I have worked with Steve and Nate and both have done a wonderful job. They communicate well and are very knowledgeable! The firm has a vast amount of experience and provides great service.
Nate helped me with a complicated 2024 tax year. While there was a hiccup with overpayment I'm very satisfied with how it was resolved by Nate and his team. Big thank you to them.
Simply put, beyond awful, stay away. We submitted straightforward tax info to them two months before tax day, and they didn't communicate anything with us until the week taxes were due and we had to talk to five different people, usually through poor email communication to get any help. They did little to help us with our taxes, and our situation got dramatically worse by using Adams and Petersen. I encourage you to seek any and all alternatives to these people. I am a pretty easy going person and I fee
Vicki with Adams and Petersen has been great to work with. Always available to ask questions. Use these guys for your taxes... They're Great.
There was very little communication throughout the process of filing my complicate case, and the times that there was communication it was instigated by me. I would not recommend this company.
Worked with them for years, and it kept getting more and more expensive, and they kept making mistakes. This last year (2023) they wanted $1400, even though the nation-wide average is half that. And, after I had to ask them about another mistake they made, one of their partners called me and suggested I find another accountant :rolls-eyes: Don't get me wrong, the staff was nice and professional. But, one thing I expect from an accountant is being accurate and correct, especially for such a high price, and
I've had my taxes done with this accounting firm for several years. Gary Petersen is a very honest man and gives great advice on what types of deductions are appropriate vs walking a shady line. Most recently, Nate and Ashley replied quickly, thoroughly and after business hours to provide a detailed answer to a question I had on my final tax documents. Every person I've experienced there has been kind and professional and makes tax filing worry free! Thanks you guys!
Steve Adams does a great job of preparing my tax information year after year. I have been with him for over 20 years and he has assisted me with many very complicated returns for my 3 businesses, 5 sales of recreational properties and my K1 distributions. I would highly recommend his CPA Firm for all of your accounting needs.
I appreciate the high degree of professionalism and competence I receive from Adams & Peterson, CPAs. Steve provided exemplary accounting service in the preparation of my complex tax return. I'm sending my daughter to A&P for her family's tax strategy, planning and business review needs. They are very easy to work with and provide the products that are requested and needed.
I love working with Brandon, Ashley and Alexys (I use first names intentionally given the friendly and collegial nature of the practice). They are extremely smart, professional, friendly and trustworthy. They are instrumental in my financial planning and have simplified and demystified an otherwise stressful season. They have great judgement and are able to effectively balance client advocacy against taking unreasonable positions so that you can trust that you are neither overpaying nor taking on any und
This company is always professional and thorough in their work, while providing friendly customer service. Ashley is incredibly helpful, friendly and professional at all times. She makes my calls to the accountant a pleasure. And Amy is always available with sage advice.
This is the CPA dream Team! Everyone in this organization is extremely professional, helpful and friendly. The amount of knowledge I have gained in my first year working with Brandon and Nate has been priceless. I have recommended their services to several colleagues and entrepreneurs. I dont post many reviews but Adams and Petersen definitely derserved it. This team is awesome at what they do!
Gary, along with other Adams and Petersen CPA's, have taken care of me, my Aunt and my Mother in law for 10+ years. We have all been very happy with their responsiveness, quality and accuracy of the tax preparation and timeliness of our filings and follow up with IRS when there is a question needing to be handled by A&P, CPA's on our behalf. ??
I have known Steve Adams for over 25 years and during that time he and his firm have done my personal and business taxes. My businesses have ranged from small startup, to medium sizes software company to a sole proprietorship. As a firm they are timely. professional and forward thinking. I would recommend them to anyone looking for quality accounting and tax preparation.
Ashley is awesome! Best administrative assistant I have ever been able to work with. Great company!
Gary, Steve, and the whole team are the best CPA's to work with. They handle my personal and business taxes and they made this whole process easy. (Well as easy as possible when you are paying taxes.) I would highly recommend them!
AT first meeting they seemed OK. They claimed to have experience working with many real estate investors/companies, but were unable to definitively answer my questions about how to account for my type of corporation. Should have been a flag. I had a brief intro call between Brandon and my attorney. My attorney was able instruct Brandon on how my books should be kept with each entity. Received a bill for $156. It was not detailed (you'd think an accounting firm could handle that). After 3+ emails and month
Professional, diligent and quick. I had the pleasure of working with Brandon in March 2022. My partner and I required tax returns that included complicated issues due to living and working overseas. Brandon couldn't have made the process easier. Without him and the companies knowledge and quick turnaround our submission for visas would have been significantly hampered and delayed. If you are looking for a professional outfit that get things done, these are your guys.
Ashley and Vicki that work up front, went above and beyond helping with my taxes. They are always so professional and very nice. Good job ladies. Keep it up
I can't say enough great things about Adams and Peterson, they are incredible professionals! Not only do they make sure your CPA needs are met, they go above and beyond in making sure you're on top of everything. I'm so grateful and impressed with each member of their team. Each year they continually have a raving fan!
I have been getting my taxes done here for 3 years now. Ashley and Thomas are always very quick to respond and very informative with any questions I have!
An educated competent group that offers a down home feeling of personal care. These guys truley are serving the individual. You get personal treatment with a fair pricing and excellent knowledge whether it be in business accounting or tax services. I would recommend these guys to anyone who is looking to have the very best techincal knowledge with personal feeling. I am sold!!
I was overcharged for my personal and business taxes last year... They charged me $3000 which was just about the same amount that I received from the government. They also charged me $300 for my son's personal taxes which would have been a 1040 EZ form.. ironically he also received about $300 back from the government. I called to question the charges and was told there was nothing to question... the charges are what they are and there was nothing I could do about them. I've delt with other tax accountant
I've been doing my taxes with Steve for multiple years now. Not once have I been dissatisfied with the service provided. Friendly, quick, and accurate work provided.
This is the best CPA firm you will ever find. Fantastic customer service, excellent tax advice and planning and very reasonable rates.
Met with Steve Adams and very impressed with regards to his tax knowledge & insight. I highly recommend Steve!
I don't know what I would do without Adams & Petersen CPAs. 5 STARS! Professional, competent, courteous, caring -- who could ask for more?
Love working with this company. They take time to go over the company with us every year. We will continue to use them.
Top notch accounting firm. Highly recommend for all accounting needs.
Great to work with. Very knowledgeable and responsive.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
