Customer Reviews

Accurate Tax has been nothing but helpful!! I moved away, although continue to make the drive to get my taxes done. I have been with them over 20 years. 10 stars ??!!

Accurate tax is the place to get your taxes done. We have been going to Adrian for years and has always taken great care of us, we refer everyone to Accurate tax.

Caroline has been doing our taxes for 7 or more years and I believe she is the best. We move state to state and she keeps up with us and the state rules. She is able to do it all via email and phone. She also checks my payroll in the middle of the year to make sure my goals are met. We cannot say enough good things about her and her mad skills and great customer service. Thank you again Caroline!!!!

I've been having Caroline to do my taxes since 2011. She is amazing and will always go to see her as long as long as she is there. Anyone need a great accountant than Caroline is your person! Always have a pleasant experience with the company. No complaints from me :)

We have been with Adrian Rounds at Accurate Tax since 2005 at their Placerville Dr. location. We learned about Adrian & Accurate Tax by a friend and co-worker, Jerry Okamura. Jerry was spot on referring us to Adrain. Adrian is an expert on the world of tax laws in medicine and nursing! Since meeting Adrian, we have referred many people to him and all are very pleased with Adrian?s expertise. He now has a large office and has several tax experts to assist in helping those whose taxes are way too complica

Excellent tax place, Super friendly, Real responsive, Get things done in a fast, timely manner!

Adrian and his team are the best around. Ive used him for my business and personal taxes for 12 years. Always fair prices? He will always make sure to do what?s in your best interest. Full of kindness and integrity.

UPDATE: I wanted to provide an update since my original review. Within 24 hours of posting my original 2-star rating, I received the response here to my review from the owner and a phone call from my tax preparer, including an apology for the delays due to health issues and she gathered all the final info in order to submit my taxes. I appreciated her apology and thanked her for getting back to me. That's all I wanted, and it took all of a 15 minute phone call. I do think they do a good job, but it shoul

This is my 2nd year getting my taxes done by Krystle and once again she went above and beyond! Within 2 days documents were ready to sign. Customer service over the top ?? As an individual in the industry for many years, it sure feels like home.

Chris Wells is great to work with here! Taking care of my non profit and personal taxes for years

Unfortunately, I have not had a good experience with Accurate Tax. Prior to using Accurate Tax this year, we had always used HR Block. The only reason that we made the change to AT (Accurate Tax) was because the man whom had done our taxes at HR block for years retired and we were in search of someone who we felt just as comfortable with. While the man that we worked with at AT was very personable, the service that we received was poor. After filing with AT it took a couple of weeks for them to actually sub

Adrian at Accurate Tax Service has been doing our taxes for 18 years. He does a great job and even makes it fun! We look forward to seeing him each year, but still cross our fingers that we don?t owe the government too much. I can highly recommend using Accuate Tax for your accounting needs.

Ive been going here for years. They are all Great people, helpful, knowledgeable. Adrian is my tax man, he always responds to my emails and phone calls. Very nice person.

I wish there was a lower score I could give them! I went to them after I had completed my taxes via TurboTax hoping they could walk me through anything I might have missed in deductions only to find out that Lisa that inputted all of my figures was no more that a data entry clerk with no helpful advice. Their numbers came in almost exactly what I had calculated from TurboTax with all of my records in order. After 40 minutes of "data entry" I told Lisa our figures were almost the same and would not have them

Wonderful service. Very helpful staff. Got my return done quick. Overall, beyond pleased, and glad I switched over. Definitely will be back every year!!

I have been using Accurate Tax for over 20yrs. Great service and reliable.

Expensive, and quoted me over a grand less than turbotax. Along with unanswered questions. Not very knowledgeable.

Needed something mailed to me, the ladies at the front desk were great!

Been going there for many years. Nice, knowledgeable folks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
