My mother turned her taxes in last march 2024. It is now 7/8/24 taxes still aren?t done. Extensions filed. My mother and I have called about 10 times now and she still hasn?t had her taxes filed. They never call back. EVER. She calls and they say they oh they?re in review. This has happened over and over and they will over again. My mother is 78 years old and hasn?t ever had to file an extension. They have ALL her tax info so she can?t file them herself. Called again today and oh they?re working on them now
I have been using a CPA firm since 1975. The first one I used, when I lived in Texas, was owned by a friend of mine. His firm was so good, I continued to use them until I moved to Wichita 20 years ago. It was a hard change for me to make but I needed someone locally. After using a couple of other local CPAs, that I did not care for, I changed to Ben Wilson at Adams Brown. I am glad I did. They have been a tremendous help over the years. I have had them do my personal real estate business as well as a
I have had the pleasure of working with ABBB for tax filing as both an individual and a small business owner for several years.? I work with Zach Glover, CPA and have found him to be nothing but professional, prompt, highly competent and reliable.? Zach knows his stuff and he's been a great resource for me over the years when it comes to the small details related to my business. I've enjoyed working with Zach so much that he has become my go-to referral when other small business owners ask me for CPA sugges
I have used this firm for a few years now. The firm has gone down hill the last two years. I have had issues the last two years. Be prepared to wait for 5 weeks or longer for your taxes to be prepared and possibly need an extension because the firm is that slow at preparing. In past years it has not take this long so maybe it?s new CPA or the firm took on too many clients. Either way I?m paying for a service and deserve prompt and accurate service for the fee I pay.
Working with Zach has been such a blessing. Starting up a business with little to no knowledge, especially on the tax side was extremely overwhelming. Zach has always been eager to answer my questions even at the most inopportune times. As his client, he consistently makes my business and myself a priority. I couldn't be happier choosing ABBB for my accounting needs. Definitely recommend!
We are a small local business and have been using ABBB for four years for our tax preparation. Besides tax prep, Ben and his team are always quick to respond to any of the day-to-day questions that pop up. Highly recommend them to any size business or individual looking for a friendly and approachable firm.
Jennifer is amazing to work with. She knows her stuff and will make sure to represent you well! Thank you for all you have done to assist me in some big deals and I look forward to our continued relationship.
After having a terrible experience with a CPA, we switched to ABBB 3 years ago and could not be any happier! Carley Hittle has been our main point of contact and she is not only extremely knowledgeable and honest but truly cares and wants to help make sure you have the best outcome possible! We are so grateful to have them on our side when tax season comes around!
I work with Ben Wilson, he has always been so quick to help me with any questions I have. I do not live in Kansas anymore, but I will continue to use Adams Brown for all of my tax needs. I highly recommend this business!
We went hear expecting to have our issues with our taxes resolved since we saw they have good reviews online ad we were very frustrated with our tax situation, that?s why we came here with high hopes. But after we came and worked with Zach Glover, our issues were never resolved and they already sent the bill to us asking us for almost $500 with their ?discounted rate? then we decided to email and to call them asking why they are charging us already and what is the next step after we pay, he told us to just
ABBB has an excellent web portal for income tax preparation. Data entry is easy and intuitive, and attaching pdf files is effortless. I prefer computer input, since I feel that paper documents are difficult to amend, so tax prep with ABBB is perfect for me. I highly recommend ABBB for your accounting needs.
Love the people at Adams, Brown, Beran & Ball! They always take amazing care of me and pricing is very fair. Jennifer Allen there is the best CPA ever!
Ben and his staff are top notch. I run a small tree company and have lots of questions. They are prompt and very informative. Highly recommend this firm for any accounting needs.
Russell at Adams, Brown, Beran & Ball does a great job. He is timely and efficient, and keeps the process as simple as possible. I will be recommending him to my friends and family.
I went there for a free consultation to get told what I already knew - then a few weeks later I received a bill in the mail bc I went over the allotted time for the "free consultation." It's another one of them "Gotcha" businesses...at least that's what I call them. Lesson learned.
The ABBB staff are amazing. They are so welcoming and friendly when you walk into the door or even when you call. I highly recommend them and the ABBB staff!
Biggest joke of a tax company. Communication is terrible. Would not recommend.
Wonderful staff, from the receptionist to the accountants, they make this process as painless as possible.
Excellent support, advice, and services.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
