Customer Reviews

The only thing worse than doing my taxes, was having All American Tax do them. In the four years they prepared our taxes (despite us providing our documents in February) twice the returns were not submitted to the IRS until July. Costing us thousands of dollars in penalties. Basic math mistakes were made costing thousands of dollars. Income was misclassified costing thousands of dollars and basic deductions were not applied costing thousands of dollars. When I brought all of this to the owners attention I r

We have been going to All American Tax, LLC for several years and Joe has always been very professional and provides great explanation to questions regarding taxes. We trust him completely with our filings and plan on having him do our taxes for many years in the future.

We used All American Tax to file our taxes and recently received a letter from Kansas stating that our taxes were done incorrectly and we owe them over $500. I contacted All American Tax and they have done nothing to help us fix this issue. We can not recommend these people since they won't stand behind their work. I noticed they responded below. We actually emailed the letter to them MULTIPLE times and they did not respond to us! Yes, it's true, you get no help if they do not contact you. They did not re

Doing business with All American Tax is like being force into a hostage situation and YOU are the hostage. We hired them around 6 months ago to perform bookkeeping/writeup services for our business and to also take care of our business/personal taxes. To date they have not performed any of these services to an any acceptable level. As a new business we had numerous questions for them. More often than not our questions were not answered and our emails simply not responded to. They never met any deadline

Joe and Lois are great! They are easy to work with and provide excellent advice. They always have the latest updates on tax law changes and my taxes are done efficiently and correctly.

I have know Joe for many years back to high school and the entire Cumley family. He is just what you want and need in a Tax Consultant; Wise, intelligent, updated, funny and a great conversationalist. Most of all, an honest and reputable human being. God bless you and your entire family. Casey J. Quinlan

Joe and Lois and the rest of the staff provide excellent feedback while going over our taxes. In addition they provide excellent communication. Also they provide a good Christian work environment.

I stopped by to ask a couple questions about Kansas as a new resident before the tax season starts. Even though the preparers weren?t in at the moment, the receptionist Ashley was very friendly and patient with me. Would absolutely recommend this place.

This is an experienced, knowledgeable tax office with high professional and ethical standards. I am self-employed, and my husband works for the government, so tax season is always a headache for us! This year we decided to have Joe file for us, and it has been an excellent experience. We will be receiving a refund higher than we expected! Joe and Lois have spent extensive time in professional trainings to best understand the new 2019 tax laws, and I?m confident that my return has been handled in a correct a

Joe has been doing my families taxes for as long as I can rememeber. We have never had an issue with our returns. When my parents were audited a few years ago, Joe helped make the audit as easy and smooth as possible. We've recommended Joe to quite a few people over the years and will continue to do so.

Went here because of good reviews....found out that it is just terrible service I had to call 4 times about my services and being told they would contact me or had tried to which was false. After 3 weeks of the typical oh yea were working on it, I finally requested my documents back to go elsewhere then my services were cared for the next day; so I got stuck. Also overcharged out the ***. Like really overcharged.

I?ve used Joe for a number of years and have received phenomenal service. I have also heard nothing but good things from the dozens of friends and colleagues that have used him or the folks that I?ve personally referred to him. Joe is the best tax guy I?ve ever met and I hope he never retires.

We've used All American Tax for a few years. Joe and his staff are great. They help individuals and business owners. They can help with accounting services beyond simply tax prep.

Getting a 2 star rating for disorganization (which, quite frankly is not a good look for a tax preparer) and causing me unnecessary stress and time. I'll explain this rating as simply as I can. My employer screwed up my 2015 w2, which they didn't inform me of until this spring. They agreed to reimburse me for having to have an amended return done by a tax preparer. I usually prepare my own, relatively simple taxes, with tax software. However, having had to file an amended return previously, I know they can

Joe and his staff have been doing both business and my personal taxes for several years. The level of knowledge and service is incredible. I would refer him to anyone I know!

Great time spent -Filing separately saved us money -When the IRS made a mistake on our account Joe took it over and got it corrected

We have always received 5 star service from All American Tax. Hey are very kind and helpful.

I have been availing Joe?s services for the past 10+ years and Through all the years, he and his team (Matt, Lois and all) have always given our family the best tax advice and service.

Joe is a pro at sorting through taxes, price is comparable to online solutions without the DIY hassle.

Disgusting online social media behavior.

Joe has been my tax guy for over ten years couldn?t ask for a better tax company to represent me.

Friendly, attentive, quick, in the stressful times of tax season Joe and Lois are your rock.

Great tax service before and after filing with any problems that may happen

Easy to deal with, great service, love knowing Joe?s I my corner!

Helpful and patient during stressful IRS stuff.

Very knowledgeable, dependable and caring.

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
