Customer Reviews

We want to thank David and his amazing team at American Capital Group. Their patients and professionalism made them an absolute joy to work with. They took what could have been a nightmare situation, ironed out all the wrinkles and kept that burden off of us. Their rapid response and excellent communication was greatly appreciated. We look forward to working with American Capital Group again and will definitely recommend friends and business associates who need capital funding.

Bought my first commercial equipment with them and the rep was extremely helpful and professional. Definitely going back.

Josh and his team have been a critical driver of our success. We have used them multiple times and have had nothing but great experiences! They are professional and knowledgeable, and have made what could be an incredibly stressful and time-consuming process into one that is streamlined and easy. As a business owner, I value Josh and his team and the ways in which they've helped add to our bottom line. We would highly recommend them!

Shelby was great to work with! The process was pretty simple. If we had questions she always responded quickly to provide clarification. Financing terms are always high for start up businesses, but we actually got lower rates through her than any other company would have given. She and her team aren't pushy and stay on top of things until your deal is closed!

Shelby Cooper assisted us in our lease of a tow truck, Shelby was very attentive and helpful. She made sure that we thoroughly understood everything and had no problem explaining anything along the way. Shelby made sure that we got exactly what we were looking for in the terms of our lease and also had great follow up. I have full intentions of doing business with ACG Capital again thanks to Shelby, we are already looking for our second tow truck !

I wanted to thank Chris for making the lease process so easy and getting the lease done quickly. His customer service was great, kept in contact with me constantly so nothing would slow down the process. With the new machinery we acquired we were able to reduce staff, increase or output and profitability. I would recommend Chris and American Capital for your leasing needs. Thanks for the step up!! Ruben

We have been working with Shelby Cooper! I must say that when we were told she was amazing, that was an understatement. She has been thorough, swift, understanding, patient, kind, diligent and so on!! She does not stop until the job is done and is truly a gem. We have been very pleased with her hard work! Thank you Shelby!

Was an easy streamlined process. Shelby C was great to work with, responsive, was easy to get ahold of, kept me updated daily with where we were, was nice to see good customer service, Will use ACG in the future. Thanks Shelby!

Chris has been wonderful to work with. Made our approval process much less stressful thank companies we've worked with in the past. He is easy to get a hold of and communicates with me and my staff very well. Looking forward to doing more business with them in the future!

I dealt with Dan Doran, he's the BEST; Ask for him personally. The process was simple and fast, he was very friendly and informative. If you need funding for your small business don't hesitate to reach out to these guys. Big banks don't care about the little guys, glad to see a finance company who isn't afraid to help us out. Thank you

I was in contact with Shelby Cooper, she helped me, she followed up all time through my transaction. Always prompt and honest. A woman of her word, she made the transaction very pleasurable and would highly recommend her, thanks Shelby!!

Shelby was wonderful to work with since taking over our account. She made sure we were completely satisfied not only with American Capital but that our Vendor provided everything that was necessary.

If we could hire Shelby Cooper to run our whole business we would doi it in a heartbeat. She's the most enthusiastic, proactive, and productive person we've the pleasure of working with since we started our business. Can't recommend her highly enough!

Great people to work with. Not sure why there is a negative review. They are very easy to work with. I would recommend ACG Funding to anyone who needs financing for equipment. I will definitely use them again! Chris Lightfoot was my main point of contact. I have financed with other companies before. I would highly recommend ACG.

It is now 2017. I requested funds through Pawnee Leasing and they sent me to ACG. I have been very pleased dealing with David S. He has taken my phone calls and answered my emails. I understand financing is not guaranteed but communication is key and David S. has been a pleasure to work with.

Shelby Cooper is the best. We have worked with her for years and every time, she is prompt and efficient and gets the job done on top of being upbeat and positive.

I was getting financing through Aerial Tiatans and i would have gone through with it but I switched vendors and there finance vendor was Josh Spinter with American Capital. It was simple Josh said off the gate if I can save you money would you go through us and of course I said yes and josh saved me close to 10,000 cheaper then the other lender and great communication skills quick to call back. I will be using Josh Splinter again for my financing in the future. Thanks Richard Ostrander

The American Capital Group did get me financing when I needed it most. The lease was set up with Mr. Josh Splinter and he gave the verbal impression that he was the go to guy with leases. Not so! He evidently is the person that does the sales (he is OK) but other people at American Capital Group seem to be very difficult to deal with. They do not call back in a timely manner, they insist that the letter of the contract be followed. I have never had this problem with any of the 25 or so other lease companies

I just wanted to say that Shelby Cooper was instrumental in getting me another truck for my company! She worked with myself and the insurance company diligently to insure everything was done correctly! Whatever you are paying her it isn't enough!

We have referred several customers to Kirk with ACG. Based on the success of those dealings he has has gained our trust in his work ethic, his knowledge and his experience in meeting the unique demands of providing the best equipment financing programs to fit our customers needs.

This company is definitely a scam, just like many other people they told us to submit a signed commitment letter with the deposit that everything was ok, in this letter they had put the amount that we were supposed to get approved for. After a few days they said we weren't approved for that amount but a much lower amount but still they kept a 2% deposit from the higher amount, and then ask us for the revised commitment letters when they knew they had not sent them on purpose. They company itself it's a sc

Shame on me, for not reading articles 3, 15 and 16 thoroughly, so be warned. They provided us with money to buy photobooths, however, they actually rented them to us. Since we did not catch this, we are paying an extra $7200 for this equipment, which mind you, we already paid $21600 over the last 3 years. I blame myself and my father, but I do not mind saying, this is a deplorable way to conduct business. I post this for all to remember this, read the documents thoroughly or get a lawyer. $250-500 to a

Very unethical company. They'll tell you you're approved and then ask for a "Documentation" fee and 1st months payment, which by the way is commonplace, but they know that so they use it to bait you. If you request to cancel the process because they don't respond to your emails, phone calls, or voicemail's, leaving you entirely in the dark feeling ripped off, then they'll keep the doc fee and charge you 2% percent of the equipment and change that "feeling" you had into a reality. It's a very clever con, esp

American Capital is a great company to work with. Enjoy Church will forever be grateful to David Salas and the American Capital Group for their hard work and dedication to help up with our financial funding needs. They went above and beyond what would have been expected. We will use them again and I would highly recommend them to anyone. David and team we want to say THANK YOU!!!

I have been working with Devin Schirm to purchase a huge equipment for my production company. He helped me through out the process with patience and found a creative way to solve the issues I had. Though sometimes there charges are more for a startup companies, I am glad that they are supporting to establish a new business. I will for sure work with them in future again.

Kirk, at American Capital Group, has always gone above and beyond to make sure that our transactions go as smoothly as possible. He has acquired several leases for our unusual rental business, which have helped us grow into a profitable, debt free, business! Everyone at ACG has been very helpful. I highly recommend Kirk and his team at ACG.

Giving a big shoutout for Josh and his team. They are so professional and such a pleasure to work with. Josh and Mandy handled my request so fast and made it work so easy. Fantastic Job, way to go!!

Chris is wonderful. He understood our needs and customized an equipment loan that suited us perfectly. Anytime we have questions Chris is always available to us. We would definitely recommend Chris with American Capital.

Shelby Cooper, our account manager was wonderful. She really went above and beyond the call of duty to make the deals happen. Thank you Shelby.

Such a disappointment working with this company. In my 20 years in finance I have never had such a negative experience. They will tell you what they think you want to hear, but in the end you find that you've paid pro-rated rent on equipment that they had only funded a deposit on, the equipment hasn't even been delivered yet and you are out $12,000 over a 4 month period, this only becomes clear when you sign the final paperwork once the equipment is delivered. Our rep talked in circles, didn't take respon

Josh called me for over a year trying to get my business . When I did find the right truck he was on it trying to make the deal work. Mandy also very nice and worked hard on the technical stuff .

Had a good experience with American capital. The whole process was quick and easy, did everything from my cell phone. Their agents are very professional and very helpful. I would recommend this company for a business loan.

Dear Shelby Your knowledge and experience was invaluable in helping me . Im looking forward to doing business with your for many years to come. Thank you so much for everything sweetheart. Your company are so lucky to have you!!!!!

Shelby was amazing!! She followed up meticulously at every step. I highly recommend American for all your capitol needs!! John P. Farnham 111

Just closed out our first lease with ACG. Our rep Shelby Cooper couldn't have been more helpful with the entire process. Our next equipment needs will go straight to her!

Josh made the whole loan process seamless, and has absolutely gone above and beyond, even checking in on problems created by the vendor that were not his responsibility. I would definitely recommend ACG.

These people are absolute scammers. Don't lease with them!!! They purposefully make the process confusing and in the end will rip you off. Full of evergreen clauses and pro rata rent. They are clearly not out to make this process easy. These "good" reviews on google are clearly made up. There is no way they are helpful. Very unethical business practices.

Devin was such a pleasure to work with and i enjoyed my experience, he was professional and did everything he could to help me get approved for my tow truck loan and worked hard for me every step of the way. Thank you Devin and the ACG people.

Shelby is always quick to respond and has been very helpful throughout lending process. Multiple ACG transactions and happy.

?My experience with ACG was excellent- they went out of their way to make me happy and were really punctual. David, my leasing agent, was outstanding. I'm happy with my equipment and am excited to lease more from them should the opportunity arise. Would recommend ACG to anyone who is in need of leasing services. - Mike Ross?

Very very impressed with this company and specially with Shelby Cooper. If you qualify and are diligent, get ready because you will get financing!!!!

Am very pleased with ACG. Josh is a pleasure to work with; prompt with paperwork and returning calls. A plus rating for ACG!

Shelby Cooper is a true professional patient and understanding That is hard to find now days You need help with equipment purchase I recommend You contact Shelby Cooper @ American Capital Group

Jim Ackerman is a rude, lying sales person. When you introduce yourself with a lie ... There is no way most people will do any business with you, ever. Do not ever call us again. Next stop, FCC to report your tactics.

This company is a scam. After an application for a lease ,they told me everything is ok just to send them a security deposit .when they received the money they said im not approved.Because they run my credit they charge me 1400$.I think this is their business.Find 2 or 3 people like me a day and make a lot of money from us..Don't use this company ,they take your money

Great company with many programs for all types of businesses. Kirk is great at communicating and always takes care of business.

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
