Customer Reviews

We always contact Andrea when we need to consult with her about tax issues. She advises us on what we need to do so that we don't get a surprise during tax season. She is the best!?

I?ve used Andrea and her office for years to file my taxes. They are prompt, professional, and I have always had a great experience with them. I also use Matt for my retirement planning. They are all great. If you are not using them, you should be ??.

I had a great experience with Andrea Ward for my first meeting with the firm. For a nominal professional services fee, I had a very productive meeting in which all my questions were answered. Andrea is both a great listener and presenter. She is very personable. The firm makes use of Zoom video call convenience for meetings, at the client?s option, or will meet in person for those that prefer doing that. She also uses all the latest office technologies including a secure client portal ensuring very secure

My spouse/business partner and I went in to see Andrea for the first time on 10/4/2024. We own a couple of different businesses and had so many questions. Andrea laid everything out for us and gave us real-world examples. We came out of that meeting with many ideas for how to structure the businesses going forward and what to do to save money regarding college tuition for my daughter. We have already scheduled our next meeting to get into the details of what to do next.

Andrea Ward is the best! She is very informative and takes time to address all my questions thoroughly. She always goes above and beyond to take care of my needs.

Outstanding and professional team! I never felt like a stranger. They give you confidence and the ability to take control of your finance. An A plus group!

Clear, concise and complete communication of the services offered. Cordial, pleasant and professional atmosphere. Reasonable and appropriate rates conferring much value.

Andrea was amazing and very knowledgeable about every tax situation. She was patient, genuine and honest in addressing every question I had which I had a ton. I would definitely recommend her to anyone with no hesitation. She has displayed a sincere willingness to assist and provide information specific to every tax implication. I am thrilled to do business with her. Thank you!

Andrea was absolutely amazing and the staff made the entire experience comforting from the moment we walked through the doors. Me and my partner were both in different situations tax wise and we both have made strides in financial decisions for the year and were placed onto an island of uncertainty surrounded by an ocean of what do we do's. Clueless as to how we were to move forward as efficiently as possible to ensure a good standing we were lucky to have her office right down the street. We've never had s

This is a great business to work with. Without a doubt this company earned a Five star review m. I met with Daniel Galvin, on February 29, 2024. I am a new resident to Texas, and felt very confident using Andrea Ward?s services. Filing IRS returns can be stressful for everyone and I appreciative the time that Daniel, spent to explain next steps and the best options moving forward. I look forward to working with Andre Ward, for my future tax filings. ED.

My meeting with Andrea was awesome. She?s very personable and was willing to answer all my questions (she was even gracious enough to go over on time with me - thank you for that Andrea!). In my search for a new CPA, Andrea and her team are first on my list!

Highly recommend! I've tried several CPAs and realize they did not set me up for success filing my personal taxes. Andrea was very patient and walked me through every step, gave me helpful examples, and helped me have a clear path forward. I plan to work with her for many years to come and would recommend her to anyone!

We set up a meeting with Andrea to discuss the tax implications of a newly formed LLC. The firm was quick to respond to our request for a meeting, and at that initial meeting, Andrea explained things in easy to understand terms. We look forward to continuing our relationship.

Andrea and her team is simply the best! I have had a wonderful experience working with her and her team multiple times. She is very responsive, professional, knowledgable, thorough and I feel 100% confident trusting my tax needs with her. I would give her 10 stars if I could!

We met with Andrea for the first time and were highly impressed with her expertise in all the matters we discussed. She is kind, smart, informed and helped us understand everything so clearly. We will definitely use her in the upcoming future!

Recently, Mr. Ward met with me to set up something for the IRS. He was extremely patient, professional, and kind! All staff - such as Melissa, Andrea herself, and so many more make running my small business so much easier!!

Fantastic place and wonderful people!!! I desperately needed help correcting a mistake that I made concerning an EIN number. I went to Andrea Ward's office on the recommendation of an acquaintance. They heard my situation and also that I was on a time crunch and stepped in to help me without any hesitation. Within a week, the EIN situation was corrected and I could use it to help settle my deceased grandfather's estate. During a stressful and trying time, it is so refreshing and soothing to come across warm

This CPA office continues to impress me. All the staff are more than courteous and exceedingly prompt with any request. Furthermore, they keep me reminded of any requirements from my business to stay current with any and all financials. Can't say enough good things about them. I am fortunate to have found them first (they were recommended) and they more than exceeded expectations. Melissa and Steve are superb. Thanks guys

Andrea has done our taxes for several years now, and we've expanded to use other services she offers. She is highly knowledgeable, friendly and takes the time to explain the tax law in terms the average person can understand. The one star review below is complete garbage, no way this guy talked to anyone in the office. I've called them in the heart of tax season, when you know they are working on 3 hours sleep, and they are nothing but kind and patient.

I needed to go in today, due to new regulations from the IRS. Met with Mr. Steve. He went above and beyond to help me. I really appreciate this company and their integrity. They continually amaze me.(If you need someone to help you with your company payroll, you won?t be disappointed). They are amazing!!!!!!

This is my first time doing amendment tax at Andrea Ward and I have great experience. Matt Ward and Naomi have helped me my to amend 2018 non resident tax return and helped prepare for 2019 tax return. They are professional and always willing to strive for giving me the best service. I am impressed with their service and ability to guide me through the tax preparation. I definitely recommend using the Andrea M. Ward service.

It is a real pleasure working with Andrea Ward?s office. They always go above and beyond to help and resolve your issue and answer all questions you may have. They have great professionalism, great listeners, and great customer service! Thank you Andrea and Melissa for your help this week! You are the BEST! Thank you, Sherry Dodson

5-1/2 Stars!!! Award Tax has helped me with my taxes for over 30 years. Andrea and her staff are awesome!! #1 for tax and investment advice.

Earlier this week I made a self-discovery of a large tax error (not in my favor). After reaching out to the firm via their website contact form, Matt Ward contacted me directly and communicated with me frequently to help resolve this issue with the IRS (I was not a client at this time). With the firm's assistance, although I am still out the amount due to underpayment, I feel confident that the issue is resolved and I will not need to worry about the IRS knocking at my door. I am currently discussing with

So this was our first experience here and it was amazing. The location is nice, clean, prompt service and very polite. Then we order and the food comes out... They didn't tell us that 1 plates was the size of a turkey platter and completely filled with food. You get so much food for the money you spend and it is amazing. It is fresh, hot, and seasoned. Now this place is 35 minutes from my house but most definitely worth the drive and I would recommend anyone to get out there.

Andrea and Steve are wonderful! They listen and provide excellent advice. I know I?m in good hands and have someone looking out for my best interests.

UPDATE TO OWNER'S RESPONSE: Your response is a blatant lie. You certainly DID provide this service. Maybe you don't now because of what happened. ***************** This firm provided payroll services for our non-profit. They did not protect their IT systems nor follow standard procedures. Their internal emails were hacked and someone sent them a spoofed email pretending to be our non-profit. Subsequently, this firm initiated 2 separate payroll wires to a made up employee IN A DIFFERENT STATE (for amounts

Was recommend to this firm by a coworker. I can say the people were nice and extremely helpful. They pointed out everything i did wrong on previous fillings and how not to make the same mistakes again. This years filling went smooth with no issues. Once again thanks to this great team.

After using the same CPA for many years, we decided to try someone closer to home. I wish we had stayed with our old firm. I realize that during Covid 19 we were given a longer time to file; however, it still should not have taken 6 weeks to complete our taxes. That is a ridiculously long time even during normal tax rush. I won't even go into how that made us miss getting a stimulus check. Now that they finally completed it and we signed the document and sent it back, my husband called to make sure they r

They were substantially more expensive than I expected! We asked at the beginning what the cost would be to complete our personal and corporate tax returns, but they couldn't give us an amount. Said it would depend on the work they had to do. Ended up charging almost 3 times what we paid for our 2017 return preparations ... Even after they found mistakes on their own bill! And, we had to remind them of tasks they hadn't completed! Everyone was nice enough, but seemed pretty unorganized. Guess we just

Had the best experience here! Such a wonderful family business! I will be coming here with my husband from now on in the future!! Chris was awesome!! Great experience!

Andrea was wonderful in listening and answering my concerns. She and the other office staff are always great to work with.

Told me the next steps, that I need to take regarding my situation. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Will use her to prepare for my taxes. Highly recommend!

Awesome business! Very professional and kind. Called in timely manner for appt. Will def use them in the future! Thank you Chris.

Great service! They are always available for professional advice!

Amazing they helped me start my llc and walked me though everything and has kept in touch ever step of the way

It is a great pleasure to recommend this lovely, intelligent woman. She sincerely takes her time and is a consummate professional.

Have had my taxes completed by them 2 years in a row now, would never go anywhere else!!

Never had an issue. Always been great communication.

Very professional and knowledgeable. I have been very satisfied with the service and staff.

Very helpful and kind staff, thanks so much!

Very good CPA and Tax accountant..

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
