Over the last 23 years, DPW now Anthem Strategy have served our family. We have watched their business grow and move into new areas of service. One thing that has never changed is the sincere service they give their clients. They are trustworthy and honest. Doug, Ben and Michiyo and all their assistants deserve 5+ stars.
The team at Anthem has been exceptional in handling our taxes and financial planning. They are readily available to answer any questions and provide guidance to keep you on track. Highly recommend their services.
Many of my clients use Anthem for business, estate and tax advice. My law firm works with Anthem in a team approach of advisors dedicated to serving our mutual clients. I find the advisors at Anthem professional and responsive. I highly recommend them.
DPW has an incredibly professional and supportive reputation in our area that they have well earned and deserve. Personally, my family and I look forward to their expertise with our investments and preparing our taxes. We truly believe our future is stronger because of them. Professionally, Doty Pruett Wilson PC steps up to meet the needs of our community. They have sponsored many community events that benefit children, women and their families and nonprofits throughout Marion, Polk and Yamhill counties. Th
The Anthem Strategists team is knowledgeable and highly professional. I have and will continue to trust them with my tax planning and preparation.
Tyson Pruett has been wonderful to work with. He has moved so far beyond the so called expert caliber that I would give him 6 stars if possible! He always makes sure I pay my taxes. Thank you!
Just attempting to make a simple preliminary appointment with the DPW team was like pulling teeth. Last minute cancellations and poor communication led me to finding another provider. My second reschedule was cancelled on the Saturday previous to my Monday appointment at 9AM. Great news, they are closed on the weekend and no rescheduling was available. I imagine this was an automated message. Like most, I work during the week and I scheduled time off two times for appointments to be cancelled last minute.
3 weeks of wasted time with this firm before true colors came fourth. 100% do not recommend.
My experience with Doty Pruett started off great. However, it quickly went downhill. Taxes filed late, incorrect numbers given multiple times, charging me incorrectly, never responding to calls or e-mails. I now have (4) emails and multiple calls over (3) months asking to cancel my Quickbooks subscription with them and they continue to charge me. Do I need to dispute these charges or can someone actually respond please?
There are two parts to this review: 1. A review of the actual work performed. 2. A review of the people involved and the manner in which the work was performed. As for the work performed, it was done expeditiously and accurately. The work performed ended up saving me tens of thousands of dollars. In short, they do five star work. As for the people involved, both Tyson Pruett and Sarah Goode were attentive, professional, and knowledgeable. Even though my work covered multiple years of returns and requir
I came to Doty Pruett Wilson with a very complicated tax situation. We own two small businesses and around 100 apartment units. Tyson Pruett and Donald King have done a spectacular job. I have been very impressed with the quality of the work and advice and with how proactive they are in planning. This strategic thinking has allowed me to be more efficient and intentional with how I run my businesses. I absolutely recommend them and feel fortunate to have them in my corner!
We made the decision to move to Doty & Company at the end of last year and have been very pleased. It was not an easy decision, as we had been with our previous CPA firm for over 20 years. However, we were looking for somebody who was ready to be more proactive for our growing business and somebody we could feel comfortable with for the next 20 years. We have not regretted our decision one bit, as working with Doug and Sharon has been a great experience. They have been very helpful both in proactive tax
Working with DPW has been such a positive experience. Ben and Samuel are absolutely incredible, they're so easy to work with, and have really helped me a lot during my first year of business. So glad I reached out to them!
It has been a pleasure working with Ben Wilson & Zach Hatefi at DPW. Their entire team exudes professionalism while providing good strategies and communication. I can highly recommend them!
Tyler and Sarah were one of the most competent and professional teams I've worked with. They were knowledgable and thorough. They were also patient and communicated clearly, but above all these key elements..... They cared about helping me through the process of getting things done correctly and having them completed. I highly, highly recommend them as a team that excels on all levels!
Doty & Co has been a huge help to us for our accounting/tax filing needs. We purchased a company less than a year ago and Ben helped us in explaining the different kinds of corporations as well as the how they can affect payroll taxes and owner disbursements. Mary helped me in setting up my Quickbooks and in understanding how to do the payroll. They walked us through everything and were extremely helpful. I fully trust them and believe they have a high level of integrity. I would (and have) recommended
Could not be more pleased with our service!!! We also switched our personal and corporate taxes to Doug and his team. The first year went smoothly as Holly (our staff CPA) is a good communicator, excellent, efficient and patiently answers all our questions. Integrity is obvious in this firm and yet they are always searching for how to find you the best tax advantage.
Have worked with Ben for 11 years. Feel like he is easy to contact and very knowledge. They are not the cheapest around but I would definitely say they are the sharpest knife in the drawer. I feel like they maximize my tax savings and have been a key asset to grow my business from one employee to a company grossing over a million. They watch my back for me and I trust them completely!
Always tip of the spear tax planning and guidance. Efficient and effective strategies they have taught me over the last 5 years that have significantly reduced my Federal and Oregon State tax. Thank you DPW for the hard work with excellent and friendly service!!!
Did not help me figure out the forms I needed to file when my 2013 taxes were stolen. Did not file my 2014 taxes. Did not set up my 2014 payment plan. Did not communicate well after discovering the error. Blamed the IRS initially. Did not help me deal with the IRS once I was hit with late filing and late payment fees. This is a big deal to me given my line of work which requires strict legal adherence. Worst of all, I have not received even an apology for all of this. They have completely ignored the two e
These guys have a real bad habit of grossly overcharging in my experience.I have also heard of several other company owners who experienced the same thing. In my opinion these guys are nothing more than used car salesman.
Very impressed with Doty Pruett Wilson PC. I worked directly with Sarah Goode and Maria Rivas and they were always quick to respond and very easy to work with.
We had a consultation with Ben. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Definitely recommend!
The team at Doty Pruett Wilson are knowledgeable and highly capable of handling tax questions. From consult to completion. Top notch
Fabulous firm to work with!! Highly recommend.
don't contact them unless you want your time wasted.
Great customer service and prompt return on our taxes. I would recommend them to everyone.
DPW has a great atmosphere with very skilled accountants. Couldn?t have had better service with my taxes this year!
They did my taxes twice and I was happy with the results and the accountant who prepared them.
Very helpful with questions about the 1099 and 1096 forms for my business! Alex at the front desk is very personable, yet professional.
These guys are the BEST in Oregon!
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
