Ascension has processed my personal and business tax returns for 2 years now, and they have always been happy to answer the phone, happy to answer questions, and happy to lead me in the correct direction regarding the taxation of my business. Thank you Ascension CPA for your professionalism and hard work! I have worked directly with Gabby, Stephanie, and Jamie, who have all been wonderful!
Very responsive and reasonably priced. 2023 Update: Yup, still great! 2024 Update...went smooth. 2025 Update: Even better haha, but to be fair my tax situation got a lot more complicated, and Jenna was very helpful and informative.
Jamie, Cassidi and the team at Ascension CPA are wonderful! They have helped me with managing my company's bookkeeping, payroll, taxes and day-to-day accounting, while giving me overall direction and strategy for the future. They also handle my personal taxes. I've never had any problems. Very easy to work with!
If you have even a small business, you need a good CPA to handle your best interested. Every year, Ascension CPA finds a list of tax benefits that I wasn't aware of and navigates me through it. When I have a question, they answer it in simple terms and help me make the best decision for me. They handle my personal and all my business tax dealings. It's not an expense, it's an investment in my quality of life and sanity. Thank you.
Great! Fantastic! Not enough superlatives to accurately describe the service that Ascension CPA provides. Fixed an error (without any fuss) that had been created by a different firm. The fix saved me thousands in unnecessary taxes. I've used them ever since!
I am a young business owner here in OKC and the team at Ascension helps me more than I could ever describe! I used to use another accountant locally, but after working with Ascension for nearly 2 years, I wouldn't recommend anyone else for CPA services! If you're looking for a trustworthy team that will help you with whatever you need, look no further than Ascension! Thanks team!
The Ascension CPA team have been real lifesavers! My husband and I started several businesses this year and the process has been overwhelming, but knowing that we have Jamie, Cassidi and the rest of the team by our side has made a tremendous difference. I highly recommend Ascension CPA for both business and personal financial guidance and expertise.
Ascension has been doing my taxes for many years. They are helpful with any and all questions I have and quick to respond. I will continue to use them for all my tax needs.
Ascension CPA is my small business and personal accountant. They are excellent....easy to work with, and they just upgraded my experience with the introduction of the Liscio web-based system. Highly recommended!
I started using Ascension CPA last year, and I have been consistently impressed with their level of service. They immediately made several recommendations that ended up saving me a lot in taxes. I wish I'd found them years ago. This year, they have been knocking it out of the park with all the help they've provided with respect to the PPP, EIDL, and Oklahoma Business Relief Programs. They reached out to me the same day OBRP was announced, proactively, to let me know about the program and that I was eli
Ascension CPA was professional and very detailed in preparing returns and making comparisons o previous returns to ensure that everything was correct. I have total confidence in the accuracy of the returns they filed.
I have used this company for over 8 years. They?ve always taken great care of me and my business. They are prompt, friendly and personal. If you?re looking for a CPA that will go the extra mile, give Ascension a call.
I have Ascension do my business books as well as management of my money. It's nothing short of life changing for me. I should have called them years earlier. They are the number people....that is what they do and do it well. Again I wish I had made the move years ago.
Cassidi has been doing our taxes for years and is willing to answer any question we may have. I've met everyone in their office and they all are so very friendly and eager to help. I recommend this company to everyone.
I have been with this firm for several years for both personal and business tax services. I stay here mostly for two reasons. Value and relationship. These are the kind of people I want to do business with, and the value I get from their service is worth the cost. They have earned 5 stars.
I tried them out last year at a cost of 750 bux. Really high but I wanted to see how they might be able to help me. One point I have about my experience. There was two lines in my accounting statements that a gall was curious about. It showed an income of 5600 for a business loan, and then I deducted the monthly payments over the 6 month term. Then she popped off to me "you can only deduct the interest". I was puzzled saying that is what I did here. I had to break it down to the accountant doing my taxes th
Ascnesion CPA does amazing work. They do all of our book keeping and taxes for all of our companies. I wouldn't want to use any other company!
Sean Hugo and his team manage my company's bookkeeping and accounting. We also count on them for strategic business advice as we grow. The team is responsive and professional. They have saved my bacon more than once.
These folks are awesome. Happy to help me with all of my questions regarding our taxes this year. They were able to squeeze me in pretty late in the game. Thank you for your help, team.
Ascension continues to complete my taxes and I am extremely pleased. I highly recommend them without reservation.
Easy, fast and great customer service. Thank you Ascension for making things easy in what could sometimes prove to be difficult and overwhelming. Job well done!
Have used them for five years and always felt they are helpful and easy to get questions answered.
Met with Jamie and Cassidi; very professional; straight-forward; look forward to doing business with them.
Quick, friendly professional service. Knowledgeable and able to save me from making mistakes on my taxes.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
