This has truly been the worst experience I've ever had with a CPA. The communication has been incredibly poor, and as a small business owner, I cannot understand how a professional could go completely unresponsive?no matter how busy they are. I first spoke with Daemon in January 2025 after hearing great things and expressed that I was unhappy with my previous CPA. He reassured me that he could help and would be able to file my taxes this year. I sent over all the requested documents on February 1st. Now,
I am so relieved to have Jd Basile in charge of my books. We purchased a business a couple years ago and had a terrible experience with a firm in town, if they?re even a real accounting firm. We came to JD in a real mess. Three quarters behind, and a tax year behind as well. He quickly took charge and filed our quarterly taxes and restaurant tax. We had nearly $3,000 in penalty?s that he was able to have waived. We are so grateful to have someone knowledgeable and trustworthy working with is.
Fantastic CPA! So grateful to have them help with our business filings.
I started using Andrew as my CPA for my small business as well as on the personal side earlier this year, and I cannot say enough incredible things! I recommend all of my friends/family who are looking for a CPA to this firm. They also handle my payroll for my company and it makes my life so much easier. Highly recommend.
I've worked with Basile & Davis for nearly 7+ years now on payroll & tax needs for a start-up I helped launch back in 2015. Their communicate is impeccable and I am happy to have made the connection with such a wonderful company so many years ago! I am happy to use them for all business & personal services as I've built such a wonderful relationship with their team. I highly recommend BDA for any and all of your needs! A big shout out to John Gubler for his years of wonderful service! You made my life s
Collin Davis and his accounting firm is top notch! I have a small business in town they handle my payroll, annual personal & business annual taxes, as well as my quarterlies. They are professional and timely, they always remind me when my quarterlies are due. Collin himself has taken the time to sit down with me and make sure I understand my financial, answers all my concerns and questions. and has helped me structure my business to get the best tax advantages I can. I would recommend Collin and hi
Wayne has been doing my taxes for a couple of years now and we are very happy with his service. We feel like he does a great job of keeping our tax liability low while still making sure everything is done right. I appreciate his service.
I have personally used JD Basile for my taxes and I appreciate his knowledge and expertise. He is professional and his follow up was helpful to get my taxes processed quickly. I would highly recommend JD Basile and Basile Davis & Ott, CPA's for all your accounting needs!
Wayne Ott has been doing our taxes for a few years now. He is very knowledgeable. It's nice to not have to worry about doing our taxes ourselves. We trust him, and recommend him every chance we get.
We are business owners who love to work hard, but we don't know a thing about doing books! Basile Davis & Ott have been the best at helping us keep on top of all we need to do for our taxes. I highly recommend them.
JD is THE MAN! He has gone above and beyond to help me, saved me literally THOUSANDS of dollars, and is always quick to support and respond. I have referred many clients of mine to him, and he has earned my business for life.
We were lucky to find Collin Davis. Our taxes were done in literally no time at all. He went above and beyond to get us a great tax return. It was the most we have ever received back. He's our guy.
JD is a top-notch trustworthy individual. I have personally referred my family and friends to their firm. One impressive experience was when there was a question related to a complex tax law item. JD acutally met with the other CPAs at the firm and masterminded a legal, ethical, and moral solution to resolving the concern. I highly recommend meeting with JD and their firm to at least see what they can do for you and your money.
I?ve been personally working with this team for the past year and a half or so. I cannot begin to describe the level of help and professionalism they provide. I highly recommend these guys. I was recommended them through a friend after hearing how a lot of companies will try and take money from you when it?s not needed. I?m really happy I went with these guys. Again thank you guys so much.
I had another CPA in the past that made a mistake with reporting my taxes and didn't try and correct the mistake. My wife looked over CPA's in the area and came across these guys; they are the real deal. Collin Davis called the IRS and took care of things with me in the room. If you are looking for a CPA who magnifies his job then Davis should be your choice. I can't even express how good he was, give him a call.
After a horrible experience with the accountant we?d used for years, JD Basile helped us with our return. He was knowledgeable and very patient with us. We?ll be using him in the future!
Collin Davis is very knowledgeable and dependable. He helped take care of my business needs so I could focus on other things. I really appreciated it!
Collin Davis is the man. We won't use anyone else to do our taxes. Super easy to work with and gets things done fast. He's great.
We have had our our taxes done here for 2 years. Great customer service and quick! I highly recommend Collin Davis.
This was my first time working with an accountant and JD was great. He had to be very patient with all my questions and expectations and he came through with flying colors.
The Basile brothers are a great family to work with! Not to mention they are great accountants.
JD has handled my taxes is always responsive answers my questions thanks
Very attentive when we needed them for help on an emergency. I really appreciate their level of service.
These is where professionalism and personal service meet, awesome people, they stay on top of dues for estate and federal all the way. Thank you.
Always a pleasure to work with. Very helpful and friendly!
Daemon is so cool I can't believe he is a CPA.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
