I used Bell CPA to start up my LLC, the help that I was given off the bat was great, the fees were reasonable, and they helped me get started in a very simple way. From the time I walked out of the building from that visit, I have not gotten phone calls or emails returned to me about any issues or questions that I have had. The phone was never answered. I had left several voicemails before I eventually decided to actually file my taxes with someone else. If I can't be sure whether my phone calls will be ans
I have used David for over 5 years now and have a couple of businesses that he prepares taxes for. He is very good at what he does and I have never had an issue. I will keep doing business with Bell CPA and will continue to refer clients to him as well.
I've been lucky to work with many individuals in varying industries while starting and growing my business, but none have been as helpful, professional, friendly, and thorough as David with Bell CPA. Even during his busiest times, he was always available to answer questions regarding any subject that he covers - which I have yet to find one that he doesn't! David is able to help professionals in any area, as I'm located in Illinois and he has been able to handle everything I've thrown at him both over the
My first time using David to prepare my taxes earlier this year was eye-opening. He was very quick, but most importantly he was very informative on how to maximize my return that you just don't get anywhere else. Especially doing it yourself online (which I had done a few years prior). I got nearly $1000 more back than I did before even under similar circumstances due to things I wasn't personally aware of that I could take advantage of.
If you are looking to get your taxes done right at a fair and honest price! I would highly recommend Bell CPA for all your financial needs just ask for David. He has an amazing staff that truly works for you for about half the price of his competitors in the area. While at the same time taking the time to explain what?s is going on with your current finances and what you can do to improve your situation.
The staff was friendly but I was charged for a minutes book over a $100 and they said it would be in about a week. In August. Haven't received any thing yet. I called a couple weeks ago. Tony said he would call me back and never did. I feel like I've been given the run around. Bad business practices. I won't be using them again. Update! They ended up refunding me the full amount! They handled the situation moving forward very well and I plan on using them again because they corrected the errors!
I?ve been using Bell CPA to take care of my business and personal taxes for a few years. David always takes time to meet with us and make sure we have everything taken care of and he always keeps us on the right track. After not always having the best luck with accountants, he?s a valuable asset to my business.
We referred my brother here because we had good experience last year and this year. And they keep giving unprofessional excuses to my brother we referred here and not getting his taxes done. He has called several times and they had said they will call back and never did. We contacted them 3 or 4 weeks later than my brother and our taxes got done first and got the money 2 weeks ago not sure why. My brother email David about it because this is not getting handled professionally but no response yet. I don't
David Bell and his team at Bell CPA's do a great job! David and I have mutual clients and all of them speak so very highly of Bell CPA. A team full of knowledgeable, responsive, and service oriented folks. Keep up the good work!
Holly has been a tremendous help to my wife and I with both business and personal tax situations! It was very refreshing to deal with a true professional when being told dozens of different ways to handle things by several people who had no clue what they were talking about! Finally a tax situation that DOESN'T make me want to pull my hair out!!!
This is by far the worst CPA I?ve ever been to. Ever since I switched to them from HR Block, I've been owing taxes instead of getting anything back. I knew something wasn?t right so I had an agent from HR Block take a look at my paper work - there are things I could have included in the filing that Bell CPA never told me about and never took the time to meet with me about, such as real estate taxes, property taxes etc. These people really don?t have your best interest in mind and don?t really care about fin
I have worked closely with David and his staff for years. They are very friendly and go out of their way to make sure their clients needs are met. I highly recommend them and refer several clients to this amazing firm!
Bell CPA has been my accountant for 2 years. Their staff are all knowledgeable and helpful. They take care of our business accounting and keep us on track with all of our requirements. Great company, highly recommend.
We have been using Holly at Bell CPA and she has been amazing to work with. She has taken the time to answer all of our questions and has taken a lot of our stresses away with running our business.
We were very pleased with Lisa and David. I'd recommend their work.
These people are very rude and I wouldn't do any business with them. They issued a check and it never arrived at my residence. And when they had to reissue one was very rude for no reason. I'd they even actually issued one in the first place.
Worst CPA I have ever been to. Me and my family gave them papers for tax file for 2020 in April 2021 and this is August now and our taxes still not file yet ????
Best CPA you can possibly find. If you want the best service and quality call David!
Very polite and professional company to work with. They help you with personal and commercial taxes and accounting.
Waited for 30 minutes past appt time and still not seen. I heard them BSing in the back but still waited. My fault for waiting, should've left earlier
Always helpful with any financials and questions regarding them. Highly recommend!
Wonderful experience with a personable competent cpa. Will use again next year.
Used for 6 yrs. No problems.
The staff is friendly and very helpful. Will recommend to everyone, and will be back!
This not nice and tell lie
No communication with his clients
Outstanding service & expertise.
Very professional staff and service!!
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
