It was really tough when our old CPA moved away and stopped helping us. Finding someone we could trust again wasn?t easy. But BNA has been a game changer! They?re not the cheapest, but their knowledge is unmatched. They?ve made everything so much easier and saved us a ton of time. They are professional, easy to talk to, and have a simple process. Big thanks to the owners for setting everything up so well! Their software makes things super easy. Even though we live just 10 minutes away, we did everything o
I've used BNA for many years, for multiple different businesses. Always had good support and advice from Jeannette, Bernie and Jason who I've dealt with.
I found BNA CPA from the Gusto partner network. They were my first call and after the first conversation they were the only accounting firm we called. Working with the BNA CPA team has been and continues to be a breath of fresh air. Filings and processes are all digital (no more reams of paper and slow turnaround times), customer service is exceptional, response times are quick, and they've made sound recommendations on structure and strategy. I've never met the BNA CPA team in person, all of our dealin
I cannot say enough good things about the Ackerman brothers. Jason, CPA, is so knowledgeable about tax regulations. He has filed our taxes for years in North Carolina, South Carolina and federally. He is patient, always answers our emails or texts quickly and is thoroughly professional and efficient. Adam is our financial planner and gives us the expertise and attention that we need to feel comfortable, even amidst the chaos of this COVID crisis. We worked with other people before we found Adam but were ne
Bernie was recommended to me by a local attorney. Bernie and his team have supported me through several complex and difficult personal and business tax situations. Despite having many larger customers, he?s always taken the time to help me when needed. He?s also been very reasonable from a cost standpoint. I?d highly recommend Bernie and his firm for your personal and or business needs.
Bernie, Jason and the many professionals and staffmembers at BNA are my long-standing choice for both my corporate and personal tax preparation and advisory services. They are astute, they work hard and they operate with an extremely high level of integrity. I trust them completely.
I am bad when it comes to finances. This has gotten me into significant trouble, in the past. When I started my own business I knew that I would need help in this area. A mentor of min recommended BNA. I wouldn't be in business without these guys expertise. They give me the best advice. They make my life very easy. They should charge me much more than they do!
I contacted Mr. Ackerman's office to seek financial advise on behalf of my mother. He was recommended by a financial advisor at our bank. After going through the proper protocol (an online request) I received no call back from his office. After two weeks of waiting to hear from them, I called to only get an answering machine. Still no call back. Am extremely disappointed in their lack of professionalism and timeliness.
I am a third-generation BNA client. I have worked with a couple of their accounts and everyone has made themselves available at a moments notice to help with any problem I have. They do my personal and business taxes and I and every interaction with them feeling more confident about my decisions.
If you make less than 6 figures a year, prepare yourself to be ignored. Your emails won't be returned, even when they give you an estimated date of getting back to you...you MIGHT get something 2-3 weeks after that. I'm sorry, but if I'm going to pay you for a service, I expect to be treated with the same respect as Joe Millionaire.
Best accounting and finacial services in NC or SC. Thank you for everything you do for my family. Both my wife and I are teachers. We have always been treated very nicely by all employees AND the owner.
I LOVE THESE CPAS. I have worked with SOOOOOOOO many over the course of our business and this is the first firm that I feel like I can truly trust. THANK YOU BNA!!!!!!!!
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
