Customer Reviews

The staff at Bordeaux, Spillane, & Zahul are amazing - over all the many years that they have been working on our taxes, they utilize tax laws to our advantage but are still conservative enough not to cut corners when it comes to filing our tax returns. Very knowledgeable and professional - expeditious tax return filing!

Bordeaux & Zahul CPAs are very easy to work with and knowledgable about many aspects of business accounting. Very patient and answer questions. Support staff and overall team is also nice to work with. Recommended!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Bordeaux & Company, CPA, PA. Jennie Bordeaux has provided Top Shelf Services with Fantastic Results. Her services have been Timely, Mindful, Personal and Conclusive. She is an important resource for both my personal and business tax needs. I'm thankful to know I can turn to her for my tax needs. She's the best.

We have used Jennie Bordeaux for many years to prepare our tax returns. Her professionalism, thoroughness, and promptness keep us coming back to her as very satisfied clients. Whether for individual or business accounting/tax needs, Bordeaux & Company will get the job done right.

Bordeaux and Company and in particular, Jennie Bordeaux couldn't have been more helpful, professional and reliable. I have worked with Jennie for years and as much as no one enjoys working on taxes, she makes it easy to organize everything and is always available to answer any questions. She's 5 stars in my book!

Bordeaux & Company is, by far, the BEST of the multiple CPA firms I've hired over the years for my various businesses in several states. In order to say anything other that that, I'd have to make something up! Jennie Bordeaux made an impressive commitment to me and my business in Wellington and I, quite simply, don't know how I would have managed without her skills, hard work and personal support. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Bordeaux & Co CPA tax prep could not be more organized or easier. Jennie e-mails out a tax prep organizer well in advance. All necessary documents and information is listed in an easy check list format. She e-mails with any questions for clarity, and makes herself available for a discussion by phone or return e-mail Super responsive and clear !

Great personal tax services. Jennie is very knowledgeable and provides prompt, accurate and valuable information. She is honest and trustworthy. These qualities are extremely important to me when dealing with taxes and financial matters. I would definitely recommend her and her company.

As a business development consultant it was important that I have an accountant that specialized in small businesses and understood the importance of growing honestly and ethically. Bordeaux & Company has proven to be a great fit for me and my clients. Whether you're a start-up or tenured company, they're a key strategic partner, who provides sound advice as you grow your business. Jennie deserves 6 stars but that wasn't an option.

Bordeaux & Company has been doing my corporate and personal taxes for many years . Jennie is a very competent CPA . Our returns are always filed on a timely basis and always done well. It's a pleasure dealing with a small CPA firm . Rather than a large CPA firm , Bordeaux & Company knows their clients personally.

I called this company on a Wednesday, was hung up on without answering (rapid pickup and hang-up). I called right back asking for an appointment and this time the receptionist took my name and information. She refused to set an appointment for me, but stated that the CPA would call me back that day or the next. Well, it's almost 2 weeks later and no call back. Apparently this company is too busy to take new clients or else my financial needs weren't large enough to be deemed important by this company. I

Excellent CPA Tax Services! I have used Jennie and her company to file my last 5 years worth of tax returns. She always returns phone calls and emails in a timely manor, especially around tax season. I strongly recommend her CPA advisory services and filing personal and business tax returns.

This was my first experience with Bordeaux & Company, and CEO Jennie Bordeaux was patient, thoughtful, thorough in all her dealings with me. I feel confident about my return because of her level of care and expertise.

If you want an accounting firm either for your business or individual needs, Bordeaux Spillane & Zahul will do an excellent job for you. Over the years, I have been impressed with their professionalism and results. Bill Brewster

I have entrusted Jennie Bordeaux with my finances for years. She has always been very realiable and extremely easy and pleasent to work with. I highly recommend her.

Bordeaux & Company has been handling our taxes and financial advising for 5 years and we have always been satisfied with their expertise and professionalism. Highly recommend!

Jennie has prepared my taxes for about 10 years. She's always been very approachable and very responsive. I highly recommend her practice.

Been with the firm of Bordeaux CPA now for over 10 years. They have been a backbone to our company and helped us grow from a 5 person company to a 50 person company, through proactive consulting, reliability and excellence. We are fortunate to have them as our Accounting Partner.

Jennie has been doing my taxes for many years. She is patient, consistent and thorough. I could probably do it myself, but why would I want to. I will leave it up to the professional; which Jennie is!

Jeannie has been our accountant since we moved to Florida about 13 years ago, they are very professional and she will remain my accountant for as long as we are in Florida. They also take care of my Mom. Highly recommended...

Always do a great job and explain anything I ask.

Mr. Zahul goes out of his way to make your experience a positive one. His timely business advice is very much appreciated.

She has been my CPA and savior since 2008 and she will be my CPA for life. Personal service and professionalism is what makes her stand apart from the rest.

Bordeaux & Company, CPA, PA. The experience was terrible, they left my accounting undone for the year 2022 and got a penalty form the IRS.

I trust Jenny to give me the best advice. She is easy to work with and helpful in answering all my questions.

Nice work George and Co. you made the whole tax return experience easy to understand. A very helpful office Thanks again!

We have done our business and personnel taxes with Jennie & Co. since 2009. They have earned all 5 stars posted here.

I've worked with several CPA's and none of them seemed to know what they are doing until I started working with the Bordeaux company.

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
