Customer Reviews

Busy Bee has been taking care of my taxes for several years. I trust him to do a complete and thorough job, keep me out of trouble and to find all of the tax deductions authorized. He also keeps me up to date on all of the changes that occur for the current year. I happily recommend Busy Bee for any person or business needing tax assistance.

I contracted with Busy Bee Advisors for bookkeeping services scheduled to begin in 2025. However, they attempted to charge us for all of 2024?a year during which our company did not exist (it was founded in December 2024) and received no services whatsoever. I was dealing directly with Julie Tingley, who, despite multiple requests, failed to provide any documentation or explanation to justify the $3,890 charge. Instead of resolving the matter professionally, she threatened to send the unsubstantiated debt

We have used Busy Bee for the last few years and have been greatly satisfied! Our taxes get done quickly as well as questions answered through email. We are extremely happy and don't plan on going anywhere else. Thank you so much Busy Bee!

Their team is knowledgeable and responsive. Excellent customer service and support. As a business-owning mom with a lot to learn and track, their tax and bookkeeping team is extremely valuable. My investment with them is an investment in our family time.

Busy Bee is literally the best. I've been with Eric and his team for about a year now, and the only ?bad? thing I can say is that I wish I had engaged them earlier. Much earlier! Busy Bee provides expert, timely, personalized, proactive advice and services, and they are incredible advisors and people! I highly, highly recommend that you engage with them asap!

I would like to share my experience with Busy Bee Advisors. I needed to find a new accountant after 10 years with my previous tax preparers. I'm semi retired and have several income streams, so it's a fairly complicated tax return. I was very impressed on how quickly and thorough they prepared my return. I was also filing married/jointly for the very first time and they were great at answering all my questions. And I was very pleased with the results, a lot less tax than I was expecting to pay. I can h

I've had a very poor experience with BusyBee advisors. They have kept my books poorly, tossed me around different bookkeepers and have no respect for my time. I do not recommend their services.

We are new customers to Eric and so far he has save us quite a lot of money on our taxes. We continue to work with him to develop the best tax strategy to minimize our tax liability. We really enjoy working with Eric and look forward to continued savings. We are also working with BusyBee book keeping and feel it's the best combination to ensure the books are right all year long thus making tax preparation easier and more efficient. So far we are big fans of Eric, what he saved us in one year alone was amazi

My company hired Busy Bee Advisors to help with our business taxes we had an awesome experience. Not only were they incredibly knowledgeable and helpful throughout the process but they were punctual, efficient and really easy to work with. I highly recommend working with them.

The owner of busy bee, Melissa, called me right on time, and we had a very chill discussion about three things I needed handled. She was very frank about what she felt busy bee could do, and what could be done elsewhere, anymore, cost-effective manner. She asked me to send her some documents so we could have a follow up call so she could give me her final opinion. Very to the point, and generous with your time, professional, and helpful. Bill C ? Eric and Busy Bee Advisors came in for a win for me this year! I just started my business and they were there for so many questions and concerns. They were always quick to respond and did my taxes seamlessly. I would recommend them to anyone! Thank you all!

Great people to work with - friendly, knowledgeable, responsive. The bookeepers are very nice and helpful. The cpa takes complicated tax strategies and information and delivers them in a way that's easy to understand and implement. I really enjoy working with the whole team.

Eric is terrific! He has been doing our taxes for a few years now and has always exceeded our expectations. He charges a fair price for his fast, friendly, accurate and detailed work. We are not always organized and he is flexible and helpful in making sure we have everything accounted for.

I found Busy Bee last year, They helped me fix past years tax return, Found a ton of missing deductions. Helped me incorporate my sole proprietor business into an S-corp, Put in place a fabulous tax strategy for my newly formed business and uncovered so many new tax advantages we were missing out on. Highly recommend giving them a call to discuss what they can do for you!

I have been a client at BusyBee for about the last year. It's been a great experience they've been on time and prompt for all of our requests. It has literally been a pleasure to work with them, You guys are the best thanks for all of your hard work.

Clear and efficient! Eric is wonderful to work with.

I went to Busybee because they were highly recommended and I only had one problem. They said they couldn't get ahold of me. Then I noticed that I had accidentally blocked them probably because I get so many scam calls I screen them and if no voicemail I block them. So if anyone wants to get ahold of me please leave a message

I am a retired senior and Eric understands the issues I face when doing my taxes. His fees are reasonable and he works within budget and timeline. He communicates well with me given I am technologically challenged.

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
