This is a long overdue review...switching over to Button & Button CPA is one of the best decisions I ever made for my business! It is such a relief knowing that my accounting is being taken care of so I can focus more on running and growing my business. Not to mention how much money I have saved on taxes :)
I?ve been working with Don Button for almost 2 years and have recommended him to numerous friends and clients. In just the 1st 6 months working with Don he not only saved me 3-5 hours of my own time each month I was wasting doing my own bookkeeping, but he helped us streamline our busines and finally set up a retirement savings portfolio for our employees. By actually looking at our business and treating us as the most important customer he made it a no brainer to work with him after years of tolerating sub
Don Button and this team have been amazing to work with. Everything is so organized and easy to access. If I ever have any questions or needs it?s literally minutes and they?ve replied and helped us with what we need. Very satisfied with them and if you?re looking for a CPA... look no further!
Don Button is an outstanding CPA that understands small business owners and what they need to be successful. His entire office looks out for each client's best interests. I value Don's friendship and respect his integrity.
Our business has employed Donald Button, CPA for more than 10 years. Since tax laws change yearly we rely on their expertise with the IRS and NCDR to keep us on track with the payroll taxes, quarterly estimates, monthly P & L statements and filing the Corporate, State and Federal tax returns. Great group! Makes our job easier!
Don, Toni and the team do a tremendous job! I am a small business owner and have utilized their services for the last six years. They have greatly facilitated my business, lessened the burden of bookkeeping, IRS inquires, and payment of the appropriate taxes. You cannot go wrong with this team!
Exceptional service. Button and Button takes care of my bookkeeping and taxes, allowing me to concentrate on growing my business. I highly recommend their services for anyone with a small business.
I was referred to Mr. Button by a vendor for assistance with set up of small business clients. Found him to be very engaging and full of good ideas. Was very willing to help and answer my questions. Grateful! Thank you Mr. Button!!!
Best CPA?s in town!! I?ve been doing business with them for 20 years, and it?s always been top notch service. If you are looking to grow your business and learn more about accounting, I highly recommend this firm!
Was told an extension would be filed for my personal and business taxes two years in a row and the extensions were never filed. As a result my business received a penalty from the IRS. When I confronted Mr. Button he ?dismissed? me as a client. Negligent, seems overwhelmed and over charges for work.
Don Buttons team is awesome exceptional service an are always there whenever me an my team have any questions or concerns.
Great guy, Had opportunity to sit down and discuss just how the tax law changes in 2018 would affect my small business, and what I could do planning wise to optimize these changes.
Amazing team to work with! They have walked with me every step of the way and set me up for success!
Fantastic! He remembers every detail. Informative. On-time! Makes things easy for me.
The most efficient and professional people that I have dealt with.
Best thing since sliced bread!!
Great and Fast Communication
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
