Customer Reviews

Jim Wilhelm and the firm handle our taxes every year and they do an outstanding job. They make sure all your needs are taken care of and if your a new business owner they will take the time to walk you through the process so you don?t feel like your left behind. I will recommend them over and over again.

We have been using Campbell & Company services for several years. Upon arrival we are greeted in a corteous and professional manner. Mr. Wilhelm is very thorough at his job and is very personable. He takes time to answer any questions and always returns phone calls in a timely manner. We just wanted to say thanks to Mr. Wilhelm and Campbell & Company for giving us 5 star quality service every time.

My wife and I were seeking help with our personal and business taxes. We heard about this firm as a result of their extensive promotion on 99.9 WXJB. We reached out to them and were informed we had to schedule a telephone consultation with one of the partners to determine if we were a good fit. We had the consultation, which ended up being a very brief conversation with the partner. We were told that they focus on wealth management, and therefore we are not a good fit for their services. Just a heads up in

Campbell & Company, Jim Wilhelm specifically and his team have been incredibly helpful for our business. We are growing and acquiring a new business and we have been constantly requesting things from them for the past 6 months and they have been incredibly responsive and helpful in every way. We are so glad that we have this kind of support for our small but growing business. Thanks for all you do!

Having taken over my husband's software business after his passing in 2016, I was able to continue running it, as I was handling the bookkeeping, payroll, and reporting since 1994. However, when I moved from NY to FL, the task of moving the business was , to say the least, somewhat overwhelming. Beth, from Campbell & Company, made the process so easy that I'd forgotten why I was concerned in the first place. She provided clear explanations for my questions and never made me feel silly for asking them. I'm g

Campbell & Company always greets you with a smile. I have been getting my taxes done with them for the past few years and I am now stress free when it comes to filing my taxes. They are always professional, thorough and trustworthy. Highly recommended!

The staff at Campbell & Company makes tax season seem easy. They are professional, efficient and look after the best interest of their clients. I appreciate Jim and his staff for taking such good financial care of my family.

Jim Wilhelm of Campbell & Company helped us with a personal tax issue. I explained the situation in approximately 15 minutes, and in a very short amount of time, Jim had explained what I needed to know. He took time to not only answer my question, but also, told me what I would need to do in the future in a situation which could arise. Jim Campbell is efficient, knowledgable and professional. I highly recommend him for financial needs.

The staff here are great and always nice to deal with, its always clean and they seem very knowledgeable and try to help. I understand that everyone makes mistakes and I am certain that is what happened in our case but since we were new clients they asked for our prior year returns and somehow got some of the prior year returns into the current year taxes and it caused a long delay getting our return. In the end the IRS caught the error and they had to correct it in order for us to get our corrected return

I have used another company prior to using Jim and his team at Cambell & Company, all I have to say is hands down this man is great at what he does. Jim is very informative and delivered tons of extra info regarding deductions and extra tax savings I can take advantage of. Jim is all about helping you save money on your taxes weather it be for personal or business. This year my family depends on Jim to take care of our taxes and makes sure there's no hiddin surprises in the future! Thanks again Jim

Sat with Jim Wilhelm in 2018 and was assured assistance with a difficult accounting problem and received a condescending Dear John letter in December 2021 stating that the service they provide "didn't fit my needs", which was completing a tax return. I felt very betrayed and left in a lurch. Every tax return to that date had been late, two of them on me, two of them on Jim. Every year, a new CPA was assigned to relearn the challenges of our return, and last year they changed their processes without telli

Campbell and Company has done our personal and business returns since we moved here in 2004. They have always given us top notch service, and we have happily recommended them to many of our family and friends! If you're looking for extremely knowledgeable and professional people, then, this is your place!

Jim Wilhelm is the guy to go to for your tax preparation. If you own a property or properties he can help you optimize depreciation expenses. Honest and very knowledgeable, I highly recommend him!!

I had Jim Wilhelm do my taxes last year, and he saved me money. This year Margaret did my mother?s, the family trust, mine and my daughter?s taxes. She saved me money, and they charged me way less then a former family friend of forty years on the family trust. I would recommend them for all your accounting needs.

Jim is super helpful and professional and was able to answer all of my questions. This created a lot of clarity for me with my current situation. I highly recommend this business. Even if you just need to ask some questions and want to do so comfortably, this is the place to go.

Jim is extremely sharp, he is detail oriented and has an eye to find ways to decrease taxes paid to the IRS for both business and personal tax returns. I highly recommend campbell and Co.

I personally know Jim Wilhelm and I have many clients that use this company. This team does great work, they are honest, capable, and easy to work with. I highly recommend them for your tax and accounting needs

A++++!! Jill, Jim, and all staff are vital to managing our taxes, staying financially organized, and keeping our business moving forward. They have gone above and beyond with anything and everything I?ve brought to them. I used to call my mom before I made any financial decisions, now I call Jim instead...sorry Mom!!!

Went to this firm with high expectations, experience was disappointing. In a nutshell, shuffled to three different CPAs, second would not return my calls. Had to get document from previous accountant faxed twice as they misplaced first fax. When filing deadline came they wanted to do extension, I did not. Initially I received a $1300 refund but was notified by the IRS a form was missing. I secured the form, which I felt was an oversight on the original tax return they filled. Was charged $140.00 for 5

I've always heard great news about Campbell and Co/PFA. They are one of the best CPA firms in the Spring Hill area. I highly recommend them not only for tax planning advice but because they do truly care about their clients and strive to form lasting relationships with each of them.

Jim and his staff have been excellent! They?ve helped me fix all the tax issues I had with such patience and were always available to answer any questions I needed. They have a beautiful office with tons of refreshments as well

Mr Jim Wilhelm handles all our taxes. He does a wonderful job! He answers all questions and is very honest. Thank you so much for a great experience!

Jim is GREAT and explained everything so perfectly and easily so we actually understood what was happening with our taxes for the first time, love that he takes time to go through as much information as you want to, answered every question we had and had our taxes done right and on time even right in the middle of all the corona craziness, has a great team too because every person we have interacted with from his office throughout this process has been super knowledgeable and friendly, and he's been quick t

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
