I have be using Sloan Carr CPAs since 1999. Excellent service, staff and turn around time. Highly recommend.
I've been going here for a few years you don't get to meet with the person doing your taxes except for the lady at the front desk upfront forward they call you when they're done doing your taxes you pay the bill and walk out that's it you don't need anyone other than the secretary
I have used many CPA's thru out the years and Rocky at CARR CPA is by far the best. He has always been able to answer all my tax questions & gives awesome tax advice for our business & personal tax needs. Very professional & he truly cares about his clients concerns. So grateful to find such an awesome CPA!!
If you want your taxes done the right way this is the place. I love working with them as they are very knowledgeable and easy to work with. They are quick to respond if you have questions or concerns and as a business owner this means so much. Thank you Rocky and Shelly
I am giving a huge shout out to CARR CPA services! This is a very professional service with the added feel of family. I actually enjoy doing my taxes, or having them done for me. I don't feel like it's an us vs them experience. Everything is explained at a layperson's level which helps me to understand and learn what it going on. Thank you to the staff and "The Rock"!
Sloan Carr did a fantastic job with my taxes. She went above and beyond to understand my tax situation and helped me save a good deal of money on my return. Everyone at the office is extremely friendly, responsive, and professional. I would highly recommend Carr CPAs to anyone!
We've been having Rockwell Carr do our taxes for years now. Multiple businesses and personal taxes. We enlisted Carr CPAs when it started taking too much time to do it ourselves. Rockwell is efficient and timely and the prices are really reasonable. Anyone that comments otherwise I would expect not to have received many, if any, professional quotes to compare.
After my CPA of 18 years retired I had to find someone new who understands and cares about small businesses. Luckily, I found Rockwell at Carr CPAs. Excellent service and genuine concern; he took all the time necessary to understand my business tax needs. Very professional.
6 years of knowledgeable guidance! Carr CPAs has never lead me astray. Excellent and friendly service, hard working staff. Many years of knowledge and willing to sit and explain. Taking the time for a client means so much; I know I'm not lost in the shuffle. I unreservedly recommend them. Thank you so much Carr CPAs, greatly appreciated.
I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have had the pleasure of working with Carr CPAs. Not only were they incredibly professional and friendly, but they helped me with an amended return that I tried to do with H&R(when H&R stopped helping) . They got me a SIGNIFICANTLY higher return amount while also getting me an opportunity to put more into my IRA. I will never use any other tax place again. I try not to think about all of the money I've been missing out on all of these years before utilizing their
First year experience...I wasn't sure about itemizing so I went to them but even then I came up with the exact same numbers through Tax Act and Turbo tax as they did I should've filed on my own and saved some money. Second year they tried to charge double what I paid the first year and again got the same numbers as they. They don't offer any special help unless you pay a ridiculous amount. May as well go to H & R block, Liberty, or do it yourself online for better pricing with the same exact results or look
Came here last year, will be returning every year! Very professional, friendly, and prompt service. They worked hard to make sure I got the best refund possible, may more so than any other place I have gone to have my taxes done. Everyone was more concerned with getting me as much of my refund as they could rather than making sure they make a profit. Wonderful family owned business- don't settle for a chain when it comes to your taxes! Update: wrote that first review last year, wanted to add that they helpe
I've used Sloan Carr for years! Always satisfied and my tax returns can be complicated because I work and reside in different states and have a 2nd hone out of state. It seems complicated to me, but Sloan handle it with aplomb!
I met with Mr. Carr in order to obtain information related to taxes about a transaction that I was considering. He listened attentively, asked excellent questions, and then provided me with excellent advice. In addition, he provided me with other related information that I had not considered. I recommend him highly! If I need further assistance, I will definitely go to Carr CPAs, LLC!!
Sloan Carr and her staff have worked on our taxes for the last 12 years, and it is always a pleasure! Professional, thorough, friendly, and reasonable.
Don't go there if you have a simple return. $200 for putting a w2 in the computer. and asking a few questions. She was going to charge me $300 until I said something. I was in there maybe 25 min. I will be using Turbo Tax next year.
Great people. Courteous, timely, and accurate. They are truly dedicated to their clients, and their guidance has always served me well. Would recommend to anyone.
I worked with Rockwell and was quite happy with the result. If you need tax work, have questions, etc....call these guys.
Fast appointment and Rockwell is personable as well as knowledgeable. Fairy quick turnaround.
These folks are the real deal. I have been through my share of CPA's and they are responsive, accurate and helpful, and also nice people. Dale Bohannon
Been going to Sloan since 2006, always satisfied with her expertise and professionalism.
Extremely professional service! I was absolutely confident I was getting it done right! I recommend them!
Fabulous lady with incredible knowledge and outstanding professionalism. Thank you Ms. Carr
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
