I do my taxes with them for over 25 years. Sal used to my taxes after he got health issues then Benny used to help me but switch to Manny as choice and i have been very happy with him i really recommend them

Don?t do business with them. The owner said he could do a 501-c3 for our non profit. But when I contacted the iIRS if they received the paperwork, IRS said they never received anything from filings the 501 C-3. We confronted the owner and he can?t handle confrontations. He just claimed his blood pressure was going up and all this b.s. on his health. He pocketed the money and who knows what he did but was was caught in the end. If you value your money and time go to a reputable business. They are croo

Don't listen to negative reviews, I've been doing taxes for almost 20 years and so far never had any problems. I won't tell you I recommend this place but I sure can tell you to experience it for yourself. They've been great to me.

I went for the first time ever to do my taxes at this office I should've known better, someone is even saying they are not accredited. No help at all just dismissing and confusing customers when they're the ones inputting incorrect information. If they have random people who don?t even know what they?re doing why are they open? Definitely do not recommend to anyone especially people they can take advantage of.

I recommended John to my family because my experience with him from 2010 - 2016 was very pleasant but my family left his office offended and disgusted, upset with the way he treated them and now I want to tell everyone to please do not go to the Castellanos income tax service . John spoke to my family like if they were criminals, it is not up to him to say who is and who is not worth of anything who made him jury and judge to say that someone doesn't deserve anything in return when they come to you for help

I being doing my declaration for the past 12 years and never had any problems, this place help you to get the more than even H&R block they not to friendly but they are very honest. A guy named Benny, it's hard to understand when he talks but do a great job every year.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I definitely would. Do not get your taxes done here! The receptionist is rude, has no patience, and has a bad attitude. If you do not like people, then do not work with people! She has horrible customer service skills. She is literally just a receptionist but acts like she owns the place. Now, she has her daughter working here too. The person who did my taxes was Isabella. That ?lady? is just as bad, she charged a larger amount than what I remember, and when I asked her a

Hands down the best service! You can?t go wrong here. They are super helpful, informative and knowledgeable.

The person that did my taxes messed them up it's been 8 months and no one wants to help me fix my problem not the taxs person or the manager. Very unprofessional and I'm tired of all the back an fourths between your office and the IRS people! You guys made the mistake and it should be your responsibility to fix it!

They treat you like family there. I have been coming here for about 30 years already. I would recommend this place to everyone. In fact I have.

Been going to Castellanos, officially Anthony, for about 10 years. They only take appointments on Sunday. The other days are first come, first served. Always fast, friendly, efficient and affordable.

Don?t trust this place they do anything to bring in people including fraud I paid for all my wife?s stuff bills I have receipts and they choose to make her head of house hold? This is fraud and I will be taking legal action. Do not come here.

(Translated by Google) Avoid this place, they charge a lot and make many mistakes. I went to another office, they reviewed me for 3 years and they saw that they did not put me as head of the house and I have small children that I pay for a babysitter and that was not added, I lost a lot of money and now it cannot be corrected. I recommend this other place, very cheaper and very helpful. Pacific Professional Income Tx is in Huntington Park, 10 minutes away and has plenty of parking. (Original) Eviten este

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
