I have used Chapman Accounting for several years for my business and personal accounting needs. Eddie and his team are outstanding to work with. They are always prompt and willing to assist in any they can. I approached Eddie with a significant problem caused by my previous accountant. His determination and diligence provided a solution that worked great for everyone. I would recommend Chapman Accounting to anyone who needs help navigating their accounting and payroll issues.
We have used Chapman Accounting since we opened our small business in 2017. Eddie and all the staff at Chapman Accounting take time to answer my tedious questions with patience and they don't mind explaining confusing tax concepts to me. They are very professional and knowledgeable, staying up to date with the latest rules and regulations. Eddie and his team are rule-followers to the letter, so I am confident that my taxes are done correctly and accurately. I highly recommend Chapman Accounting Solutions!
As the other review states. If you want your taxes handled in a timley manner do not use this company. Extremely unprofessional, will tell you that you have a big project and push it off for months. I followed up often on when my taxes would be done and got the same story each time. "It's tax season and we are so backed up, do we make 1 customer mad or 20" Or "this is a big project we are working on it" Took them 6 months to get to my taxes
I have known Eddie personally and used Chapman accounting for many years. As a small business owner, their team has been an absolute joy to work with. They've helped me with payroll, R&D tax credits, and so many other things along our journey. If I could rate them 10 stars, I would do so.
Eddie Chapman and his staff are very professional and have processed my taxes for me personally for over 5 years and now handle my business as well as my husbands. They are always courteous and prompt to return phone calls and explain all the things I do not understand. I do recommend to all who ask!!!
I have nothing but praise for Chapman Accounting Solutions! We have worked with them for 8 years and have recommended them to our family and friends. We have moved out of the area but we still turn to Eddie for all our accounting needs. Highly recommended!
We have been a client of Chapman Accounting Solutions for over 9 years. Eddie and his entire staff have been extremely professional and helpful with all of our questions and concerns with our business and personal accounts. Highly recommended!!
Mr. Chapman and his team have helped me and my business for several years. They?ve helped me with retirement and investment tax advice also. All members of Eddy?s team have always been professional and extremely detailed in the handling of our personal and business taxes!!!!
Chapman accounting is the only accountant I trust with my taxes, business, and personal needs. Eddie was able to straighten out what I brought to him and has kept me on the right path ever since. Highly recommend!
Eddie has helped us get our business and personal taxes done for the last several years. He's very knowledgeable and doesn't try to oversell us. He's straight to the point and we love working with him.
I?ve used Eddie for years now with personal and now business accounting. I no think they do a great job with fair pricing. He?s got a solid, helpful, and personable staff.
We had some complications with our taxes this year and called to see about setting up an appointment. The lady that answered the phone was rude and did not seem interested in helping. She just said to ?Google it?. We did Google it and had questions, which is why we were calling? ?? Edit based on the reply from the business- an in person meeting for advice and guidance is what we were trying to do, and willing to pay for.
Very responsive and have handled our business and personal taxes for many years.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
