We've been clients of Clark & Associates for several years now. They are thorough and complete, personable and professional. Highly recommend!
Randy knows his stuff. I learned that he has years in corporate accounting and uses this background to provide clarity for small business owners into our financial pictures. His experience is very welcomed.
I searched online and called many CPA firms looking for help with a tax issue. After many no returned calls and/or emails from CPAs in the area, Leah from Clark and Associates sent an email offering help. Nothing but good things to say about the business. The staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I found the location and business hours convenient, but many options were presented in case i didn't have time to stop by. So glad to work with a great firm.
We found Clark & Associates via the the bulletin at St Anthony in Renton and hired them to do our tax return. They did our taxes for one tax year and, out of the blue and without explanation, sent us an email and certified letter saying that they would no longer be working with us. They did good work but I wish we had gone with someone else - had we known they would no longer want to work with us, without explanation, we would have chosen a different firm (saving everyone a lot of time and effort). We also
I just received a refund from the IRS for changes to my 2020 form 1040 along with interest. The professional, knowledgeable, caring services I received from Clark & Associates made this possible. I recommend their services to my best of friends.
Randy did my taxes for 2017. We started a business and I decided it was time to hire a professional. I had never paid so much for an accountant in my life, however, it was worth every penny. Randy found a state tax that I had been paying, but should not have been paying due to the type of business we are in. He showed me how to file amendments to my state taxes for the two years that I paid a tax that I should not have been paying. I ended up getting a refund from the state for almost $4900. That one adjust
It was so easy to work with the entire team and they were always so responsive! It was easy for me to use their client portal to upload 50+ documents and add notes for items that needed a little more explanation. Any questions I had were answered quickly and thoroughly so I understood the "why" of it instead of just the "what". We participated in a 1031 exchange last year and were overwhelmed with the details of figuring out the tax implications, but our worries all went away once we handed over the documen
My interaction with Randy have been more as a colleague than as a customer. I have known him for about a half a year and meet with him each week in a business group. I have also seen him at a number of chamber of commerce events and attended his presentation regarding Quick Books. My impression is of an intelligent and ethical man. His knowledge and ability go beyond number crunching and tax prearation. His experience with business gives him unique insight and capabilities to do everything from projecting
I work a job as well as having a significant self-employed side job. After the biggest year of my side career I quickly realized that I was in over my head. They quickly assisted me in submitting an extension for my tax return, and worked me in when other firms declined to help. It?s not over yet, but they?ve been able to make sense of heaps of paperwork and homemade spreadsheets, and I am very pleased with their service so far.
They helped us with a complicated case involving inherited assets and business, providing crucial expertise and guidance. They are very knowledgeable, friendly, and pretty good communicators. Definitely will use them in the future
Clark & Associates have been a trusted advisor and our tax preparer for a number of years. I wouldn't take my tax needs anywhere else.
Randy does great work. I would highly recommend him for anyone looking to utilize a competent CPA to help with tax planning
Worked with Thomas and he looked at my crypto currency transactions and after realizing that they were unable to calculate them in a timely fashion (which is understandable), he reached out and told me that he was opting out of doing it. I then replied back and asked for clarification and whether I could still use the firm for the rest of my taxes and got nothing back. A week later I tried again asking for a status and still nothing. I then called a few days after the last email and asked to leave a mess
Randy and his team are great! They keep me updated with both personal and business taxes. I feel like I'm very important. Very professional.
David & I are impressed with the new offices in Tukwila and personal service of Mr. Clark and Curtis who worked tirelessly, beyond our expectations, to explain and get evrything out on time. Also thanks to friendly office staff who kept us informed in covid masks & full protocol.
Randy Clark, CPA isn't just an accountant, he understands a lot about business and helps us make better decisions regarding taxes and our future. He has also become a friend.
Very professional, knowledgeable, willing to help in any way. I feel very confident my personal taxes are in great shape.
Clark & Associates is the best! We use them for our business and personal taxes!
Amazing service all around. Would recommend!
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
