Does not have experience doing expats taxes, incorrectly thinks that I can't claim QBI on the remaining earnings that are left after the FEIE deduction. Refuses to do the 1040 schedule NR for the sc taxes even though I've been out of the country since 2023. Refuses to give me a refund for the money paid because "work to prepare the return has already been completed" but if I allow them to file I lose thousands of dollars because they don't know what they are doing. Edit: look at their response they actu
This team is fantastic. They are very knowledgeable and professional. I have had my taxes filed by Clockwork since 2018. KayLynn was recommended to me by a work associate and I've been recommending her to anyone and everyone I work with. Even during the busy tax season, her and her staff are very prompt and responsive. I have zero complaints and nothing but kudos to all of you. My hat is off to you all! Cheers!
We are pleased with the consistent level of service provided by Clockwork Accounting and Tax Services, as they are efficient and professional, and moreover the fee is fair and you receive value for money. No question goes unanswered, and when questions are emailed, there is often a same-day response, enabling a quick turnaround on tax filings for example. KayLynn has handled our tax affairs for the past seven years and we would not look elsewhere for this service. We were glad to hear KayLynn had opened her
We started with KayLynn for the first time this year. She was great! Our taxes were done in a timely manner and she was able to answer all our questions. She was easy to talk to and we left feeling that our taxes were done correctly. We will definitely be using her again next year!!!
Outstanding! I've been with KayLynn for several yearsI can't give enough praise for the service I have received from her and Clockwork Accounting. Any question or concern i have had was answered quickly and explained thoroughly so even a non-financial genius like me could understand. I am impressed constantly at how fast the returns are prepared and I have the utmost confidence that the return prepared for me ensures that i do not pay one cent more, or less, tax than I am required to. The financial advise
I had the best experience this year with Clockwork Acc & Tax Services! I have never done my taxes with a company before and this was the best decision that I have made for my personal investments! They were so helpful and QUICK! I got more returns than I expected and everything was done in such a timely and friendly manner!
KayLynn is AWESOME. Hands down the best CPA I've worked with. She helped prepare all financial records for a legal dispute and we would not have won without her help. Could not recommend her more highly!
Clockwork Accounting does a great job with taxes and they are very fast!! I would recommend their service over trying to do it yourself, as then you will have the peace of mind knowing it was done right!!
Very pleased with the professional and caring service. The willingness to take the time needed to answer questions and make sure it was done right is hard to find in this fast paced world. Plus you get a great value for your money .????
KayLynn has been doing my taxes for many years and has done a great job.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
