Customer Reviews

This group is amazing to work with! Philip is so knowledgeable and patient as we made our decision to switch groups. Really appreciate the entire team and looking forward to many years of wise financial assistance :)

I am so impressed with Copley Financial Group. After attending a social security seminar for retirement presentation at the local community center, I made an appointment to sit down with Dave to learn more. He is knowledgeable and very professional and has taught me so much about making vast financial choices. He is also very patient with my many questions and promptly gets back to me and my family with any follow-up information. During the past few years, when the market fluctuated due to circumstances suc

If I could give zero stars, I would. first of all, i had two accounts under this company. One was mine and the other was my family member. I trusted them with an Agressive growth account, in the two years, as I am still young, managed by them, transparency and communication was horrible. Even after i closed my account and told Philip to liquidate my acct. He took over two weeks to sell off which led to a loss of about 400. I started the account with 5k, in those two years, the growth only was equivalent to

We switched to Copley Financial several months ago. Wish we had done it sooner! Regardless. they had a comprehensive and thoughtful plan for us in no time that made it easy to sleep at night once we took the plunge a year ago. Their amiable, smart and responsive team has made our communications easy and efficient, explaining options and never talking over our heads. We appreciate the tax knowledge as well. A big plus! All in all, we are glad to be part of the Copley client family and know that we will be ta

My husband grew up knowing the Copley family, so we had confidence that the Group would likely help us to organize our finances well, but we really had no idea how incredibly welcoming and accommodating they would be. Once we met with them, they not only diversified our portfolio in such a way that the ?hit? during Covid-19 was minimal (and still recovering!), but they also created our Family Trust at an incredibly reasonable price, and our finances are protected there, too. I cannot say enough good things

Absolute pros and by far the best advisors I've had. They are incredibly knowledgeable and take the time and care for each client and listen to your needs and develop a customized plan. They've saved me a lot of time, stress and money. 100%recommend and we will be using Copley for all of our future financial needs!

Attentive, Involved, Personal Service. Matt Copley is willing and able to guide us through our unique needs and decisions. We are very happy with the relationship and the results. Jessica is a real PRO, helpful and delightful to work with. The periodic Dinner/Investment Guidance Seminars are really helpful, Matt and team bring in seasoned successful Investment Professionals at the top of their game to give us a good sense of what's going on and the near future of Investments. We are really Blessed to have t

Under the guidance of Dave Magee, we incurred significant financial losses totaling over $105,000. His recommendation of an annuity account for our 401K resulted in losses exceeding $55,000, while he profited from selling us this policy without disclosure. Moreover, his advice on another supposedly "can't lose' investment led to an additional loss of $50,000, with no subsequent communication or guidance from him. Beware of this Financial Advisory Group.

There was no transparency in the way my money was managed. Alot of confusing metrics and stock market analytics. When I questioned some accounts that I had concerns about, i.e. either losing money on a specific account or annuities that were not producing as advised, I was told that they would monitor it (which is what should've been done in the first place) or offered another annuity to replace the original one which was recommended in the first place! I have to wonder another commission??

We have had a wonderful experience with the Copley team, and they have given us sound investment and retirement planning advice. They are attentive, prompt and responsive to our concerns/needs, as well as the changes to the market. We feel they have managed our funds in an exceptional manner, and would highly recommend them.

Copley Financial has been knowledgeable, professional and transparent with my investment strategies. I highly recommend these guys after having a couple previous investment managers with mediocre results.

Mr. Matthew Copley, Jessica and the rest of his team are experts in their fields. I am so happy to have taken my family's recommendation of him since he made the Trust writing process so quick and easy to understand. Jessica is very prompt in returning my messages and they are all very professional. We have various family members who go to Matthew for financial planning needs and I am so glad I took their advice to see him as well. I highly recommend their services!

I never understood how important it is to have a ?relationship ? with your financial advisor! Troy always checks on me and my finances and answers my questions immediately! They are such a great group and make the best decisions! I am so blessed to have found them and I trust them with everything! They even helped me do my Trust which was the biggest load off my shoulders! Thank you to everyone at Copley !

Words can't express the pleasure of working with Dave Magee. For several years he has made it his mission to keep me informed and educated on the market. Dave has provided me great comfort through wise counsel and the easy steps to follow to ensure my financial goals remained on track.

Working with Matt and Troy has been a great experience. They have helped us with putting together a Trust and financial plan geared to our needs for now and the future. Very easy to communicate with and very responsive.

The financial advisors at Copley do an amazing job explaining not-so common financial topics and putting clients like myself at ease. I've been working with Troy and you can tell immediately that he's very knowledgeable and has integrity.

Mr. Klinger from Copley Financial has been my advisor for close to a year. He's always attentive to respond to questions and explains all the financial concepts in a simplified way. No jargon. He continues to excel with my personal finances. I highly recommend him.

Initially I was skeptical but Matt is the real deal - he is motivated to make my investments grow - he gets paid a percentage of what he makes for me. His success is tied to my success. This is a win-win situation and further motivates him to do well for his clients. He has skin in my game. On top of all that, he loves this stuff - investment strategies, tax laws, Social Security strategies. I wish I had found him sooner.

My family has been working with Mr. Copley for years. He has helped us save, and invest for over 5 years now. My parents and I trust him to grow what they have accumulated over time. We have the utmost respect and trust in him.

Originally attended a session in 2019. Very informative. Decided to meet at their office to set up two plans. Any questions that I had were answered with clarity. If I need to get in touch with Phil, my agent it was always a timely response. I would recommend this firm and was glad we did.

On behalf of my mother, I'd love to express my gratefulness for the service we received from Mr. Copley and Mr. Klinger at Copley Financial Group. From the first moment I reached out to enquire about my mother?s retirement, and through all the process, our questions and doubts were handled perfectly. We cannot thank you enough.

Matthew excels in accountability. He is a great listener and has a very simple way in communicating what's going on with the market trends to me. My portfolio is extremely grateful for Matt.

Philip helped me save for my son?s college education. He managed to explain to me things over and over until I fully understood everything. It's been a pleasure working with such a caring person that genuinely works for my best interest.

Kyle has handled our account with excellence and professionalism. He listened and understood our concerns and investment type, offered creative solutions that protected us in a down market, yet still grew our portfolio.

Very helpful, able to explain complex financial information and long-term financial strategies in terms my husband and I can understand and apply. We greatly appreciate their help with our retirement. Wish I had met them earlier in my work life

I've been getting advice from Kyle for over a year and I have nothing but good things to say about him. He's been very diligent about answering any question I've had. He has guided me as I've executed the plans he developed. I feel very benefited from his help and I do think of him as a friend.

I've known Matt for many years now and I couldn't recommend their business enough. You name it, sell your business, retirement planning, or just get your finances in order, these guys are the right advisors you want to work with.

Amazing people, never cease to help whoever they can! They do anything to achieve your financial goals here.

It's a pure joy to work with the staff of CFG Inc. They calmed down my parent?s fear of retiring and now they are enjoying their years as they should be.

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
