Rocco has taken care of all my tax needs for over 8 years now. My experience has been excellent and I could not recommend Rocco and his firm more highly. Rocco has always been professional, efficient, communicative, and gone above and beyond to take care of everything for me.
Rocco is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, making filing my taxes the least stressful and least complicated experience it can be. He works efficiently and answers any questions I may have along the way, and I really appreciate always having his neat and detailed documentation to save for my records. Do not hesitate to trust Rocco for any of your accounting needs, you will not be disappointed!
Rocco and the team were great to work with. We recently started a new small business, and they?ve helped us navigate forming our business and our new tax situation. They also proactively planned check-ins so that we can stay prepared for the next year. We expect to use their services for the foreseeable future!
Best accounting firm in Grand Rapids! Rocco is extremely helpful and we can trust he?s always putting in his best effort. Highly recommend!
I used to have my friend do my taxes for me, but he was no good at it. I heard about Count so I gave them a try. The experience was so much better! Mr. Muzio was very patient and professional with me. I will be coming back every year!
Had a great experience working with Caleb. He is attentive to details, and I am confident in his work. He will do a great job on your tax returns!
As a solo entrepreneur, taxes can be very daunting! Whether I?m taking all of the advantages I can be, reporting correctly - I am so thankful to have this team to help me. Rocco has made me confident that I am doing things correctly and efficiently, and getting all the tax advantages that are available to me!! He is very consultative and communicative- Answers every question I have had throughout the way! If you are thinking about working with this team, you absolutely need to!
Rocco was very helpful and prompt at responding to questions. Taxes were prepared quickly and easily.
Rocco is a very personable and professional accountant who gets the job done. Can?t recommend enough!
I would recommend Rocco 100%. His attention to even the smallest of details is absolutely what I was looking for, with both my personal and business tax returns. I will continue to put my trust in his business moving forward.
Rocco has helped me filed two partnership returns. He is very diligent and efficient. Highly recommend his work. He will take good care of you.
Worked with Rocco to get my taxes filed, and it was a painless experience for a reasonable price! He was timely and professional, and was pleasant to work with. Would have Count file my taxes again!
Great service and very professional. I loved working with Rocco and his team.
Rocco is great! Handled everything I needed.
I used to go to Barry here and he was great! Switched to Christine because she bought the firm and had a very bad experience. She made a bad assumption about payment vouchers that ended up with me owing the city, federal government and I fear the State as well because she misfiled. Getting a $1,000 bill from the federal government after you think it is all good did not sit well at all! When I brought this up to her she said it was my fault and that I should pay $500 for TurboTax instead of the $200 or so I
Restaurant owner here. Mr. Muzio is amazing. Not only does he have fair rates, he answers promptly and is on hand if I have any questions. As a small business, being able to ask questions without breaking the bank is a total gamechanger. I've hated dealing with accountants in the past. Mr. Muzio is a gem. I can't recommend him enough!
Doug has done my taxes for going on 6 years. Not one bad experience, ever. Rates are fair, very professional and always get my returns quickly. Highly recommend!
Quick, by the book taxes. Trust him year over year to complete taxes and any tax advice.
You will have a great experience here with Doug and Barry.
Always prompt and thorough. Friendly people with good rates!
Great staff.....Coral is the kindest person.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
