Great company! Great staff! I have been client for many years and never a problem. Everyone is so helpful and completely knowledgeable. David treats his clients fantastic and is always there for them. Office atmosphere is very calm and comfortable.
David and his team have been a giant help to me and my business for a very long time! I highly recommend them anything I can!
This was my first time going through the tax season process and David made it easy for me and explained every part of the process along the way. He met with me to discuss the details and was always there to answer a phone call or text. He was phenomenal in helping me, answering my questions, and ultimately helping me get the most out of the experience. I would 100% recommend Dave to anyone who is looking for a great accountant and person to help them during tax season. Awesome and kind gentleman as well!
Been using David Egan for years now. He is in my opinion the best CPA out there. He has been very helpful to me with my taxes. He is a good stand up guy, just make an appointment with him and you will see for yourself. If I could give him more than 5 stars I would.
David assisted with our taxes this year and it was one of the EASIEST things we did! Had a bunch of life milestones and he walked us through the whole thing! Always made sure to ask if we had questions or wanted clarification. Would recommend over and over!!
I started using David and his team about 2 years for my business/personal taxes. He is very knowledgeable in multiple fields and enjoyable to work with. We are very happy that we have found him. Highly recommended
Dave is a 5 star accountant!!! He's being doing my taxes for 4 years. He's incredibly knowledgeable but breaks it down in terms that I understand. He also has given me great advice on retirement and wealth building strategies. I've referred him to my friends and family and they are just as pleased with his services!!!
David and his team are extremely professional and most important , they understand our personal needs. Their expert advise is not limited to accounting but they are great financial planners as well. We have been using their services for over 20 years and highly recommend them.
David has always been a good help and resource over the years. I trust him to be knowledgeable about the many changing tax laws. Also, the office staff is quick to respond to my questions. Would definitely recommend David.
David has been my accountant for over 10 years. His team is great and supportive. They helped with my taxes even through Covid!
Couldn't find an account that was reliable. Was always getting they will call you back. When I found this firm Dave and his team took me on with all of what I thought were difficult questions and a messy set of books and turned that around along with guidance on how to maintain my records. Hands down the best.
I've been around the block with CPA's, David is the best so far. Every year I come back for my break down of my returns. He's able to explain why you're getting the return you are in a way a baby can understand! I suggest making an appointment ASAP!
I am a corporate attorney and have worked frequently with David and with clients of his firm. David is smart, resourceful and knowledgable. David and his staff are a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend him.
Dave and his staff are absolutely excellent making it easier every year to file my taxes and any questions I have they never hesitate to answer. 10/10
David is a very patient and wonderful CPA. He takes the time to help you to understand not only how and why your taxes are the way they are, he will review with you PRIOR to the end of the tax year strategies to be implemented to save your time, money and aggravation.
David Egan has been my accountant for years. I would recommend him to anyone/1 Great guy and works with me in New Jersey even though he is in NY. Always available to talk on the phone and easy to talk to in person.
David has a very nice personal style that makes you feel you are in good hands. He is always available to answer any question. Most importantly you personal and business taxes are done very professionally.
David and his team have definitely exceeded my expectations. Very welcoming and helpful during tax season for me the past few years I don?t see myself going to anyone else!
David and staff saved my posterior regarding tax returns. I was really disorganized with my records and he showed me the way. This is service that is seldom seen! Mr Egan is also a nice guy.
After an initial evaluation with David E., I had my taxes reviewed by another CPA who found a tax loophole that could have been applied and greatly reduced my liability. Can't trust a pseudo-professional who doesn't do a thorough analysis. From what I heard, he's also known for bad-mouthing clients and throwing throwing psychotic rage fits in the office. Adding poor customer service, I highly discourage doing business here.
Guy treats clients and his staff like you know what. Unprofessional, condescending, goes well with his short-tempered inattentive secretary. Doesn't have enough staff to keep up with the work. If you have self-respect, do business elsewhere.
A company's financial health is the backbone of its success, and should be trusted with the highest caliber of professionals. I trust Mr. Egan and his staff with the highest regards because they are responsive, timely, and detail-oriented. We treasure our partnership with Mr. Egan and his team and appreciate the dedication from both a professional and personal manner. We have been in business with Mr. Egan for over 20 years and will continue this partnership for as long as we are in business. And that too
Highly recommend David, I have been using him for years and would never go elsewhere!
David is a great guy. Very professional and easy going. Knew how to answer al my questions and I felt very comfortable with him.
I can't say enough good things about this company! Mr Egan has been handling my business and personal finances for years and I couldnt ask for better service. The staff, the service, and the knowledge cannot be matched at any other company.
I was so happy to find David Egan he is the first person that explained the best way to structure my business taxes so I am protected from paying unnecessary penalties throughout the year.
David truly cares about his clients. He is a very knowledgeable, helpful, resourceful, and responsive CPA.
Very professional. I?ve been hiring Mr. Egan for the last 5 years, and he?s great. I would recommend him to anyone.
One of the most knowledgeable in the business. I wouldn?t trust anyone else to handle all my tax needs
Thank you for your help with my business taxes again this year. Great Job!
poor handling of clients' concerns, gets angry when you want him to clarify something
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
