I had (and I am sure will continue to have) a great experience working with Diana M. Reed and Assoc., PC. They are professional, understanding, and always respectful of my time. I especially appreciate their support while I am abroad-they are responsive and helpful, making sure everything is handled smoothly for my accounts despite the time difference. Their dedication and clear communication made the whole process much easier. Additionally, they you make you feel part of a larger family, constantly doing w
We have been with Diana M Reed & Associates, working with Lori A, for years. We have always received prompt and accurate services. Lori is very clear and open with her communications. We have recommended this firm to all of our friends. We can imagine being with anyone else!
When a person or a company does a great job they need to hear that! Lori Althoff and the Team at Diana M. Reed & Associates are first class in all aspects of providing professional consultation and sincere customer service. They all take time to listen to what I need and develop the best approach to create the wise solution. In my 50+ years in business I have not found a firm that provides better customer focused solutions and stays engaged to make sure the expected results are achieved. I want all who read
I was referred to to Diane M Reed a few years ago by a number of coworkers. Their team, across the board, has been nothing short of amazing! They have made a stressful time of year stress free and also stay in touch throughout each year, to ensure we know they are there to support us. Thank you to Lori and her support team, you all are awesome!!!!
Lori Althoff has been our CPA for over five years, and we truly value her expertise, professionalism, and flexibility. She consistently provides knowledgeable guidance and has been a trusted partner in managing our financial needs.
Extremely rude Service. Overpriced and does not provide any justification. TurboTax is much easier because if you have investments, including real estate investments, they don't know how to handle them. I had to redo my taxes and it cost me a lot of money because they were clueless and did not put the necessary adjustments.
BEWARE!!! Ridiculously expensive. They charged me close to $1300 just to do my partner and I taxes. When i asked them for breakdown for what all they are charging me for, they said they dont have a breakdown and that they would have to make one for us. How do you charge someone this much for a service and dont even have a breakdown in hand. The only explanation they gave me was(i went back and forth to see what gave you guys the best return so thats why the higher price.)That is your job!!!! You are not sup
I?ve worked with Lori for years. She?s always done great by me, highly recommend. She?s very knowledgeable and quick to get things done.
My husband and I are searching for a new PC. We have our own business and rental properties. We reached out to Diana Reed & Associates. I spoke with the gentleman that was answering phones. He was very unprofessional and had a very bad attitude, to the point of being rude. He did take our information for someone to call us back. That was on July 23, 2024. It is September 6th and we have never heard from anyone.
I have had my taxes prepared by Lori Althoff of Diana M. Reed & Associates, PC, for about 20 years. All of the staff are professional and responsive. Lori is always available anytime of the year to answer questions and has provided valuable guidance to me over these 20 years. I totally trust her judgement and professional expertise. Even though I have left the Harrisburg area, I still plan to continue to have my taxes prepared by this firm.
Best tax professionals I've ever worked with. Highly recommend to anyone. Thanks Lori!
Diana M Reed & Associates PC have helped me with my Taxes for 10 years First Howie and when he retired Jolene. They both always answer all my questions with all the detail I need and have given me very good advice. They do an amazing job and their service extremely professional! I recommended them to two friends, and they are very happy with their services too. They just made our life much easier. I appreciate their dedication & personal attention.
I have been a return customer for Six or Seven years now. Every year my taxes have been prepared immediately after submitting my documents. Very thorough and professional! I have recommended Diana M. Reed to numerous friends and coworkers.
As an American living abroad taxes are extraordinarily more complicated. Diana and Jolene have done a superb job in leading us through all the mine fields. They are knowledgeable, professional, helpful and friendly. Could not recommend them more.
Excellent!!! Very thorough and quick to help!!! For the others that are complaining about cost, you get what you pay for. Wake up, because EVERYTHING costs money. They are professionals and need to charge for their time and knowledge!!! And for this, I'm willing to pay whatever it takes to continue for the great service and knowledgeable information and advice!!!
I've gone here for two years. I've had Lori Althoff both times. She's the third accountant I've used in the past 20 years. She is undeniably my favorite. She's a real human being, super smart, and always makes me feel like she remembers us and we are important. She has done right by me each year and done a thorough job in a timely manner.
RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE. Also, my wife and I were told by our tax preparer Jolene that we could meet with her when we picked up our taxes. My wife called and asked to set up a time to meet with Jolene to go over some questions about our tax return. I was told that I would have to write down my questions and she would get back to me when she had time. I was told she was too busy to meet with us. Really poor customer service. We will not be going back.
Hershey Employee Very Dissatisfied - I am unhappy with DRA because they significantly raised their fees and then were very rude and displayed lack of transparency when I asked why. Many fees increased by over 15%. Also I invest in Real Estate and they incorrectly capitalized my expenses over a 27.5 year depreciation when they could have been expenses in the same year. I needed to get that fixed with a more savvy accountant. That could have cost me thousands of dollars in taxes in 2017. Unprofessional about
This place was a bust for a few reasons. The first is that it is really expensive. I'm all for paying of course- someone else is doing this for me after all, but the $300 or so for federal, state, and local caused a bit of sticker shock. (we have had this done for us back in Philly before and it wasn't that much) secondly, and this is a much bigger deal, is that they did not file an extension when they implied that they would. We moved soon before we went to file so one of our W2s went to our old address.
I have been a client for a few years and every single time I work with them they have always been friendly and knowledgeable. I am super satisfied with the quality of their tax services.
I?ve used them for 6yrs now and have had a great experience. I will continue to use them in the future.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
