I highly recommend Disalvo and Company. They saved me from a huge mistake another company made filling out my mother?s trust return. And they have saved me yearly on my tax returns by asking thorough questions and being updated and current.
I had a problem with my tax return and called DiSalvo & Co for advice. I spoke to two people, one of whom was Peter. He was extremely helpful and offered me advice without looking to take me on as client. I was so impressed with his honesty and sense of integrity that I?ll definitely use the firm in the future and would recommend them based on my experience.
Unqualified and always behind. The bookkeeping department has no real accounting background and are more data entry specialists. Because of this the monthly business financial reports are always late, months late, even though they bill in advance, and have gross errors! They have a consistent turn over of employees including Management. It's clear the problems are too big for just one person to mend. They focus more on constant gossip, looking up clients and old employees online to see what they're up to. A
Our company has been utilizing contracted accounting services for almost 40 years, We recently transitioned those services to DiSalvo and Company and could not be happier. They are professional, efficient, timely, and knowledgeable --- an overall great team to support our small business and personal accounting needs. Hats off!!
To us, filing our tax return is rather mindboggling. However, we have every confidence that DiSalvo and Company employees are timely, accurate, and thorough in the work they do for us. We highly recommend them!
Excellent work. Have been with DiSalvo and Company for years. Staff and Mr. Pete DiSalvo are very easy to get a hold of. Highly recommend!
After dealing with the loss of my spouse and getting behind on taxes, DiSalvo helped me with 3 years' worth of back taxes and relieved me of the great burden worrying about whether they'd be done correctly. The owner, Pete, also reached out directly to me to offer his condolences. Great local company to work with.
Excellent knowledge of tax code and the team actively plans out strategies to help you save. Don't do your own taxes, they will find deductions you didn?t even know existed. It's all they do is track every single change the IRS makes in tax law and use it to your benefit, trust me, you don't know what you don't know when it comes to doing your own taxes. Take the standard deduction and file like the computer program says to maximize your return right? Nope. I did my own taxes that way for years and almost n
It is wonderful knowing each year the one thing I don't have to worry about is filing my taxes. The staff at DiSalvo and Company are responsive and courteous and it's always a pleasure doing business with them.
We?re ver helpful and helped me out of a schedule situation.
The Disalvo Team is on the ball 120%. They answer any questions quickly and always offering sound professional advice. Highly reccomend this company.
Pete and his staff are fantastic to deal with it. They worked closely with me to develop a tax planning strategy that made sense for me and my family. Use Disalvo and Company, PA. You will not regret it.
I have known and worked with Pete for some 40 years. During that time he has done all my tax work, business returns for a half dozen businesses, retirement fund returns, in differing fields, as well as consulting on all matters of accounting and taxes. From the simplest 1040 to the most complex 1120. His staff is prompt, knowledgable and accomodating and accordingly give them my highest recommendation.
This team is awesome! They are prompt and easy to work with. They are patient with all my questions and concerns. Thank you Disalvo Team! I highly recommend you!
Great company. Been with them 15+ years, always attentive and accurate. Personal attention. No need to look anywhere else.
I been using Disalvo and his professional staff for my tax needs on personal and business, they very knowledgeable and patiently explain your issues and option, I definitely recommend Disalvo?????? V
I just visit them with my California state tax issue. It was not even a full consultation but they took time for me and they really helped me out (Kyle and the lady at front desk). Thank you all
Di Salvo and Company. Five star service, people and professionalism. Can't go wrong, any problems, someone is always available to reach.
That one star wasn't fair. This may be a fine agency. I just hate when someone says they will contact you and never does.
Great service! I appreciate all their knowledge and expertise.
competent, knowledgeable, reliable!
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
