Reached out to Mr. Kozielsk through his website. He called, I mentioned I was looking for a consultation for tax preparation. He immediately rushingly stated he is beat, tired of doing this and ready to stop, then proceeded to say maybe he could answer my question quickly. Definitely not someone I am looking to prepare taxes for me.
Don is an absolute gem who shines brightly in the dim dark world of income taxes and the IRS. He is an exceptional CPA with a heart to help his clients. I felt absolutely lost, owing back taxes, and he helped me navigate through it, answered all my questions, and did it with a kindness I have yet to find elsewhere in this industry. Thank you so much Don!
I met Don approximately 15 years ago when he was helping my mother with some financial advice and IRS report. Since that time I have used him exclusively on all my business with complete confidence. I got the attitude that his customers become family because of his desire to be complete, accurate and always available. I highly recommend him to all.
Don is the best tax CPA I have ever met. He is extremely knowledgeable and really cares about you as a client. He is a great problem solver and communicator. I have been a client of his multiple years, and he does not take you for granted after you have started using him.
If you need help with IRS/tax concerns, the very best thing you can do is call Don. Not only does he have the right skills you need to get your problems resolved -- a great listener who asks just the right questions, incredibly knowledgeable and a decisive planner and problem-solver -- he is also an incredibly nice, personable guy. Seriously -- stop procrastinating and give him a call. He will respond quickly, and you'll be well on the way to getting your problems behind you. You will be surprised at how ea
We have loved working with Don and will be doing so again and again. He has gone above and beyond in his work, especially in dealing with a lot of extra Covid related delays and helping us know what was going on all along the process. I would highly recommend him to anyone. He is the best accountant I have ever worked with.
I want to thank Donald for all his help on my tax issue. I have to say he was like the 10th CPA I spoke on the phone that took the time to help me with my tax issue. He was very transparent about my what should I do and took some of his time to explain me the steps on a detailed email. If you need a CPA, Donald is here for you. Again Donald thank you so much for all your help.
If you are reading this review, your search for a CPA is over. Seems dramatic but I can't thank Donald enough for the tax help he provided my partner and I. Not only is he smart and pragmatic as a whip but it's apparent that he genuinely enjoys helping people. You will be in excellent hands, Donald is an exceptional person.
I visited Don about a year ago for some help with a tax issue and his resolution was swift and my experience was incredibly positive. He responds quickly to your questions and is a friendly, calming presence. He is now my go to for all tax questions and assistance.
I've been meaning to write a review! Don helped me out a butt ton! Last year IRS wanted me to pay back more that 3k for my Tax in 2014! I ended up paying less than $300 back rather than 3k. Don was able to take the time to pin point the issue and resolve it for me. Apparently they needed documentation that I had paid my tuition. Which was ridiculous because how else would I have continue my classes the following semester. His response time is with 24 hours, he very good at what he does. He very helpful and
I would highly recommend Don for any IRS issue(s) you have. He is able to talk directly with the IRS & resolve simple to complicated issues faster than anybody or trying to call the IRS yourself for hours. Don is very professional, knowledgeable, straightforward & very responsive in getting it done.
Don Kozielski is a Godsend. After 2 decades - yes, 20 years - of trying to resolve my account with the IRS, including in person visits, 2 Offers in Compromise (both of which were rejected), payments and help from other accountants, he is handling this mess like the pro that he is and we are well on the way to an excellent resolution. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for everything he has done on my behalf.
Don saved me a lot of heartache and trouble with my Taxes. I spoke to many other ?Tax Professionals? and none of them were able to help, but Don was able to put it all together, help solve my tax issues quickly and aid me in acquiring money that I had no idea that I was owed. I would recommend Donald Kozielski to anyone.
Donald has represented me since 2006, and I've never met anyone besides him that just "knows what to do" when there's a problem with ones taxes. He also seems to be 2 steps ahead of me when I call, and has a way of putting you at ease when you are in panic mode. Amazing!
Don has always taken such good care of me. I cannot express how much I appreciate Don's help with my IRS issues. He has them all solved for ma and I feel great about it. Thanks Don
I had IRS issues stemming from 10 years ago and Donald Kozielski helped me by advising me on the best way to take care of my problem. He was very professional and very knowledgeable and gave me multiple options on how to take care of the matter.
There is absolutely nobody better in the game. Donald is ridiculously knowledgeable in all things tax and IRS related. Extremely nice, approachable and just an all around spectacular person. Quite simply, if you live in the a Houston area and you don?t choose him as your cpa, you are a stupid person.
Fantastic working with Don. He's helpful, extremely diligent, and responsive. He cleared up my matter with professionalism and courteousness. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend him to others.
Donald was incredibly helpful in giving me a path forward on my tax issues and even more helpful in giving me piece of mind. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who has ANY kind of tax issue!!! Thank you again!!!
Don called me back promptly and answered my tax questions over the phone. He told me what I should do and was able to sort me out without me ever having to go to his office. He didn't even charge me. Stand up guy!
The CPA services Don provides produce fantastic results! Don is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, very easy to approach for tax questions.
Don is the best! He is fast and accurate. He gives good advice and is always easy to reach. Highly recommended!!
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
