Doug and his team are great to work with! They are knowledgeable and efficient. We appreciate all they do for our business!
Doug was referred to me be a friend and so far really seems to be great. i havent done my filing yet but he has been very helpful with answering questions. Ricky does my bookkeeping and has been great so far has saved me time that i can use to focus more on the business.
I?m editing my review to be more positive because Doug reached out to me to make things right. I do appreciate this it showed his concern to make sure his clients are satisfied with his services
When you hire an accountant you want someone who is responsible, very knowledgeable, and most importantly: someone who does things on time and you don't have to manage. Elevated CPA does none of these things. I had to fire Doug after he kept filing late, and then I would get fees and penalties. He once told me that 'someone he hired stop showing up to work' and many times I'd email him to find out he was on vacation. He charged me to file 0$ quarterly return and my new accountant pointed out that he filed
Elevated CPA has been great to work with both for our personal tax needs and also for our business!
I have worked with Elevated CPA for some time now and cannot recommend them highly enough. I have worked with other similar firms in the past and felt I received pretty lackluster attention and care until I started working with Doug and Elevated CPA. They are professional, highly responsive and have saved me a ton in taxes since I started working with them. Most importantly, they are true experts in their field
Doug and his team have been a pleasure to work with. He is reliable, knowledgeable, and very responsive whenever I have any questions. Top-notch organization, could not recommend them more.
I am so thankful for the wonderful, professional service I received from Elevated CPA. Doug was kind, personable, and willing to help me with my tax situation. Everything was completed quickly and the communication was excellent. This is the only tax service I will be using from now on, and I plan to recommend them to everyone I know. I can?t speak highly enough about my experience with them.
Doug at Elevated CPA was great and I would highly recommend him. This is the first year I opted not to do my taxes myself. Between selling and buy a home, moving to a new state, and working a few new jobs, I thought doing taxes on my own would be too complicated. My wife and I turned to Doug to help us out, and he delivered. He was professional, knowledgeable, and approached things with a teaching mentality. Not only did he do our taxes well, but also explained what he was doing and why. I will definitely u
Great for personal tax filing! Doug and his team are great! We coordinated everything through email and he even offered advice for future taxes. I'm thankful. Highly recommend!
I can?t say enough great things about Tammy at Elevated CPA. Tax season is always stressful but her calm confidence and constant communication and professionalism got me through it. She made everything easy for me, and replied promptly to any questions. The cost to prepare multiple complicated returns was very reasonable. Thank you Elevated CPA!!! Highly recommended!!!
I found Doug via Dave Ramsey after my previous accountant retired. Doug was very responsive and helped me greatly in navigating my taxes. He is professional, prompt and I would definitely recommend Doug and Elevated. Thanks for the help!
Doug and the Elevated team were professional. Always responded to emails and phone calls, when I had a question. I appreciate the hard work Doug, and the rest of his team, put towards our tax needs.
Doug is a professional. He has helped me on countless occasions and has saved me more money than I?d care to mention publicly. If you need a CPA I would wholeheartedly recommend Elevated!!
I've always filed my own taxes in the past, but in recent years I've started new business ventures which meant more tax complexities. Doug and his network provided guidance as I navigate through the tax maze. Dien
Doug has been excellent. We have been his customer for years and he has always kept us compliant and our books organized. He is quick to respond and exceedingly helpful.
Doug and the Elevated CPA team keep my business up and running. They allow me to focus on my business and making the money, while removing the headache of taxes and accounting. They are pretty good at minimizing taxes too!!!
Doug charged me $400 for a $125 EIN and did nothing else. It was very hard to communicate with him and get a straight answer. He gave me a general explanation of what he could do and no contract.
Great prompt service! Doug did an outstanding job on my personal and business taxes. If you?re looking for a great CPA I highly recommend.
We reached out to Elevated as new clients needing assistance with our family?s taxes. Great communication. Quick and professional work. Thank you Doug and Cynthia!
Was great at answering my questions and helping to clean up my taxes.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
