Elevated Accounting is the best accounting firm I?ve ever worked with. De De is always friendly and happy no matter how many questions I have or even if I?ve forgotten to upload important information that she needs. Zach is always on top of things, can answer my complex questions, and is always professional. They have done such a good job on my personal taxes the last 3 years that we decided to bring the family business over to them and have them do our books, payroll, and taxes. Can?t wait to work with th
Zach and his team are top notch! They've helped me clean up two years of complicated business returns. Zach is extremely knowledgeable and up to date, especially in the realm of real estate. Dede was absolutely a pleasure to work with, and helped to teach me things in QB, so that I actually can keep up to date on bookkeeping and my business books. Definitely deserving of their 5/5 rating!!
The Elevated team has been handling our accounting and tax strategy for the past 4 years. We have several entities ranging from real estate, services, construction, and software businesses that require their own unique tax planning and strategy. The Elevated team is incredibly capable, competent, and proactive in their approach to working with us. I am incredibly grateful to have them on my team.
I have been with Zach and his firm for several years now and after 3 other CPA's I am happy and relieved to find my 'home'. All team members are on the same page and if I ask a question of the wrong person there is no break down of communication and in growing a business that is a key factor that often times gets missed. I fully trust the Elevated crew and would highly recommend them for all your CPA and Bookkeeping needs.
I met with Zach and got good advice and found him to be very honest. Highly recommend.
I was referred to Zach and Elevated Accounting by my financial advisor whose judgment I completely trust. And he was exactly correct. Zach's expertise made all the difference in handling my taxes. I'm confident Zach identified every item that could benefit me, and he put great care into ensuring everything was accurate so that I could have peace of mind. I have recommended Zach's services to others, and I will continue to do so.

Zach was super quick and helpful with getting our taxes done. We had no idea how to best do our taxes for our businesses and Zach led us through the process with ease. I?d definitely recommend him!
I filed on my own through online services for several years. I decided to go local with a highly recommended knowledgeable team, and they certainly delivered! Zach?s team is very responsive, pleasant and helpful. This was my second year filing with Elevated Accounting and I will continue to go through them from now on. Great experience!
Zach is extremely knowledgeable and professional and we have thoroughly enjoyed working with him. He has a way of explaining things in simple terms and goes above and beyond for his clients. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a CPA!
I found Zach online to resolve a 2019 tax situation which then affected 2020 taxes, the stimulus payments and dependent stimulus payments. Prior to utilizing him I was using tax software (to save money) but the tax software missed several thousand dollars I was owed, created my return filing status to be incorrect to miss most of the stimuluses. Zach found the errors and helped me call the IRS and actually get to speak to a person to rectify the situation. He was stupendous at helping resolve that issue.
I was a bit afraid of doing taxes as a 1099 independent contractor for the first time. I looked for some recommendations and Zach promptly reached out to offer his help. He has a streamlined process, is very knowledgeable and has great communication. I highly recommend his services.
Zach has been incredibly helpful, I can't recommend him enough. After stepping into a new career and purchasing a home, there were so many unknowns I had questions on. He explains things in a way that's easy to understand, and laid out options I didn't even know I had. 10/10 recommend. Thank you Zach!
Zach has been great to work with. He is very professional, knowledgable, and gets work done quickly. He is constantly keeping up with all the details that are changing in the industry. I would recommend Zach over and over again.
Zach was exactly what we were looking for! He has helped guide us through some complicated financial endeavors and is very knowledgeable about a wide variety of topics. His answers are very thorough and have given us the confidence to move forward with some important financial decisions.
5 stars all the way! Zach was courteous and concise, but helped take the time to explain things in a manner I could understand. He is super knowledgeable and knows his stuff! And Wow, he saved me big money on my taxes, even more than my prior CPA! With how much he saved me I honestly don't care how much he charges me, it's worth it.
I found Zach off of Google, and I am glad that I went with him! I was very nervous in the beginning, because this was my first time ever using a CPA, but he was very thorough in his explanations and it was very easy. Having the tax organizer really helped get everything sorted and ready. Pretty quick turn around time as well. Thank you for saving me from this big tax headache, Zach!
Glad I found Elevated Accounting. Zach was a pleasure to work with and he made sure my tax deadlines were met. Next year will be a breeze now that we have things in order. Highly recommend.
We love working with Zach and Cate at Elevated. They always knock it out of the park with their knowledge, service, and attention to detail. We had some uniquely messy books and extenuating circumstances, and Cate "waved her magic bookkeeping wand" and cleaned it all up and got us what we needed. Whether it's for personal or business use, Elevated Tax & Accounting will get it done for you.
Zach is a true professional. He knows his business and how to best direct clients. His work product is accurate and correct. I would recommend him 10 times over.
We worked with Zach for the first time this year and it was a great choice. He was very responsive, answered all of our questions, and made the whole process very streamlined.

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
