The actual preparation and filing of taxes is great. I usually go to multiple accountants due to the interpretative nature of tax law. Gintz always works with me and I end up with the best economic outcome with my taxes using them. Scheduling, however, is a pain. Sometimes they confirm your appt sometimes they don?t. Their assistant was out of town, so I had called the business 4 times and sent 3 texts and emails that weren?t responded to when I needed a reminder of our meeting time. Always just make sure y
I used Tina at Gintz accounting to help me with book keeping. I was excited to begin the process and explained the level of help I needed and expected. She happily took on my business and at first things seemed to be moving along fine. After some time, my multiple emails and calls were not responded to. I was left having to do massive clean up with the DOR. I hired them to do a job and the ball was dropped. When I asked for help I was left stranded. I highly recommend against using this firm.
I really wanted Gintz to work due to the good reviews. I used them for 2 years. They are extremely impersonal. It felt like a mill and they fail to respond to questions in a timely matter if at all. The last straw was when I tried to find out some information from Tina and she would only respond through a snarky receptionists who dished out wrong tax advise in a very rude way. As a former business owner for 30 years, I was appalled by the lack of professionalism. Find an accountant that cares. Gintz doesn'
Always very friendly. Always efficient. Have worked with them for years.
Whether your tax needs are complex or simple you are guaranteed to have them in the best hands possible when you come to Gintz. I met with Jerry today, and the level of realism, understanding, and client support that he brings to his business relationships is unmatched. I have been going through many tax, legal, and financial advisory programs as of the last 6 months and have gained a decent amount of knowledge, but taking just an hour with Jerry has solidified all of that information better than 3 months o
There is no doubt in my mind that Jerry, along with the whole staff at Gintz Accounting & Tax deserves 5 out of 5 stars. Jerry is not going to get money out of you just because, instead he is honest with you. He is a great advisor that allows you to have open dialogue and solutions, which makes me feel very comfortable to go to him for any questions. I recommend.
I moved to the area in 2015, and was looking for a tax pro to handle my stuff Which is a little more than the average return. I picked Gintz Accounting. Im still with them in 2021. Absolutely great, professional, but most of all competent service. Do yourself a favor And go there if you are looking for a serious tax pro. Oh yes, one more thing The prices they charge are very reasonable and money well spent. Chuck D

My first meeting with Jerry a few days ago. I'm needing to make some changes and have been meeting with several different accountants, Jerry was professional, knowledgeable, very informative and easy to talk to. I feel comfortable that he can not only meet my small business, but also me personal tax needs, Definitely switching! Thank you Jerry!
We have been clients for many, many years. The entire office is friendly and very professional. They have been over and above a 5 star rating for us. At 9 pm on the phone trying to file a form that is Greek to me, with a happy voice and professionalism! That?s service more than appreciated!
Gintz Accounting has been preparing our tax return for 15+ years. They are knowledgeable, accurate and friendly. Excellent service!
Gintz has been my accountant for years. Always appreciate the help and quick response. Recommend highly.
Always has my best interest at heart! Works late to make accommodations when needed. I have used their firm for over 15 years. I would never think of using anyone else and is always fair with fees.
Very happy with my two visits here (this year and last). Pleasant atmosphere and employees. Know that they book out pretty far in advance so you want to schedule accordingly and keep that in mind.
Gintz accounting is the best. True customer service!
Went in and was told that everyone was busy with a clinet. I left a message for an associate to call me because i had questions about accounting and business consulting. I was waiting for two days for a call back but nobody got back to me.
Jerry and Tina are great! Very helpful and knowledgeable and friendly too! I have recommended many people here, and will continue to bring my business and personal taxes here
Wonderful. It's nice being able to trust the team taking care of your money. Any questions are always explained in a way that my wife and I can understand.
The best. Been going to Jerry longer than I can remember and now my kids have their taxes done by the firm.

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
