Customer Reviews

I have been doing my family taxes forever, but when I purchased a rental house in 2017, I decided to have someone with experience to help me with the 1st year and then I would just go back to doing it via one of the top two tax software. 8 years later and I?m still with GoGreenTax! Baruch is amazing. He will take time to talk with you about taxes as well as other personal items. I have never felt rushed. Baruch takes his time to go over everything and adjust on the fly during our sessions when I accidental

I have worked with GoGreen for years now, and I highly recommend them. My S-Corp has a number of sensitive needs, and Baruch and their team handle my requests promptly and efficiently. They are not only fun to work with but also top-notch at what they do. The services they provide are excellent, and I have always been impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. I can confidently say that GoGreen has consistently met and exceeded my expectations.

Baruch is worth his weight in gold ... OK, maybe not in gold, but perhaps in $100 bills. Ten minutes into our first meeting, he spotted $2,000 in deductions that our last tax accountant had missed. We amended our past year?s return and got a refund several times larger than the fee we paid Baruch. Since then, he has advised us on an LLC that my daughter set up and on an inherited IRA. I was drawn to Baruch not only by good reviews for Go Green Tax, but also by good reviews for Baruch when he was with a prev

Baruch saved us close to $60,000 over the last few years. This is not a typo. He also went out of his way to help us do this by helping us fight for incorrect federal taxation, we would have never managed without him. In 2020, he still came through but was honest that they were swamped and running behind ( I get it, 2020 was insane). Baruch is incredibly intelligent, resilient, quick to learn and I see last year as strengthening the company going forward which he iterates. I appreciate Baruch's honesty, in

Really disappointed. I originally spoke with someone in the office and they were to get back to me . Long story short after 6 weeks I called and they curtly said not taking any new clients....really you could not call back to let a potential client know the score..... Actually Baruch, no one ever offered or mentioned we should fill out something on the website...so yes I am disappointed and no I would not think we are a good fit since your office person lacks informing people when they call. I tried several

Years ago I met with Baruch Valenzuela the first time to file my taxes as an individual. He was kind, he was efficient, and for the first time ever I left the normally grueling process of filing my taxes with a smile. He asked all the right questions, and had answers to all mine. As years have gone by and my family has grown, we continue to see Baruch once a year as our tax guy. His service goes far beyond that once a year visit. He is always available to hop on a call with questions/concerns throughout th

If you're looking for a knowledgeable, capable, and compassionate tax accountant for your start-up or small business, look no further than Go Green Tax. Baruch and the rest of the team were such a pleasure to work with. They did a fabulous job with handling a whole host of services for my S-Corp business and personal account -- including bookkeeping with Quickbooks, payroll for my employees, tax preparation, and tax filings. Not only was it an enjoyable experience interacting with Baruch and the team (my

Go Green Tax has been great to work with the last several months. They helped me file for an extension, figure out how to get the information I needed since it was a bit of a special case, and filed my returns on time. So grateful to Baruch and Tierney for their help.

I just can't say enough positive things about the team at Go Green Tax. Karen, our bookkeeper, is amazing! She is efficient, friendly, experienced, and great at problem-solving. Baruch is fantastic at handling our taxes. I've recommended. Go Green Tax to all my business associates. I literally wouldn't go anywhere else for my business needs.

I had a great experience with Go Green. I initially brough my taxes to another company who instead of getting my taxes done filed an extention. After I brought my taxes to Baruch, it was smooth sailing. There were no issues, my taxes were filed on the set date, Baruch was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. And the company contributes money to good causes. I was very glad I found them. Would recommend without hesitation.

Baruch is the best! We?ve been working with him and his team for 3+ years now and have been treated wonderfully. Our industry can be hard to navigate but they have answered every question and helped us tremendously over the years. 10/10 would recommend.

I used Baruch last year to do my taxes and he was great! Very personable and totally on it with current tax laws. This year we were given to Clifton, which was fine, but he wasn't totally together, but he's new to PDX and the firm, so we gave him a pass. Then March rolled around, the pandemic hit and I can't get anyone at GGT to reply to me. I was told my taxes were prepared and that Baruch just needed to sign off and they'd be in touch in a week or so, and that was early April....it's almost June and I hav

Baruch is awesome! Genuinely listens and cares about your situation, works diligently to get you all the refunds you are qualified for. Not only that, but they go above and beyond and let you know where your refund is and if there are any potential delays. I cannot recommend Go Green enough!

Baruch Valenzuela is a true customer service professional. I have been to his offices 3 times over the years and have always had excellent service and very thoughtful responses to my complex inquiries. I would take a moment to say 'Thanks!' because the work he did for me helped resolve some issues I was having with my company in another state. Highest rating possible!

THIRD year in a row and many to come. Baruch is thorough, attentive to detail and fun to work with. Solid client here!

Baruch and his team have been my go-to tax people for 6 years, and I am delighted with their skills and service. I recommend them highly.

Baruch has been helping me with my taxes since I moved to the US. He's been a fantastic resource and friend. I've referred several people to him and they have all had the same experience.

Baruch is fantastic. He knows exactly what he's doing, he's quick, professional, and gets the job done. His rates are extremely reasonable. Definitely recommend him to file your taxes with!

Karen is a scam artist! She hikes up your income to 3X the normal income. Then, she will need more money from you to ?investigate? so she can get our income lower? Baruch will pass you off to the condescending bookkeeper (Karen) who is illegitimate as they come. If you want to throw away your hard earn money and waste your time go here!!!

I spent several hours of my time confirming something that I already knew, because an accountant I never hired filed paperwork with an incorrect business classification. Communication is also not great. They say they will get back to you, but really you need to call several times to get back in touch with them.

Taxes are one of those things that you want to bring to someone that is cool calm and confident and they can get you through them and on with your life. Go Green does this to the T. I work with them on business and personal and rest easy knowing they have me taken care of.

Baruch and his team are very knowledgeable and helpful! I had a consultation earlier this week and am excited to have Go Green Tax complete our personal and business taxes.

Exceptional customer service, highly professional, demonstrated his expertise by quickly and accurately assessing my complex situation then gave me great advice about how to optimize my tax position for both personal and business needs. Highly recommend.

I am not the easiest person to do taxes for mostly because I am "Number Impaired" These guys are knowledgable, patient and really good at helping one understand what's what. They have integrity and are all around kick ass people. THANK YOU !!!!!

I can recommend Baruch and Go Green Tax because he gives the personalized service to his clients.

This is the worst company I have EVER delt with for tax purposes, I have called and called and called and no calls back. I have got threw ONE time and they could not even help me with some simple information from a previous employer.

convenient and fast service. All of the forms are online. The people there are very responsive on emails.

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
