If you are looking to maximize your tax refund and filing experience, this is the ideal place! I reached out relatively late in Q1 to have my taxes completed. While there wasn?t immediate availability, Martin Haley personally contacted me later that same day and graciously took on both my personal and business tax needs. I am incredibly grateful for his professionalism and approachable, collaborative nature. After five years of searching for a reliable CPA, I am thrilled to have finally found one. Thank you
I used Duke & Boone prior to their acquisition for my personal taxes & otherwise. Our former accountant was goos, but retired. Similar to other reviewers here: has been slow, requires multiple follow-ups, appear disorganized, had to re-provide documents that had already been dropped off before the acquisition. After an extensive process, get our estimate back & will now have to get it redone by someone with better understanding of balancing people with w2 personal + business finances and maximizing deduc
I was certain to miss my tax deadline, but Leslie Gammon went above and beyond to help me get my payment in on time. I highly recommend HB Morgan !
I have been using Hekmat?s firm for over 12 years with a multitude of businesses and, often, somewhat complicated business and entity structures. He has always had the knowledge to answer questions related to all our business endeavors and has gone above and beyond in researching some complex issues for us over the years to give us the most up-to-date and beneficial advice. Most importantly, Hekmat and his team are trustworthy and we have never had a doubt that he was looking after OUR best interests every
I have been dealing with this firm for about four years now to file my taxes. This year, I emailed the CPA who used to file my taxes. But Leslie Gammon, the office manager, did not respond promptly to my request and did not guide me to another CPA to do the work. I had to send several emails to get feedback. Finally, I sent an email telling her that I was disappointed with the way she handled my request. Then she sent me an email blaming me for that. This is not the way that she should deal with customers!
Olivia at HB Morgan has been amazing to work with. She is extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer our most complex tax questions. I know that when we file our taxes through HB Morgan we are getting the most accurate return as possible.
I started working with HB Morgan about 3 years ago, after my original accountant suffered health issue. With Maggie and Olivia?s help we were able to correct all the issues and get everything back to on-track. I particularly appreciate so much Maggie?s understanding and here willingness to help. Thank you Maggie and HB Morgan team for all your support.
Negative 30 PLUS stars!!!! Do yourself a favor and RUNNN!! WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever had that forced me to file a complaint with the CPA board! Not only is the secretary/office assistant in the Wendell location UNNECESSARILY AND DISGUSTINGLY RUDE, but not just ONE, but TWO licensed CPA?s (one being the OWNER of this firm) somehow reviewed and MISSED filing TWO of my 1099?s that they had in hand from 2021 which has resulted in me owing the IRS OVER $13,000 (found out in 2023) when I was told that I was p
If you care about your personal or business financials DO NOT HIRE! HB Morgan consistently made us feel like everything was okay for our business financials and was very communicative at first?until we started receiving letters from federal AND state agencies about late/missing payments, including the IRS about unpaid taxes (a service we paid $1400 a month for!). SUDDENLY the firm became overwhelmed with other clients to the point that our bookkeeper (Ashley) wouldn?t answer our calls or emails for days at
Jeremy Kryn at HB Morgan is a great CPA. He is the most professional and responsive accountant that we have had the pleasure of working with. He prepares our personal and business taxes and is always prompt and professional. I highly recommend Jeremy Kryn.
I?ve been a client for a number of years and I have nothing bad to say about this firm. From the office manager, Leslie Gammon to my accountant, Edgar Ramirez to my CPA, Alan King, it's a great team and well worth the time to take your business to HB Morgan. They get the job done!
I have international assets complicating my tax return. I worked with Jeremy Kryn to review my tax return to ensure correctness. Jeremy was very knowledgeable and flexible to work with. He was well able to guide me through some complex international questions to make me feel confident about my tax reporting
I have been using the accounting firm of Hekmat Barahmeh CPA for nearly a decade now. I have lived in Raleigh NC for nearly 20 years, have over a dozen different businesses, employ over 200 people and own a sizable amount of real estate. Because of this, I have a multitude of constant and specific accounting needs. Hekmat and those at his firm (especially Jeremy Kryn CPA) have been amazing through the years and handle all of my companies taxes including (state and county sales and use, county food and bever
I have been using Hekmat for my personal and business taxes for over 10 years now. He is an expert in business taxes and explains things where they are easy to understand. I strongly recommend his services for business or personal taxes and bookkeeping.
I just started with these guys, but so far so good. They seem to be on the ball. I dropped in their office today and learned a lot. I met the Owner Hekmat and I've been corresponding with Jeremy and Yousef. Great guys. Respond fast. Offer advice and it's obvious they know what they're doing and want to help. Top Notch professionals and equipped to handle business. I'm pumped to have them on the team!
Almost impossible to get my accountant on the phone. I will call for hours while they are listed as open and get no answer, no call back, nothing. I've been with this company for over 8 years unfortunately it looks like its time to go....just horrible communication. Zero customer service. Renee is fantastic, other than that 2 thumbs down.
We don't always take the time to give praises to those who go above and beyond in providing great service. My CPA, Jeremy Kryn from the Hekmat M. Barahmeh, C.P.A. firm worked literally night and day to help me and my wife with both our business and personal taxes. Thank you so much Jeremy and thank you to the good folks at Hekmat M. Barahmeh, C.P.A. firm!
Hekmat was friendly, knowledgeable and prompt! Hekmat really cares and goes out of his way to help small businesses. As a small farm, Hekmat has gone out of his way to ensure we get every possible benefit for our taxes.
I love this place. I've been coming here for years now. I've been to other places, no names I will mention, but the service I receive with Hekmat is superior to others. He is thorough, quick, and offers good advice. That's why my two young adult kids go to Hekmat Barahmeh for tax services too. Thank you, Hekmat.
I work as an expat in the Mideast and with the help and patience of Jeremy Kryn I was able to take care of my taxes in a timely manner completely over the internet. They are highly recommended and I?ll use them again next tax season.
Was able to answer all of our questions! True Experts. Twice year using them now with no problems. Good experience. Smoothest process ever for taxes.
Hekmat did a great job helping me and my business sort out our taxes. Will use again!
Absolutely Great Service! He got me a 18% Tax Rate. Highly Recommended.
He knows his stuff, very professional and very helpful.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
