Hori CPA has been doing my books for about a year now I?ve gone through three different accountants and I really liked how thorough he was on questions of things to know where to place them in my books and also for my accounting.
Lance has always been very professional with our experiences, he's always on time and you worked hard to get the job done right. Me and my dad's been going through Lance for 10 years and he has always done right by us, he's the only person I trust to go through a certain financial and tax needs and he is always come through for us. Highly recommended, great customer service, friendly and welcoming environment.
Lance came well recommended from a few individuals that I highly trust. He took over my business and personal taxes last year and has done a fantastic job. He is very responsive and accessible when I need him. He is straighforward and to the point. His cost is fair and reasonable. He knows the rules and works hard to help you save on taxes. And most importantly he is honest and ethical.
Hori CPA is Phenomenal! Lance is very knowledgeable and explains situations in a way that is easy to understand. He has a high level of attention to detail and it shows in his work. My Taxes have never been easier! I would strongly recommend him if you are looking for a professional, attentive, customer friendly CPA.
Lance has been amazing to work with as we grow a couple different businesses. His advice and diligence has kept us out of any issues with the IRS and I regularly refer him to my clients who need top notch accounting services.
Lance is extremely knowledgable when it comes to taxes. He is invested in getting the best possible outcomes for his clients. His attention to detail is second to none, which is exactly what you want in a CPA! I recommend Lance for both your business and personal tax needs.
Over priced and an overall terrible experience. We paid him more for just our business taxes than we paid last year for business and two individuals. In the very first meeting Lance was insulting our business and disrespectful to my business partner. He was hard to get a hold of, slow to respond and didn't seem to listen and when we'd bring it up again he'd say we never told him and then he'd own up to never doing what we asked after we'd reference emails in regard to what we were speaking about. It was lik
Lance has been doing our taxes for several years now. He is knowledgable, reliable, concise, honest, and trustworthy. I highly recommend him if you are looking for someone to help you prepare your taxes.
Lance and his team are absolutely amazing! They handle all my business book keeping, taxes, and personal taxes! He?s also provided strategies and advice that has been critical in my business growth! Thank you Lance!
I like that he is fast and easy to work with. He knows what he is doing and he is reasonably priced!!! I think that is all pluses. He has done my taxes for two years. I will continue to use him. I would recommend him. And I already have. Sadly he has changed his prices and I can no longer afford him! I had to learn to do them myself! It was pretty easy! Just do your own taxes!
If you are concerned about your taxes, you don't need to be. Lance has the experience and knowledge to prepare them completely and correct. He has years of experience working with a CPA firm and has done many different type of returns. Give Lance a call, you will be glad you did.
Lance helped me out with my taxes last year and I am happy with the services he provided. He educated me with solutions that other CPA's have not addressed in the past. He does a great job. Thanks Lance
Lance did my international taxes as well as set up my LLC. He is responsive, helpful, organized, and clearly explains the process. I highly recommend him.
Lance is a Superstar when it comes to book keeping and taxes. He knows his stuff. I think you could ask him any question and he would know the answer of the top of his head. Accounting is his game and Lance Hori is his name. Thanks Lance for all your help.
Hori CPA is fantastic! Lance is knowledge and has helped us so much we would be lost without him! Highly recommend Hori CPA for personal tax and business tax needs!
Lance is the best! Always responsive, helpful and thorough. We use him for our business and personal taxes. Highly recommended!
I want to tell you about my experience with lance. He is a very knowledgeable and thorough cpa. I was impressed with his ability to awsner my questions fully and not sugar coat it. In a strugglig world we need truth and direction. Lance embodies both. Anyone looking for a knowledgeable, thorough, honest, direct, cpa give lance a try. I did and im very happy
Lance is very knowledgeable and professional. If you have business or personal tax preparation needs, he's your guy.
He did see me quickly during tax season, however he charged me $250 for the same return as turbo tax. Then he set up an installment agreement to pay for the taxes I owed which has another $250 fee from the federal government that I didn?t know about. This could have been avoided by setting up a direct deposit online. Not helpful in my opinion
First appointment. Sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes listening to him help another client during my scheduled time. No one in the office wears masks. You never get a second chance to make a first impression.
Been using Lance for a couple years now and have been very pleased with his professionalism and experience. I would recommend him to others.
I recently became a client of Hori CPA and I have been impressed. Their professionalism and effectiveness are first class. They have gone the extra mile for me. I would recommend their services to anyone.

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
