Humboldt Bay Social Club

My plans fell through for my fifty birthday. So I decided to do something local. I am so glad I did. This place is very special. Tucked in next to the ocean and Oyster beach. Just a short hike to the ocean from your room. All the rooms come with a soaking tub. Each room comes with everything you to unplug, unwind, and relax. They offer massages and a cedar sauna. I highly recommend doing both. So many cute little nooks with fire pits or gas fire places to get cozy around. It's kid friendly and dog friendly

Rooms are somewhat primitive, but nice. Well stocked with snacks and a great beach cart with chairs, a cooler, blanket and bucket for collecting whatever. The social club has fantastic grill kits of burgers, dogs, or oysters. Staff was welcoming and made the visit great. A fantastic get away!

Recently had a fantastic stay at Humboldt Bay Social Club. Their set up is so cozy and homey and still amazing design quality. BEST GF/DF tuna melt I have ever had. The new sauna is HOT and euphoric. Also got a in room massage and that really set the town for the day! Comfy beds, killer amenities, fun staff, and fresh sea air.

I came up for a couple of days to just unwind at the beach. I called in advance to consult about which room would be best to accommodate me and my small dog and was given a great recommendation and a quick booking process over the phone. The room was great and the service was even better. Solveig was a warm host with expert local knowledge, a no-fuss demeanor, and a great conversationalist and bartender. I LOVED my stay here. The rooms are so well thought-out and beautiful. The snacks and drinks for sale in the rooms were reasonably priced and well chosen options. The location is on the beach but private and still near Eureka Downtown AND Arcata downtown. The staff in the bar are friendly and there is a cute space with a gift shop full of locally made gems. I'll definitely be back!

Was there today 3/1/25 for a Baby Shower, had 4 drinks in the bar and was charged $14 per drink, rufricken kidding me! Not even Waikiki, Hawaii charges that kind of prices, and the view does not even compare ??

DONT STAY HERE! I wish I would have read more reviews, especially the ones on trip advisor. I booked a room here during the holidays, unfortunately I had to cancel. But that's when I found out this place is more like an Airbnb set up, no receptionist, just a lock box. We held our wedding ceremony at Oyster Beach and the reception at the Hangar at the Humboldt Bay Social Club and everything was delightful. I'm appalled that the owner would blatantly lie in their response to this review. I challenge the owner to produce evidence that a discount was provided. I have receipts showing otherwise. To call this place a hotel is a long stretch. The photos look amazing but it's completely a very isolated and run down motel in the middle of an airstrip attached to a dive bar. You drive through logging factories to get there. No beach in sight. We were a bit confused as the listing told of beachy rustic and cute accomodations. I didn't stay here. I was here to hang with friends and drink and eat. It's a good place for that. At first when I pulled up I thought this was where horror movies take place, but once you walk around to the main entrance it warms up. We got a grill kit which was basic. Seemed like Costco frozen patties and other store bought ingredients, but it's really the atmosphere you go for. I had a blast.

I had a kickback at the Social Club. There is an indoor bar, outside grilling. Purchase salmon, shrimp, hamburgers, hotdogs, oysters, charcoal, lighters from the bar to grill outside. Hawaiian Food truck had been on location. You can bring your dog and children. There is space to rent for private parties. It's an over all good time for friends and family. Just a fun place to go and relax , inside or out. Great venue for any occasion.

A unique and sensational place. Almost effortlessly cool and chic, without being in any way ostentatious. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, decent food and great beers. A unique weekend atmosphere with young and old mixing, barbecuing, dancing and just having a brilliant time. If you stay make sure to go across the road to Oyster Beach and use the bath house. Never stayed anywhere like this before and can't wait to return.

Stayed at the Humboldt bay club and I absolutely love it. The host Niki was awesome, great laid back location. I will definitely be going back in the future. Love HUMBOLDT COUNTY absolutely awesome vacation.

Overall the facilities are ok. The outside bathing tubs are a nice gimmick. The experience with the customer service and communication was really bad. Not responding to messages. Would not recommend as there is no help if urgent matters occur.

A wonderful place. Quiet and filled with that marvelous blend of luxury and character, this felt like a place we could stay in for a long time. One night is clearly not enough. I had an amazing time here. I went up with my friend and her four kids for a little vacation and hiking around Humboldt. The beds were very comfortable and the cabin was very well stocked, enough towels for everyone and even some local goods and teas to go along with everything in the kitchen. Love this place. Friendly staff and very accommodating for large groups or parties. Lots of room outside for games or barbecues. Hosted a catered event here for about 60 folks; event went off without a hitch, bartender kept up with a ton of thirsty people and the hangar was simply an awesome place to shelter the food and small groups for conversation. Fire pits were outstanding for when the sun went down (wood graciously provided). Absolutely will have another event here in the future.

I was catfished by the Humboldt Bay Social Club. The marketing on this place is excellent but there is a fine line between good marketing and being misleading. The staff was amazing. There was a woman and she was bartending there for our wedding, and the morning after she was working, her name was Deja, and she was so helpful, and friendly and personable. A one of a kind experience on the edge of America! This is a wonderful place for casual gatherings, but with a little bit of rustic style thrown on top. The selection of local imbibition will delight and impress both the casual and refined drinker.

A great place for parties. A great place to bring the kids. If you do bring scooters and bikes. You can enjoy a cocktail while your kids ride around. They have cabins for rent that are in the forest. They are rustic but nice. The place is pet friendly. We brought our two large dogs. There is a pet cleaning charge but its reasonable.

Great place to stay with our 40lb doggo. Loved the atmosphere and community feel. Our room was perfect for us - nice and comfortable but also well equipped to come in from the beach without making a mess. Lots of nice touches too (local snacks, coffee, etc)

Awesome boutique hotel and bar located on the beautiful peninsula. Family friendly and dog friendly, classy and hip, yet laid back. You'll find many locally made products throughout their menus. Love all the locally made spirits, wines, ciders and beer. An incredible community gem.

The social club is a fantastic place to hold events of any kind! We had our wedding in the main hangar. It was absolutely perfect. We were able to have all of our family and bridal party stay in the rentals around the property. This made things so convenient and fun.

I love the public spaces (the mini trailer with the top cut off is the best) especially the hangar. I've DJ'd there several times - it's a great venue space!!! The food at The Jetty is delicious!!

I can't say enough great things about this place. The location was so cool, the rooms were so so nice, the bed was soooooo comfortable. The ONLY thing that was off, was it appears they're in the process of painting, so the outside was a bit run down, but the inside was beautiful.

Beer and view were great, but the tater tots are... Pretty underwhelming. $15 for tots? I expect to be able to share it. This was like twenty tots with a squirt of toppings. Way overpriced and disappointing. Not sure we'll be back for that

I felt right at home at this casual spot. They had a wide open layout, vintage furniture, and a friendly bartender. What I loved most was the cleanliness and suuuuuper family friendliness. I used to love the customer service from this place. I came back and the employee were rude. I wasn't aware there is no outside food allowed, and the hostess took the food out of the place. That was very disrespectful, the food option is very limited and then yet people from the next pit were grilling burgers and hot dogs. Why is it that people can bring burgers and hot dogs but no pizza?

We went here for drinks after a small wedding. The service was very good. Mellow vibes. Allowed outside food. Indoor and outdoor drinking space and some cute fires and music area.

Used to love this place. Held my wedding reception here and it was almost perfect. Everything that went wrong was just details dropped by the staff. Months of no returned calls. No returned emails. And not being ready on time. Also VERY rude staff. It was sad to have had such a bad experience here when we've only had good memories otherwise. Awesome little hidden gem. Daughter held her wedding there. They used two of the cottages, and my husband catered the affair using the kitchen in the small cabin attached to the funky wine barrel bath house! Beautiful, full of trees like eucalyptus, easy to find... But, it didn't come up on a local search! My daughter tried San Francisco after trying to find a local spot, and this popped up, right in her back yard! Tricky. Lol. Highly recommend the place.

We went to a retirement party there. It was cute... Food bar, fireplace and patio tables .... Large building ... Could accommodate quite a large party.... Has a nice attached parking lot .... There was a fire pit outside with lots of places to sit.

Lovely place to come and relax in style. Great cocktails, beer, and wine. Youre allowed to bring food in as well, so it makes picnic style parties all the better. My favorite part is their Thursday $1 grilled oysters.

While it's out in the middle of nowhere, it is beautiful and the drinks are delicious. I had a lavender rye lemonade, which is not on the menu but is something I will enjoy again. My only complaint was that I would like it if there was food there that they made for you - they're food is the type that you make yourself. I understand that they don't have anywhere to make food for customers, though, as part of the Bay Club is rented out as an airbnb. But I will definitely come here again.

A unique gathering place especially for family gatherings. Like a public park with benches, tables and chairs in various places both indoors and outside. No alcohol is allowed to be brought in but there's a bar on site where you can purchase alcohol if you want and a little restaurant where food is available. We had a great time there with family and friends.

Was really looking forward to staying here and it did not disappoint. The room was wonderful, two free drinks at the bar, great outdoor patio, great food. And to top it all off, outdoor tubs and free coffee in the morning. Already can't wait until I can get back again.

Food was pricey but ok....disappointed that the menu didn't show everything that would be on it. Altogether for 2 sandwiches, an ipa, and a small glass of hard cider was $41. We played cornhole which was cool to offer but one of the bags was falling apart. I think I just had higher expectations. Therefore the 2 stars

A VERY cool place to relax and let your stress melt away. There are many options for lodging in Humboldt but this one tops them all. Tons of space, privacy and quiet. The decor is top notch and sturdy. Absolutely perfect.

One of Humboldt counties best kept secrets! What is not to love? What a unique gem of a place. We first came for the buck a shuck Thursday, we will keep coming back anytime we can. You can buy the sack full of oysters other days and do it yourself. Even if you just want to have beer and sit by a fire, this is the place. Just amazingly tranquil and fun outdoor setting. Kids on bikes riding in a very large no car area, fires at dusk, grills to use, tipis and tents for kids to play in and really great grilled oysters. A boutique hotel retreat for visitors, a fun family friendly hang out for locals.

This place is so accommodating to people of all ages and their dogs. Friendly staff and great food and drinks make this place Humboldt's best gathering spot. They provide the space free of charge so remember to purchase your food and drinks and tip well to keep this place going.

We love this place for the atmosphere. Our friends stayed in one of their room rentals and it was adorable! We plan to do a staycation there just to get a peak at more of their cute rooms.

Don't judge it from the outside. It looks like a dilapidated building sitting on an abandoned landing strip. We went to the lobby bar for oysters but unfortunately they were sold out that Monday at 5pm. We may try it again next time we are in the area but will definitely call first to make sure they have oysters in stock.

Eclectic mix of location, decor, atmosphere, activities, food, drink, accommodation. It's a friendly place to stop and rest a spell. It's a gem of a hangout for groups. The type of oasis one may encounter in Samoa. Beach access, and Drag Racing adjacent. Pilots might find the airstrip of interest. Cozy getaway on the fringes of a foggy historic, beach area.

Pretty cool place to have a bite and a drink but way too many kids running amok. It almost felt like Chuck E Cheez. Edit: It's really not the establishments responsibility to wrangle children. Parents need to realize that unless it's a playground, it's not a playground.

This place is great. Although it's a little out of the way, it's worth the trip. The beer selection is descent. A great place to hang out when the weather is nice out. They provide firewood for outside lounging.

The venue is adorable and clean. There are many activities that can be held here. There is a place to play horseshoe, a bonfire, and the view is really pretty.

All good BUT some lunatic persisted in revving his ginned up roaring motor car engine repeatedly in the early evening shattering the peace and calm that I came her for and ruining the outdoor dining experience. Someone on the management should have a word.

The best oyster shaq in humboldt( when they have oysters...) honestly about half the time they seem to be out because everyone has already eaten them!

We really enjoyed the atmosphere, even though the cocktails are a bit limited, everything was great.
