Customer Reviews

My huband and I have been using Scott's services for the past 10 years. We trust in his professionalism and knowledge and have never been lead astray. He also gave us very useful advice about what to keep track of for the upcoming tax year, things we had never thought of until we told him about our plans in regards to a new automobile purchase and home repairs. His advice secured use thousands in deductions that we didn't know we're available to us. His office staff have always been kind and attentive. I hav

So very disappointed by the unprofessionalism and lack of care from the office of Scott Youngblood. I scheduled an appointment with him over two months ago. At the time I clearly stated that I need his expertise in filling out one form for my income tax. I also told the person I spoke with that I do my own taxes and just needed some advice on a form I've never done before. The woman told me it would be a $100.00 consultation fee to which I agreed. On January 18th, I received a call to confirm the appointmen

Mr. Youngblood provides excellent service and is thorough. As a business owner it is imperative my estate plan and business finances are buttoned up. He stepped in where another law firm dropped the ball. His rates are very reasonable considering he's an attorney & CPA.

I do not like giving bad reviews but If I could give a zero I would! I was referred by a very dear friend that highly recommended Scott?s company. Since October 2022, they have had my information. We are now June 1st 2023!!! Now 7 months later, my taxes are still not completed! I have emailed several times with no response. Upon the consultation, I explained to them it was imperative I have this done as soon as possible as these documents were needed for a court date coming up. My lawyer has reset my court

Scott and his firm are great! They are very professional and knowledgeable. They have done my personal as well as my business taxes for over 10 years. Highly recommend them for all your tax needs.

I am extremely satisfied with the folks at Scott Youngblood CPA. They take care of my business and personal taxes. They really know how to take care of you. With all the new tax laws, it can be overwhelming. They do an excellent job of explaining and presenting options that you can choose from and feel comfortable. Very knowledgeable staff and eager to help in anyway the can. I would highly recommend to anybody who needs help with their tax needs.

I have used Scott for about 10 years or so now and have had just a wonderful experience. We have referred him to numerous friends and family that all use his services now as well. He is extremely knowledgeable in personal, business owner, and farm and ranch taxes which is perfect for my taxes.

We have used Mr. Youngblood's services personally and professionally for over 8 years. Scott and his knowledgeable staff are a great find in Pearland due to the many services they offer. A real one-stop shop for small business. We highly recommend his business to family, friends and other business owners.

Update: All our tax data was later stolen. Had a positive 1st meeting, but communication with him regarding our taxes was difficult (at best). His staff would take messages and either he didn't receive them or simply didn't take time to respond. Months later, we found his computer systems had been compromized. Now, he gets so many positive reviews in one week? Interesting.

Scott and his team are professional and knowledgeable! Helping with my business and personal tax needs efficiently and at a competitive price. Thankful for his expertise and advice on all of my tax preparation and business formation needs.

Had the worse experience with him I had to find another attorney because I was not getting communication in a timely manner. When I finally did reached him it was an aggressive tone. Being yelled, cursed at and called a liar by this attorney is not best practices. Save your money and aggravation find another attorney. Kinda shady that he had to solicit clients to give him 5 star rating for damage control.

I have been using Scott for over 20 years and I wish I would?ve found him sooner his expertise and knowledge has saved me so much money and so much stress. In the last 20 years I have found that I never get stressed out when it comes time for tax season because he has always taking care of everything and taken the burden off my shoulders. Scott thank you for everything. You had my business for life

Scott has been doing my taxes for a few years now and he is excellent. Answers my questions and it never seems to be a problem with any question I ask. I highly recommend him.

Scott has been great with me , he has met all my needs the times i have reached out to him. His staff is also amazing and prompt.

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. If you want great communication forget about it. Won?t answer the phone to save his life. And if he does He wont recolect anything. He?s Disrespectful to clients as well as family members of clients. I?m not sure how this guy is in business still. If you have any ounce of a brain anybody would be better than this low life.

Firstly, he solicites 5 star reviews from his friends. But I can?t express how awful terrible horrible this firm is. So unprofessional, terrible communication. If you want business try answering your phone. But when you do answer, at least pretend to be interested in what the person speaking has to say. Do yourself a favor and chose literally any other firm to handle your money.

Scott has been doing my complicated and always needing to be extended?, but he and his patient staff, always are helpful, professional and knowledgeable. I thank them so much.

I've used Mr. Youngblood as my choice for CPA for several years and am completely satisfied with his work. He's honest and very knowledgeable with our laws. Thank you Mr. Youngblood and staff

I got my taxes done here. Everyone was extremely professional and everything was done in a very timely manner. I look forward to using them more for my other business needs.

Amazing service. Quick turnaround. Comprehensive consultation. Highly recommended for personal and buisness tax and account management. Youngblood is a REAL pro.

I paid $700 to build a LLC. They did not give me Webfile number. I used the whole afternoon to call Texas comptroller, then found they has already mailed to their address. But I called their front desk. The lady told me they never received any information.

Scott Youngblood and his staff are the best. They are very professional, knowledgeable, and truly have their clients best interest.

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
