I cannot stress enough how wonderful my experience has been with J&F Advisors. Zena has continuously gone above and beyond; helping us navigate new and convoluted tax situations with attentiveness, care, and professionalism. The J&F Advisors client portal allows for a simple and intuitive exchange of documents and communication. All around A+ experience. Wouldn't hesitate to work with them again.

I received services from J&F Advisors this year and I have never been more satisfied. The service was prompt and helpful. Robyn assisted me with all of my questions and concerns with no hesitation. The turnaround time was quick and they are so knowledgeable and professional. I will be utilizing this firm for all of my needs in the future! I wish I found them sooner!

It has taken sometime to find the words to express my gratitude for J&F Advisors, specifically, Ashley and Zena. After my business had been closed for almost a year I received a very unexpected letter from the IRS that the business was being audited. After a moment to process the shock, I immediately reached out to Ashley because I knew she?d know what to do. I was right. After connecting Ashley and Zena with my assigned agent, they took care of everything. Scheduling the audit date, gathering the necessary

I needed some assistance with a tax situation that was well beyond my skill sets and was referred by a number of individuals to reach out to J & F Advisors, PLLC. I worked with Robyn specifically and she was phenomenal! She was very knowledgeable, reassuring, and most importantly very professional. I plan to continue to seek out their services moving forward and would strongly encourage others to give them a try as well.

I was first introduced to J & F Advisors during a tax seminar for business professionals. I was impressed by their content, wealth of knowledge and delivery and knew I wanted them to help get my taxes and accounting affairs in order as my new business was starting to grow. Robyn worked with me and she was attentive, patient in answering all of my questions, accommodating, responsive and delivered what was expected and more. I'd definitely recommend J & F Advisors!

I absolutely love working with J&F Advisors. The tax process is not always easy to navigate through when it's not your expertise, but Robyn has always answered every question and is always willing to schedule a call for further clarification.I would definitely recommend them for all of your personal and business needs.

I found J&F Advisors online when I was looking for firm near me to help me with some taxes and accounting advice. I worked with Ms. Johnson and she was fantastic. She is very professional and knowledgeable. I am happy I found this firm. I will continue to use their services and I highly recommend them.

Highly recommend J&F Advisers for all of your business needs. They are professional, responsive, and aggressive. They represented me in a tax audit and my balance ended at $0! I thoroughly enjoyed working with them!

I always enjoy doing business with J & F Advisors! The owners and their staff are friendly, professional and knowledgeable with taxes and accounting. If you're an entrepreneur, household or business, I highly recommend J & F advisors for professional assistant with all your financal needs!

J & F Advisors makes the daunting task of filing taxes a breeze, especially for business owners. They are also committed to equipping you with knowledge during the entire process as well as providing resources to manage and document required information throughout the year. This level of service and commitment makes tax time less stressful and extremely manageable.

ROBYN WAS AMAZING, walked me through multiple situations with filing my taxes, setting up payroll, converting my LLC to a S-CORP and quick books. Was able remove 6k in penalties & interest from my previous tax return. Now my business finances are structured accordingly.

J & F is the preliminary example of what professionalism is in getting it done (with small businesses in my opinion.) Both partners have a unique way of conducting business which is a great balance. Follow through is 100% and most of all: the down to earth and practical approach in explaning large projects (numbers) within simplistic terms which did not make me feel overwhelmed and having a higher level of comprehension. Thank you for service.

As a small business owner, entrepreneur, I value time and money. This review is to hold accountability. I booked a 15 minute consultation, paid $45 because as I said, nothing in this world is for free. My call was poorly managed. I received no information that was helpful. There was no effort, no support. I received empty promises on information I would receive hours after the call. Two weeks later and I have yet to receive any information.

They performed the tasks requested with professionalism and their feedback was the catalyst to making our business plan competitive. We plan on using them again soon. Ashley was great!

Top-notch, thorough service and very professional! I would highly recommend this company. Thank you Ashley and Robyn!

Very professional and knowledgeable. I will continue to work with them. Thank you J and F advisors.

I loved it, very professional staff and welcoming. Definitely will be back next year.??

Great professional services a firm u can trust.

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
