They told me they would file extension for me & then stopped replying. Waste of time and you will owe more than they tell you for taxes For every year!
J&R Accounting Group helped both with my personal & business tax returns. They are focused on the client and extremely reliable. I appreciated the attention to detail and the constant communication throughout the process. I fortunate enough to find an accounting group I can trust. Looking forward to working with them in the years to come!
I just wanted to write a review for others benefit. I believe we should share our experiences, which helps one another, and of course they deserve a five start too! J&R Accounting is very professional and very thorough in detail. They found many items that I had no idea, there exist such tax laws that I can claim deductions on :-) . I realized the knowledgeable tax consultants do make a big difference. Thank you for your service and saving a lot of money for me!
J & R Accounting Group has been doing my Business Taxes and Personal Taxes for three (3) years now. They are Awesome to work with !! Very Thorough, Accurate, Knowledgeable customer focussed, and just a pleasure to work with. I definitely plan to continue to work with J & R Accounting going forward !!
I was doing my taxes on my own and was procrastinating. J&R helped me file my taxes this year very reasonable price, professional and responsive. They found some deductions I had missed in the past. Definitely will use them next year after new tax reforms to get the max benefits.
Best accounting group you will ever see! Highly recommend! Everything was done so professionally. I was explained everything I asked about in details. J & R Accounting Group is something you can trust your business and information to. From now on I will do my taxes only with them.
Had a very rough time working with this group. They quoted me a price and I paid it, only to be told at the end when filing that they would not look at and hadn't done any of my Canadian taxes or my Illinois taxes for last year - even though I had emailed them all the paperwork for those things and asked repeatedly if there was anything else they needed. I would not have paid the price I did had I known this, but it's too late now. It was also important for me to have all the taxes done in one place since
J&R team helped me with my personal taxes. Very responsive, reasonably priced and professional. Everything was done through email and phone saved me time. Will use them again.
We at Sunflower Real Estate and Educational group used J&R Accounting for monthly book keeping, quarterly and annual tax filing. Extremely professional knowledgeable very reasonable price and easy to work with. Definitely would recommend.
Very responsive, professional and knowledgeable. I am glad I found J&R accounting, true value for fees paid. I also appreciate the business consulting/advice get from them.
I want to thank the folks at J&R for their customer focused efforts. Quick turn around,, very knowledgeable and detail orriented. If you have a rental property then go with J&R!
J&R Accounting have very professional staff that were able to quickly understand my unique circumstances and offer me clear options. The professional fees are reasonable and the service is timely. Thank you!
Been asking them for an update on our taxes for the last 3 weeks. We've submitted everything a couple of months ago. They kept saying they will check and get back to us. Nothing has been done and today is tax day. How irresponsible of them
Very professional, knowledgeable and true value for the money spent. I would like to recommend J&R accounting for future customers.
The accountant we worked with was very professional, helpful, and thorough in preparing our taxes. We're very happy with the service we received.
Quite difficult to reach. Intially was quick to respond and available. Will try again and hopefully get better results as well as pick the physical copies.
Im very happy with the service it was affordable they were helpful understanding I'll definitely be returning next year
Absolute wonderful customer service, fast turnaround on tax return and the price is more than fair. ????
They make things easy for me!!! Thank U ????
Very professional knowledgeable and helpful people in field of accounting
(Translated by Google) I do not recommend this service at all!!! They constantly say "tomorrow", "we will do it", "we will check" and there is no silence. You should not expect quick answers and correct filing of taxes, later you will have consequences. What people do in 2 days, this company does in more than a month. Such terrible service has never been seen here. It is better to go around and find responsible people, rather than to knock on closed doors and waste your time and nerves. (Original) ?? ?????
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
