I don't usually leave reviews, but I wish I could leave above a 5 star rating. This was the 3rd year in a row I have gotten my taxes done by Jeff and there is not anyone else I would trust with my information. In addition to being extremely knowledgeable and helpful, he has created a very friendly and inviting atmosphere so that getting your taxes done can be a pleasurable experience. I look forward to getting my taxes done next year.
I have been going to Jeff Patterson for over 20 years. He is great. Jeff is very professional and I only trust him with my taxes. Any questions or concerns you May have , Jeff is there to help you anyway he can. I would definitely recommend his services to anyone.
Jeff has prepared my returns for the last six years. He's professional, convenient, and knowledgeable on all of the IRS regulations. He offers professional services with a personal touch, that you don't find the other larger services. He has a secure easy to use web based portal, that has all my documents for easy access and review each year.
What began as a one time thing after an overwhelming year turned into me going back every year to Jeff! Jeff has one goal and that's clearly to make sure his clients get the maximum benefit- especially when you have multiple jobs, work independently, and dont have the time. He is thorough, honest, and makes sure you know what your getting up front. Do yourself a favor and eliminate the stress and risk of over/underpaying and go to Jeff.
Jeff is great! He is reasonably priced and always gets us a great return- much better than using an online program! He knows all the ins & outs, is easy to work with and gets the job done fast. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for an industry professional who can maximize their return. This is our third year working with him and can?t imagine going anywhere else.
As a multiple business owner, my taxes get more and more complicated every year. Jeff has been preparing my taxes for nearly 20 years and has been a great help throughout. He is always there with answers to my questions and has guided me to where I am today. I couldn't say enough wonderful things about him personally or his business practices.
Jeff has been doing our family's taxes for over 20 years. He is always professional and thorough. To maintain a relationship with a business for over 20 years should tell you all you need to know about the quality of service Jeff provides. We count Jeff not only as our tax advisor; we count Jeff as our friend.
I have been going to Jeff Patterson for 20 years to get my taxes done. He is great. If there is a question that needs answered he is there for you. I have never had a problem with my taxes. I will keep going to Jeff to do my taxes.
Jeff was efficient and professional. I appreciated his up-to-date knowledge of the ever changing IRS regulations. He explained a few of them in understandable ways and what would apply to my filing. He worked with me so that I could get the highest applicable return.
Jeff has done my taxes for years and I only trust him. He is accommodating and always professional. Definitely recommend his services for anything financial.
Jeff makes taxes completely painless. He's so quick you'd think you were his only client. Even though I don't live in Pennsylvania anymore I can't imagine why I'd use anyone else.
I have been with Jeff for over 20 + years amazing service I recommend him all the time to anyone who needs a good and honest tax preparer. He IS the best.
I received my tax return 1 hour after filing. We were the 1st to file taxes in Pennsylvania! CENSUS! Jeff Patterson you Rock! Thank you for good business ????????????
If you want to get audited by the IRS use this guy. He's a one man band, no Associates, just jeff and a desk in a building shared with Lawyers that would have nothing to do with a tax return.
responds immediately to questions, saturday appointments, very reasonably priced
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
