Jack Wan CPA was highly recommended to me by a large international accounting firm who was hired by my company to handle my international tax filings. Not only did Jack respond immediately to my request for a personal tax accountant but he also provided prompt and thorough knowledge and support for both US and international taxes. Jack, with his strong communications skill, patiently walked me through both the basic and complexity of my situation. On top of this since I live overseas, Jack was great about fi
Mr. Wan did a great job with our tricky overseas taxes. He also included tax planning for the next year and helpful advice for financial planning. He was very responsive, transparent, and methodical in his dealings with us. We really appreciate finding a knowledgeable professional who also has great client interaction skills.
The worst experience I have had with an accountant. Jack Wan is arrogant, condescending, impatient, makes promises to be available then does not respond to emails or phone calls. He went on vacation before tax filing due date and said he would have to extend filing. When questioning his practices he becomes unhinged. Each of two years he has provided the return, he has to retract and resend the documents. I have a wonderful accountant now whom I trust and can depend on.
Mr. Jack Wan is a talented CPA. He has helped us streamline and simplify our business accounting processes and needs. What we really admire about Mr. Wan is that he is methodical, very analytical, and pays careful attention to the detail. We're extremely happy with the results Mr. Wan was able to produce!
I asked for Jack's professional help in reviewing the materials for a business opportunity that I was evaluating. He was very thorough and explained very clearly what type of due diligence I should do. His insight was invaluable in helping me decide on investing in the business opportunity. He is also very knowledgeable with the tax laws. I definitely would recommend him to anyone.
I use Jack for my business and personal taxes because he is the most knowledgable accountant I have ever known. There are no questions Jack couldn't answer off the top of his head. He even drew out charts and diagrams to help explain things. He is also very responsive to calls and emails. Jack will take care of all your accounting needs!
Jack Wan CPA's helped me understand my taxes better and more over gave me year round attention on my taxes. I do not know of anyone that does this for the very affordable charge Jack Wan CPA's do it. People need this and Jack Wan CPA's do a great job and would recommend them to anyone!
We utilize Jack's services for our small business and personal taxes. He takes the time to go over the numbers with you. He is very responsive and reliable. We are very pleased to be working with him and totally recommend him.
Jack is really thorough and does a great job making sure your understand what he's doing and why he's doing. Great help for our business and personal tax returns.
My husband and I will be using Jack Wan in the future. He is prompt disciplined and is a wealth in taxes and tax savings. Try him, you will be pleased.
I contacted this CPA firm and scheduled a meeting. I was highly disappointed when the date came and no one showed up to my office. I called their office and left messages and no one responded.
It's obvious that Jack has the technical skills to get the job done but it's his intangibles that make him stick out from the competition.
Mr. Wan is super hot.
Very professional accountant!
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
