We have used Jacob?s tax services for 3 years. At first we had a complicated mixture of international earnings, non reimbursed work expenses, and other minor complexities. Not anymore. His communication, timeliness, education, support and flexibility have truly been incredible. I am glad I have done taxes on my own a few times, because now I can fully appreciate the value his team has brought to our family. I truly appreciate the opportunity to benefit from his experience.
Jacob has helped me out with my taxes the last two years. He has been extremely patient and shown me exactly what he needs from me and taught me what I need to do. I will be using Jacob for my taxes for as long as he is willing to help me! The price is very fair and he is always quick to communicate with me. I have also had simple questions for him throughout the year and he's always so willing to answer them.
As first-time, small business owners, Jacob made everything so easy for us. Starting our business seemed overwhelming and scary, but after our first discussion with Jacob, we knew that our goals could really be attainable. He was able to translate things that could have been confusing, which gave us peace of mind that our business was in safe and capable hands. His timeliness, attention to detail, and professionalism is top notch! Emails are answered within a day, if not a couple hours! There is no one else
If I could give Jacob 10 stars I would. This guy definitely knows what he's doing! Excellent experience! I HIGHLY recommend anybody filing their taxes with Jacob. Very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. We used to file through turbotax. But after we saw what we would owe through Turbotax, I googled the best CPA's in Fort Worth and found Jacob. A week later he saved us about $3,600!!! Best financial decision I've made in a long time. I will definitely be filing my taxes with Jacob moving forward.
Jacob helped me getting my Non-Profit up and going. This man is a wealth of knowledge. He takes care of our book keeping and makes sure everything is done by the letter of the law. I appreciate his integrity and determination to do things right. We are beyond thankful for his skills and guidance toward our ministry and taxes. If you ever need help or advice in the tax world this man is your guy. He will do what it takes to make sure your in the know and filled correctly. I couldn't think of a better busines
Jacob is such a great asset to our business! He is very knowledgeable and timely on all emails, reports, and is always available for questions. We are very blessed to have him for he is one of the core reasons our business is a success. He is one of a kind and does his job with excellence.
My wife and I had a lot of life events affecting our taxes last year, and we decided to work with a CPA for the first time instead of using DIY software. Jacob and his team exceeded all expectations! We definitely will be returning customers. Thank you, Jacob!
Jacob is a rockstar! Being a first-time small business owner has always been a goal, but I needed someone who was stronger than I when it came to numbers and business strategy. In comes Jacob. He's made the daunting tasks seem like a piece of cake. If your company consists of 1 employee or 100, Jacob is the guy for you.
Jacob McKee is the consummate professional. He is highly competent, committed to his clients, and has passion to serve. With zero reservations, I recommend Jacob for any tax-related cases both business and personal.
Extremely helpful. We are new business owners and we really needed some hand holding with taxes and QuickBooks. Jacob took the time to dumb things down for us in the best way. I have recommended to neighbors and friends already
After a year he ghosted me. Was good at first but after a few months it took long periods of time to respond to emails, calls and voicemails. I had basic tax needs with a small business, and paid all my bills. Nothing complicated and I liked the work he did when he actually did connect but it seemed like he just wasn't interested in my business after a year or so and just stopped answering emails and calls entirely.
Jacob was very fair in pricing. He was also very timely in getting the taxes done when he said he would., He was detailed oriented and did an excellent job.
Jacob is the absolute best! He is the best at quick responses and is always so helpful! I can't imagine running a business without his help!
Thank YOU Jacob! Appreciate the help with quickbooks and taxes. You provide seamless top notch service! I just recommended you on NextDoor app as well!
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
