A heartfelt thank you and appreciation for the James Moore & Co. CPA Tax Accounting firm!!! They have greatly helped with their professional skills, and with kindness and patience, as I?ve navigated parent?s tax affairs and estate for many years. Tanner and Elysia specifically have been amazing!! Thank you!
The staff at James Moore are beyond exceptional. Their work ethic and customer service as well as their knowledge base is unsurpassed. I look forward to our business relationship for years to come. Shout out to Christie, Debbie and Morgan! Job well done!
Megan our Client Relationship Specialist always does a great job communicating information and getting back to us when we have questions. We have been very happy with the team we work with at James Moore & Co.
The folks here have been doing my taxes for over a decade now. I used to do my taxes myself but have been so happy to rid myself of that task. Russell and the staff here do a great job. They get my return done quickly and always check to make sure all of my questions are answered and I'm happy with their work. I recommend them without hesitation to anyone who needs tax work done.
I've used a CPA for over 25 years and have never considered a review or made a strong recommendation for any of them. I've always considered them a necessary evil with sub par service. Not the case with Canopy 360 the owner, Russell, is very engaged and cares deeply about their high level of service. Having been with them now for 3 years I have developed an expectation of how things would go. The accountant, that was my primary contact at Canopy 360, left the company last year for a different position. I k
if you need to have any kind of tax work done,i highly recommend going to james moore & co.,in ocala. i've been going there for years, and their very thorough, and professional.the client advisor i've worked with is elysia and will be a blessing to you,as well as being a blessing to me.
Just called, talk to what sounded a receptionist she is new and could not even referred me to someone else, they will not assist if it?s not ?complex? even though their website states individual tax like a w2 which is what is stated on their questioner. I have 2 jobs a house and retirement trough my employer?. Should I be a millionaire for them to help? Don?t waste your time.
I recommend Russell and his staff for all your accounting needs. Russell is great to work with he takes the time to explain all your options. The accounting is completed on time and has saved us a lot in time and money. A great CPA firm.
Their name embodies the client experience they deliver. Canopy 360 has become for us an adjunct staff of caring, knowledgeable professionals who truly do ?have us covered?. Don?t hesitate to dip your toes into the water; you?ll be glad you did!
Super helpful and caring folks here. These guys make every possible attempt to make sure you are extremely educated and aware of your individual financial situation. They incorporate your future goals, dreams you have for your retirement, and then make an organized and coordinated effort to fashion a plan that works for you and your family. Super Impressive.
We give Russell 5+ stars for his great leadership and team effort over the many years he has helped guide our family in the tax and investment world.
We work with Lindsay, Crabb and Associates on a daily basis and they are some of our favorite people to work with! We definitely recommend them!
They didn?t want to help a disabled veteran with tax help questions who was willing to pay. I guess they only look after the extremely wealthy people.
This place has gone downhill over the years. High fees with nothing to show for it. If you need your taxes done, I would look elsewhere.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
