Alex has been awesome! My husband and I have used his services for 2 years and we could not ask for greater help! He is responsive, knowledgeable, and always there to answer any question (trust me, I ask a lot of questions)! I would highly recommend his services to anyone looking for help with filing taxes or help with new business expenses! Thank you so much for all you do!
As someone who was completely new to the tax game as an independent contractor, Alex made this process smoother than I ever could have expected. He was extremely attentive and thorough in his work. He made the process so personable and his professionalism communicated how trustworthy he was. I'm planning on using him for all my accounting needs. I highly recommend his services!
Been here for years. Great group and super easy process.
After shopping around and getting my hand bitten by a company I thought had me and my families best interest at heart, I have to say that Alex is one of the top CPAs I?ve worked with. He helped us file our personal and S corporation tax returns and I couldn?t be happier. He takes the time to make sure you understand what?s going on and gave us honest advice. Very highly recommended!!
Alex did an amazing job doing my 2019 taxes! I had some difficult situations but he handled them with ease. He made the experience super quick and easy. I would highly recommend using JBA tax and accounting!
Too long of a story?Despite getting my information Early he still filed me late causing me to have all types of penalties I had to pay. His communication sucked?I even showed up to his ?office? because I could never get in contact with him and ofc nowhere to be found. I could go on and on but I do not recommend his services AT ALL. Seemed like a nice person and professional but turned out to be the worst for me.
Alex is absolutely fantastic. I have been starting a new business, and when tax season comes around, that's a scary thought! Alex helps make everything so easy, and explains it in a way that you can understand. 10/10
Recently moved from Florida to NC and was looking for a local tax representative when I was recommended JBA Tax & Accounting. Upon calling and speaking to Alex I knew immediately I was going to be in good hands. Excellent customer service, tax preparation and filings but more importantly...great value. Highly recommend!
I had a very positive experience working with Alex. He was very patient and very quick to get back to me to answer a number of questions I had. His charges are very reasonable. I will be recommending him to family and friends.
We got off to a bit of a rocky start, but Alex was very professional and courteous and worked to fix any misunderstandings. We feel he has gone above and beyond to make our experience positive.
Alex working with me and my family for last 4 years, is always willing, despite having many customers, gives you all necessary information and more than a simple person who helps you fill out taxes, has become part of my family.
Always a great experience working with Alex! I?m a small business owner, which can seem daunting tax-wise, but I know that I?ll be well taken care of every year so I never have to stress. Thanks Alex!
Run away from this Accounting firm. They were our accounts for my online small business and they not only messed up our sales taxes and we ended up paying thousands of dollars but they were very bad with their communication. They did not respond to numerous emails, phone calls and situation got so bad that my husband had to walk in to their office and talk to the front desk person. Horrible service, horrible staff just plain horrible.
Alex is awesome. He's very professional, responsive, and does great quality work. I would highly recommend him!
Alex and JBA tax return, do a good job with service and getting my best return. Give them a try!
Awesome service. Taxes are always intimidating, but Alex made it easy and convenient to get through what use to be my least favorite time of the year.
Alex was very good: helpful, professional and very nice. Would recommend to others who also have a small business
Very timely, very accurate, and very helpful with answering my questions. My tax situation is complicated, and they were very knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommended!
Very easy to work with. Willing to review forms, specific concerns, and ensure you are comfortable with what will be submitted.
Simply the best This guy understand your needs and look out for you. Highly recommended
Exceptional service! Super responsive, knowledgeable and professional!
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
