I?ve been working with Heather for over 10 years on my personal taxes and six years on my business taxes and she is excellent. She has a great mind for thinking about how to optimize my tax situation.
We have been working with Heather for years, she is amazing! Everyone here is so kind and helpful, recommend Jenkins CPA to everyone!
This is our 6th year having our taxes done at Jenkins CPA and we have never been disappointed. The receptionist is pleasant and knowledgeable. Mason has done our taxes for most or all 6 years and he knows our information better than we do. He always knows the tax laws and keeps us on top of things while teaching us better ways of keeping records and documenting to make each year easier. Always thankful to get them done as early in the year as possible.
The team at Jenkins CPA exceed our expectations! We are so pleased with the transition from our old bookkeeper to Jenkins CPA. We initially just sot after them for our taxes, but discovered they were so much more! We have them doing our personal and business taxes along with our business's payroll and accounts payable. They have gone above and beyond in anything we have asked assistance with. We are yelling it from the roof tops that everyone should go to Jenkins CPA! If I had a T-shirt saying this, I
That was the most PLEASANT tax experience. Jenkins CPA was awesome. From the moment we walked in the door to walking out the entire staff was fast, efficient and friendly. I'll admit I was a turbotax person before but you always end up paying on those "free" filings anyway. I would always get frustrated because you would never know what half of the stuff meant. My wife and I just started a business and we were worried what doing our taxes personally and for the business would look like. After working with
I don't write reviews, but I had to come on here and just warn everyone how unprofessional and unorganized this place is. Gave them my business and personal taxes to do last March. They completed them in Sept. Well, they were wrong, entering wrong account numbers and caused and huge issue with the IRS and us getting late filing penalties and interest payments. I have a feeling we're going to get audit because of them once the IRS catches up. They failed every single step of the way. We're not going back her
Despite giving everything to them on time, they were 3 months late on my taxes, which caused me to owe a lot in penalties from both federal and state. I have tried to be understanding due to the circumstances, but they did not take responsibility for problems on their end. They also charged me full price for extremely late taxes. I am frustrated that we did everything right, yet this is what we receive. On top of that, it generally takes over a week to get replies from them. I cannot recommend them in any w
We had used Turbo tax the last several years and didn?t think we needed a CPA. Jenkins helped us get almost $2k more then what Turbo showed this year!! Plus they have great service and friendly staff. Call them today!!
We have been using Jenkins CPA for over 17 years, we use them for all aspects of our business and are very pleased with them. My wife and I also use them for our personal returns. Would recommend them to a business and/or your personal accounting needs
Such a great experience & welcoming atmosphere with Jenkins CPA. They've done my taxes for the second year now and Zach is always so kind, very knowledgeable, answers all my questions!
We have been using Jenkins CPA for years and we have had great experiences the entire time. Staff is very friendly, and eager to help!
I have been using Jenkins CPA for 15 years for commercial and individual accounting and taxes. You should be too ! I refer her as much as I can. Will never use anyone else.
I will ALWAYS go back to Jenkins!!! Great people. Love the family atmosphere at the office. Saved me money!!!
I wouldn't trust my personal or business accounting with anyone else!
THEY ARE AWESOME!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
