Customer Reviews

Joe and his team are super fast and good at their job. They fixed my IRS problem quickly. I really like Joe Mastriano, P.C. because they are very helpful and make sure everything is okay with the IRS. They are easy to work with and make things less stressful. I'm very happy with how they helped me!

Robin at Joe Mastriano P.C. - IRS Solutions handled my tax return professionally and efficiently. She gathered all documents promptly, filed my return accurately, and ensured I maximized my refund. Her clear communication and personalized advice made the process seamless, and I appreciate her dedication to client satisfaction. I highly recommend her for tax-related needs!

I had IRS trouble. Joe Mastriano, P.C. took care of it. Now I feel safe!

I used Joe to take care of my IRS payment plan. This guy knows his stuff. He was able to show me how to reduce my payments to nearly nothing and the process to get all done in 30 seconds. I highly recommend one of his consultations as he will put you on the right course.

Joe was extremely helpful and timely! He corrected my filing mistake from two years ago and reduced my $8k tax bill down to the correct $100. Working with him was a pleasure and stress free. I would definitely recommend him to anyone else who needs help with IRS representation and tax returns.

After Joe reviewed my tax returns I saw how the returns easily could have been the source of a BIG audit. They have a very common sense approach to understanding what the IRS looks for. They showed me how they put comments on the returns to get the IRS to accept my deductions. Never did returns like that before. No wonder I was audited twice in the last 10 years. Thank you. I will come here every year and bring people.

Great service from start to finish, I had my taxes done. To be honest, I had fun doing it. They even found some mistakes in returns done by another CPA 2011-2014 lucky I did not send in. I would have been audited. The numbers didn't match the IRS numbers they got from IRS on line service! They told me never file a return without matching the numbers. Recommended if you have any tax problem.

I would advise against. When I wanted to start my issue after making a $1,000 deposit, I was advised that they had been working on my case and I didn't have funds remaining toward my case. I then went to IRS and worked on my issue alone. The IRS did not have any correspondence on my case from my attorney, so I paid and was then on my own. For me it was a waste of money.

This a very legitimate business and Joe is amazing! You just have to be PATIENT with the process. It is dealing with the IRS, after all!! I am so grateful to Joe and his team. I went through a stressful long process of getting back taxes owed to the IRS of over $50,000 reduced down to only having to pay the IRS $3000.

When the IRS caught up to me I panicked. I talked to several companies but didn't get a good feeling till I talked to Stephanie. She set me up with an appt with Joe right away. Joe knows his business. I feel much better knowing that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Nice company and people. However, I did not receive the value out of this business that I expected. They charge an upfront retainer fee and sip on it until it runs out and request more. But the only service that was performed was to attempt to payment plan that I ended up doing myself, since the 2K retainer was used up. You may have a better outcome.

After having gone through a brutal audit, I vowed if there was a way to avoid another one I would. I saw on the internet Joe Mastriano said he could explain to me how to avoid an audit. So I went in for a consultation. He walked me through the entire thing. What a relief! Joe is your man if you want to minimize the chance of an audit!

I knew I was in trouble with the IRS but I just couldn't wrap my head around it. Joe was able to explain everything in a very understandable way. Now I know what to do. Joe helped me save my business.

Great service. Took my return to a company that bragged about getting me the biggest refund. The return looked suspect to me so I took it to Joe Mastriano, CPA and they patched up what was wrong and then?then? I even got a bigger refund. Yep. No risky deductions. Just good solid tax preparation.

I've known Joe for about 8 years now and though I never used his firm's services, I can vouch for him being a honest hard working man, and the firm's staff are well experienced people that are fully dedicated to their work.

I ended up being audited. It's a long story but I was in big trouble. Joe and Linda got me out of the bind I was in. They also told me how to avoid problems in the future! They are doing my taxes from now on!

I had tried to do my business taxes myself and ended up in an Audit. Joe was able to look everything over, show me where I went wrong and helped represent me in my Audit. From now on I will be using him for my taxes.

Joe and Stephanie are awesome. The four stars move to 5 after my dilemma is solved.

My business tax situation got away from me. I knew I had to fix it but didn't know where to start. Linda was able to set things right. Very professional.

Run to Joe if you have made some bad decisions. I ran to him and he bailed me out and saved my business!!Five stars!!

Joe Mastriano is experienced, reasonable and has got the expertise. I'm glad I went the EXPERT.

Worst place ever, the people who work there are so racist and the terrible customer service that we could ever!! Experience.

Highly recommended. Experienced, professional and timely service. Thanks!

This guy is a JOKE . Took my money for several weeks ( thousands of dollars ) then said " sorry I can't help you .

Beware. What a waste of money. Highly unrecommended.

This is my 2nd time to try this .

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
