It has to be said, I won't be gatekeeping this. Luis Gomez is the BEST tax preparer there is. Doing my taxes ?correctly? finds me all the credits and deductions I am eligible for. You not only get great service but also get winning gambling tips: always bet on black. With great power comes great responsibility. Support your friendly neighborhood tax preparer.
My significant other and I have been with Manuel Haro?s services at Jose Gomez income tax for over a decade now. I couldn't speak more highly on his professionalism and care with his clients. I recommend EVERYONE I know here. And sure enough we all stick with Manuel as he is SUPERB. Thank you for all your years of dedication. I'll be seeing you later today for another year of taxes.
Ask for Manny! Got linked up with him through a coworker and have had my taxes done by him the last three years. Very very fast and responsive. Makes the whole process very easy and efficient!
Jose is the best in town. He has been doing our taxes for several years. Fast, efficient and professional!
lousy experience. I went to do my taxes in this place six months ago and I still haven't received my tax refund. I went to the IRS and they told me that they can't give me a refund because they did the calculations wrong in this place. I've been to this place many times to get my problem fixed and they don't want to help me. the IRS tells me it is their obligation to fix the problem. But since they don't solve anything for me, I'm going to have to pay and go to another place to fix the mess they made.
I've done my taxes here for a couple of years already and the times that I have been here I've been charged $60 and have always claimed dependents. This year I was charged $100. I asked why I was charged $40 extra and was told because I claimed dependents and that they had to keep copies of all the forms in case of an audit. From what I know a business shoud always always keep their forms in case of an audit.. so I honestly think they are taking advantage of the situation because to me thats not a valid ex
Me and my fiance found one of their apartment listing in Inglewood,ca. the minute it was posted on craigslist. I contacted the office and went to view the apartment. I was told their decision will be based on a verifiable income in which I and my fiance make 4 times the posted rent. We even offered to place a $1000 hold on the apartment and pay 1st month rent on January 1st $900. I was told they had to view more applications. The next day we noticed the same guy showing the apartment to a Hispanic family.
I am new the reporting taxes and honestly he made it super easy and fast. asked for my work and school expenses, as a deductions! Super great atmosphere. He does have a lot of clientel so get there early
I've been filing with Jose since I started filing my taxes in 2016 and every year it's always smooth and I can ALWAYS get in contact with him. Great service and a great Team!
I like coming here doing my taxes but with Jose two years ago I did them with some lady that has curly hair she's super RUDE didn't even greet me and my husband she just keep looking at me with a weird face if u want to do your taxes do them with JOSE!
HAVE BEEN A LOYAL CUSTUMER FOR THEM FOR OVER 10 YRS FOR MY TAX RETURN AND I HAVE NEVER ONCE GOTTEN A COMPLAIN OR HAVE THEY MADE AN ERROR. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM! AND THEY ARE SO FAIR WITH THEIR PRICES, NOT RIP OFFS LIKE H & R BLOCK.
I have been going to this guy since 2008 and i have to say the most honest and professional person that i have come across. I have recommended him to all my familys and friends, and their friends...all are happy and continue recommending their friends and family as well...
Worked with Ralph and he's super nice. He explained everything to me when I asked him a question. I'm going to this place annually from now on.
Jose is great, I have been coming here for the last 10 years - he's fast - and gets you the most money back! Thanks JOSE!
They get things done
I've been trying to reach him for over 3 months and no one answers it just sends me straight to voice mail. I don't live in CA to go to the offices

Several weeks ago, I completed my tax transaction with them, and I was confidently waiting to receive my refund. I called this place, and they told me my taxes had been sent. I contacted the IRS customer service line directly, and to my surprise, my taxes had never been sent. The database didn't record that I hadn't filed my taxes until
(Translated by Google) We have to be very careful where we seek help to fill out our income tax forms. My husband and I went to this office, they gave us very bad advice, they did not make my son dependent even though I told him and asked about it, he gave me a confusing explanation and still looking at my son there. Afterwards I called them so they could explain it to me and maybe I would go again to have my ways corrected but I WILL DEFINITELY NOT RETURN TO THIS PLACE SINCE WHO ANSWERED MY CALL WAS DISRES

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
