Customer Reviews

Awesome service today at LLFCU. Cathy helped my kids learn how to set up their ATM card and online banking! Thanks Cathy!

I have a HELOC and 3 vehicle loans with La Loma FCU. I absolutely love them. Silvia is amazing and always so helpful. She makes everything so easy, always appreciate her. Highly recommend going with them, they always have good rates!

I have just started going to la Loma for my credit card and it has been a really easy and helpful starting. The employees have been very helpful and patient. This will be my main Union for a long time.

If you need an awesome Loan officer, Sylvia Verduzco is the person you want. She helped me get my home equity loan in a fast and efficient way!! As a senior loan officer, she is very knowledgable about the whole process and keeps in touch every step of the way. Does everything to expedite the process and is just such a pleasant, beautiful person. She truly is an asset to the la Loma Federal Credit Union.

I've been a member for 30+years. Staff is always very polite and helpful. Had my car loan from them and got a great deal.

I really appreciate the professionalism and support I get from the La Loma Federal Credit Union staff. I highly recommend visiting the Loma Linda Market place branch. They will treat you right!

Outstanding service! I was on a very short timeline to get the check to finance my auto loan, and within 10 minutes of closing Sylvia pulled together all the paperwork, and went above and beyond to issue me the check. She stayed way past closing to make sure it was all taken care of. Thank you Sylvia!

The staff are very professional, kind and helpful. I am glad to be able to use their services.

Been a memnber for 20 years and appreciated their services and also all the friendly staff.

I have been with La Loma Credit Union for over 30 years and will never leave. Everyone is great.

Early this month, Took a leap of faith to apply for auto loan. Viola! 2 days later, I got a call from Sylvia informing me I got approved. Not only that, during the time we were in the bank, Isabella Torres was very helpful, professional and knowledgeable of her job. I'm glad I went in that day and they helped me saved thousands of dollars of interests from my previous auto loan. Best decision ever to be a member of La Loma FCU!

I enjoy the experience that I receive when going to the credit union. Everyone is nice and so helpful.

Excellent rates for loans & credit cards. This is a credit union so they don't charge over on things to cover fancy internet or speedy services. That said, I've done multiple car loans here with apr rates that beat everyone else by a long shot. They are not Chase or Wells Fargo so they don't have surplus employees able to speedily solve any fraudulent charges or other checking/ savings account problem. If you harness what LLFCU has to offer & don't expect what they can't, you will be very satisfied & sa

Long story short, I left because of bad customer service. I honestly liked this bank, until I realized my bank account was hacked. Someone got my account and used it to pay Netflix. Unfortunately, I didn't notice for months. I went to the bank to fix the problem. They told me they couldn't reimburse me, not even the most recent month, or even cancel the payments; and that I had to take it to Netflix. I understood and was ready to go, but that didn't stop them from questioning me instead of just letting me g

This credit Union took/stold money from my checking account. They took/stold $6 per month and said that was due to 'Inactivity'. I was very I'll with many ailments including a hospital stay of 72 days. I am still recovery from my pains 14 months later. I had one other bank charge me an inactivety fee when I was out of it, however after a phone call explaining my issues, they refunded the charges fully. Not La Loma. They took my money and kept it.

Love La Loma. Very low apr which was great for my first credit card. I was surprised to see such low rating on here but reading the reviews I get it. If you're used to how things work in Loma Linda/the Adventist world you'll be fine. It's really just that you can't do a whole lot online which makes things slower.

Very friendly and accessible to help you out with anything you need.

Jessica was kind enough to go over my financing plans. Low rates, good customer service

Would not recommend. I've been a member of this Credit Union since my late teens. Recently I complained because I could not access my account online and did not receive an updated debit card in the mail. It's been weeks and customer service still hasn't returned my calls. I will be closing my account.

They were very helpful and informative when asked questions.

Love it here! Amazing personalities and very friendly!!

Terrible overall. Trash customer service: spent 10 minutes waiting while first on the line then had to deal with teller attitude afterwards for a mistake they did. Online accessibility is mediocre as well. Would not recommend this bank. Take your business somewhere else!

The service has gotten worse and worse over the past few years but especially now with the current manager Jerry being a stubborn robot-like beuracrat that can't use his brain to actually help the members like most other credit unions (or anyone with common decency) would. I don't feel like this is a credit union that values it's members anymore, it's turning totally corporate it seems. I don't feel Jerry was being fair with me with an account issue. I would give this place a solid 2 star rating normally b

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
