Our company has had a great experience working with Larson & Company. Amber has been a great resource, helping us clean up our books, providing excellent tax code advice, and helping us plan for year end tax management throughout the year.
Larson has been great to work with. We have used them for both tax and audit services and everyone on the team has been very knowledgeable and great to work with. I would highly recommend working with them.
Larson and Company are very professional and competent. Their services are accurate and completed in a timely manner. A employees are very cordial to clients. We enjoy working with them. Thanks
We've been with Larson for 15 years. Larry Tatum was awesome and was always prompt and explained things very well, then he retired. We were assigned Scott, he was prompt but we never really sat down with him to discuss anything, then he retired. Now we have Richard. He puts everything off till the last minute and likes to file extensions. I gave him our tax information the first week of March with a message that we needed these finished before March 30. We didn't hear back. We contacted him asking if they
Used them for 8 years and brought in a number of clients, new leadership came in and sent me a 2 sentence email saying they?re closing their relationship with me after 8 years. I thought it was a joke and called and got a vague response from the new manager, my rate they were charging me was a preferred customer rate and new leadership didn?t want to keep that going. Pretty disappointing and bad way of doing business.
I wish I could give you a name of someone there that failed to meet my expectations but unfortunately, I didn't even get that far. I was a client of Brad Bradley's (who, by the way, was amazing!) and was sent a letter that he no longer was able to provide services. His clients were referred to Larson & Co. I I dropped off my documents on April 4th and was told it was too late that they would have to file an extension (which I found understandable) but April 30th no one had called me to let me know that th
We have been working with Larson & CO for a few years now. I have found their organization to be very professional and concerned for our Senior Charity Care Foundation non-profit organization. Cameron Hodson is very caring and dedicated to ensuring that we receive a fair and professional audit.
Horrible experience with Rick Van Valkenburgh. We'll never do business with Larson and Company again. Imagine it's the day before the tax deadline and your CPA takes the whole week off. That's what it's like working with Rick. Also, if you want your emails to be ignored or not responded to for weeks at a time, then Rick is your guy. Do yourself a favor and find another company to handle your corporate taxes.
Larson has always been great to work, Scott and team on our taxes and Andrew and team on our audits. Very professional, knowledgeable and efficient!
I have worked with Larson & Company for many years and have been so happy with the people I've worked with. They are all very knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend their services.
This place is a joke. I paid them to do my small business' taxes in 2013 and they made huge errors that resulted in me getting a larger refund than I should have. I suspected this was the case and asked them about it. They didn't help me figure it out, just just told me to send the check back to the IRS. When the same exact check came this year, I spent HOURS on the phone with the IRS before having the CPA there help me figure it out. This was several months ago, and he said he was going to file an amended
I'm never worried when tax season comes around because I know Larson & Company are on top of their game. Larson & Company are easy to communicate with, great at their job, and affordable!
Jordan is great to work with and has a super friendly attitude. was late getting our taxes in and he took his personal time to finish them, Would highly recommend these guys.
Our CPA at Larsen is Rick VanValkenburgh and he?s has taken great care of my personal and business taxes for years. This has included many twists and turns as the business has grown and acquired other companies.
I enjoyed my experience with Larson & Company. They are very friendly and knowledgeable.
Very disappointed with the service we received. We would have been better off buying Turbo Tax and consulting Google for our questions.
Gordon and the staff have consistently delivered skilled, timely and very helpful services. Best ever!
Terrible. They took 6 months to do my taxes and ended up charging me $50 more than I was told. Do not use them.
The partners are always willing to take my calls and the staff is friendly! Great service!
Gordon and team are patient and skilled and we would use them again!
Expert advice and support in completing non-profit form 990 tax return.
I appreciate the individual assistance I received which was friendly and helpful. Thanks for your patience in working with me.
They do great work. Very efficient and timely.
Terrific group of professionals. Consistently exceed my expectations.
Best accountants Utah. Couldn't be happier with them.
Very attentive, timely and accurate. Highly recommend.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
