Customer Reviews

Highly recommend the business course. They were very helpful 1) to stay in compliance 2) very knowledgeable instructors and 3) easy to follow through and comprehend. All speakers were excellent!

The entire staff are absolutely the nicest people in the world. They are caring, and dedicated to making your experience with them enjoyable and smooth, in addition to educational when necessary. The 2019 fest was over the top. The learning experiences were worth the money invested. All of the staff kept their calm even when there were frustrating glitches with the new system the first day. The organizers were always visible and helpful. And let's not forget the people on the chat. The accommodations were

The personal connection was incredible! I do feel that we have all asked for a more friendly website and hope that will come soon. Fortunately, the challenges with the website were resolved with personal interaction. Robert Morales took care of everything in record time!

It really was unexpected experience; had numerous issues on the first day and NO ONE answering the phone. Finally after patience on my part and taking a second and third look in how to handle the session was really easier. Some speakers really needed more time; others was appropriate Thank You for having these courses for our community

My first time ever, their first time online Fest, some flops on the technical side but solid educational materials but mainly most of the presenters were outstanding. I highly recommend to all Latino tax preparers to connect with Latintaxpro. I am fully satisfied of the experience, i learned new things and refresh a lot. It was worth my investment. Thank you for this nice experience. Coming back next year

So this is my first time attending, I loved the fact that I was able to complete my state hours as well, what a delight. Most of the classes I attended were spot on with the customers I have. I appreciated that tremendously. I didn't know about the early morning pastires, so missed out on that. But all in all it was great!

I did like it and was able to learn new things that i almost forgot about. Also, I end up laughing at myself only because i was working at the same time that I was doing the classes and I had fun. I would like to thank all the instructors since they were able to give me some answer that I didn't remember during this past tax season for TY 2019. Thank you for having Latino Tax Fest available and I will be seen you next year and I hope that it will be in Vegas.

I have used Latino Tax Pro for several years already and I wouldn?t change it for anything! I love it! It?s so easy to use and understand and if you ever get stuck, there is always someone there to help you out. One of my favorite things is that even though I am a very busy person, and either I am driving, working, or cleaning at home, I still get to hear their videos and learn wherever I go and that?s a must have for me! They prepare you to pass your exam, no doubt about that, guaranteed! I recommend it

I took the preparer course to receive my PTIN and become a tax pro. I learned absolutely nothing that assisted in helping me learn to file taxes. I paid $350 and there was no help with the homework to let you know you are filing a tax return correctly. I called and they would not give answers to the homework. The course just explains tax law but not how to complete a return. I successfully received my PTIN but then took the same course with H&R Block and the difference is astounding!!! I learned so much for

This was the most organized conference I have ever been to especially for it to be virtual. They provided excellent materials to go along with each session. Help was always available. Speakers and topics were on point. This conference is for any tax professional regardless of what stage you are at in your career. They had all the VIP hitters when it came to Venders too. Latino Tax Pro does a phenomenal job educating, marketing, communicating with the the tax professionals community. I really ho

Every year they have mastered some of the roadblocks that the previous year presented!! If you haven?t attended then thi

Boring. It would have been better to read the material than to be on this webinar, the questions were not answered in a clear way. In my opinion the instructor has no experience to give this type of webinars, ha was just reading.

The course was very well put together, and the instructor did an excellent job making it easy to follow an understand.

Enjoy the set up. Informative videos on each topic taught makes the course easier to understand and follow unlike others that require a lot of reading to learn.

Good materials, easy to follow, described perfectly in both languages (English and Spanish), online version counts with videos making easy to keep learning when you are making others activities.

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
