Judd and his team are one of the best out there! If you need help with this year's taxes, definitely check them out!
Lawrie CPA group has been amazing in helping my clients get the best returns. Quick service, great response and great value. I highly recommend Lawrie CPA group for all your CPA needs. Judd does great for business evaluations as well. I'm thankful to have him as my go to Tax partner as he also has been able to help my clients who have had tax issues.
Judd Lawrie helped me get a big refund check from Indiana for my 2018 taxes. I had initially filed with Turbo Tax, and did not get the refund promised by them. I even contacted their customer service and a CPA they assigned to resolve this, but after wasting several hours dealing with them I just gave up. All they said is you have to file an amendment, without indicating what the issue was clearly, which was not helpful to me. Later in the year I happened to just come across Lawrie CPA group when looking f
I was amazed at my first return with Lawrie CPA Group and have been using them for the last 13 years. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Great customer service, quality of care & value like no other. I refer all my business clients to Judd. I have had many clients thank me for referring them as Judd is a true problem solver. If you're looking for someone who knows taxes, look no further!
I used Lawrie CPA this past year and it was a terrible experience. I reached out in December - before the year was even over. I even spoke to Judd on the phone and he confirmed he could do my taxes. So, I sent him all of my information and never heard from him. Then, in March 2020, I reached back out to Judd and his team and no one knew anything about me. Also, Judd promised to change my business address to a different state for me and never did. This was extremely unprofessional and I would never recommend
I have done my taxes with David Cherry for multiple years roughly dating back to 2014. I have never had an issue with him until he moved to this firm. We sat down to do our taxes this year for 2022 and something has changed. We were missing a few items to complete our taxes so it was discussed in office and we were instructed to email the missing docs to the firm. I did that on the same day and and called to confirm they were received. I received no call back. The following week I called on Monday and left
My work with Lawrie CPA group is best described as partnership. I'm a small business owner (just me) and I know I can count on their team as my partner. They work with me, never against me. When I need them, they do efficient and effective work. There is one thing I am certain of when it comes to Judd and his CPA team, they are service focused. Their best interest is going to be mine. I can count on the Lawrie CPA team. In addition, beyond just me, I know Judd and his team are deeply involved in serv
This is my third year using this CPA firm and I thank Judd and his team for all they have done for me since I?ve been a client! I did my own taxes for years but I ran into a audit problem once in my life and he fixed it and I just never left! Does the company need a little improvement in the business flow, process and communication? Yes, but we all do within ourselves as well! Well, at least I can admit that I do! I know I too can admit I have been impatient with getting responses back during the pandemic t
We went to Judd at the recommendation of a family friend who had used him for years. He helped explain why our tax situation had changed significantly and helped us file an amendment that netted us over $600 - just in the first meeting. After using TurboTax & other online programs to file ourselves, it's already been well worth it to use Judd & Lawrie CPA Group!
I want to be fair, because there was good and bad. Judd is decent at what he does, though very busy. We had to remind him regarding some details. The first assistant we dealt with was excellent--had some back taxes done for us within a couple of days. She left and was replaced by what we can only describe as an idiot--missed a deadline we needed for documentation by 3 months, redid from scratch figures we'd provided with documentation, etc. Judd finally fixed it personally. However, at the end I neede
I have worked with David Cherry and Ashley Conner for tax and payroll services. They are excellent to work with and are quick to respond when I have questions. I highly recommend the Lawrie & Dunbar team.
I have used Lawrie CPA Group for the last 3 years and will use them exclusively in the future. This firm always looks out for my best interest and has always more than earned their fee. Everyone that I have had contact with has been professional and willing to answer all questions that I have asked. It is comforting to know that they have your best interest as their priority.
I have been going to Judd Lawrie CPA Group for several years now with my 65 yrs old mother(Peggy) and we both agree that going to see Judd is like going to Disney World LOL!!! What fun and excitement. Just truly a blessing to be around such kind and professional people. One of the best????
They didn't do my taxes but they did my mom's taxes. There was an error at the IRS and they said they didn't receive her payment, I just thought they did the taxes wrong. Anyway, I left them a pretty irate voicemail and they got back with me pretty quickly and are working to correct it by running communication. We're not all the way out of the woods yet but they've already done a lot. They've been really great to work with.
Judd has prepared my personal and business returns for several years. He's very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. I high recommend Judd and his staff.
We have used Judd since we moved to Indiana. He never makes us feel rushed or asking too many questions. There was a small glitch this year and he worked patiently with us to get it fixed.
The Lawrie team is friendly, professional and exceptional at understanding all facets of tax code.
Bob Romack took a huge weight off of my shoulders this morning by filing my personal and business tax returns. He is a gentleman and a pleasure to talk to. 10/10 service and will likely return in the future.
Lawrie CPA Group has done my taxes for many years . They are very knowledgeable, and very good in answering questions . Very Helpful Highly Recommend them.
Judd Lawrie CPA has helped me so much with my business. I?ve been through a lot and their patience and help has been awesome.
Poor communication...have not got a return call.and left several messages and emails..for 5 months and would not recommend them to anyone...
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
