Customer Reviews

Will has been doing our taxes for years and we wouldn?t trust anyone else! He is extremely knowledgeable in his field as well as very punctual when it matters most! Our experience with him and his staff is great every time!

Mr. Lewis and his team have been wonderful to work with on my taxes. This is my first year to hand this over to a professional to help me. I have done my taxes myself for years and it was such a relief to trust someone else to assist me. I will definitely depend on them again next year to do my taxes!

I am so grateful to have partnered with an amazing accounting team - Will Lewis, Brittan, and Wesley. While going through a divorce, they?ve helped me sort out back taxes in multiple businesses as well as personally. When I was lost, Mr. Lewis was my tax hero leading the way to freedom!

Mr. Lewis and his team are the absolute best at what they do. They work together and get things going smoothly all the way to the end. They communicate through the entire process and never miss a beat. Not to mention how affordable they are. You definitely get your moneys worth. Thank you guys.. you are very appreciated

William and his staff are truly game changers in their field. I own a trucking company, and they manage to navigate the intricacies of my field with ease. I also find William very personable and enjoy listening to the stories about his military career. Thanks again to Lewis Tax Firm.

I have referred many client to Will Lewis. Beyond preparing and filing taxes, Will is well versed in negotiating with the IRS and otherwise helping people who have delinquent tax issues resolve their issues. As a bankruptcy attorney, I have many clients who have these issues. Dealing with the IRS is one of the most difficult things, and Will is the only person I have found that is willing to tackle the IRS. This is perhaps the most complicated area of the law and/or accounting. Will gets it right.

Was treated like family from very friendly and helpful staff. It didn?t matter if it was over the phone, Internet, or in person the agent and staff gave me constant updates.

Will and his staff have been top notch helping us with our small business. He stands by his word and very timely advice. Happy to recommend him to anyone needing tax/ business advice.

I have been a client of Lewis Tax Firm for a few years, and I have always been extremely satisfied with their services. They are highly knowledgeable, professional, and efficient. They take the time to understand my individual tax situation and make sure that I am taking advantage of all of the deductions and credits that I am eligible for. I have always felt confident that my taxes are being prepared accurately and completely. In addition to their excellent technical skills, Will Lewis is also very person

In the beginning, communication was amazing. My tax issue was quite extensive but he was able o get it handled. I thought all was good until I got mail saying I was out of compliance. Will dropped us without any notification by mail to us. In addition, he failed to file a quarterly tax form in 2023 as per our agreement. Def need to seek someone else to help you. Wasted around 10,000 with his firm for nothing.

I am a business owner and use Lewis Tax Firm. Will Lewis is professional and affordable! He has the best customer service and always quick to respond when I reach out for questions. He goes above and beyond for his clients. I'm so glad I chose to use Lewis Tax Firm for all my accounting needs! Definitely would recommend him to all my friends and family

I?ve used quick books for years so when Lewis Tax Firm approached us about their services and capabilities, I politely declined. After a more in depth meeting we decided to slowly let them start taking over, and our business has never been the same! Not only does Lewis Tax Firm free up my time to focus more on my business, he also is very knowledgeable and saves us money!!! If you have a small business and are managing the books yourself, but have considered delegating it, give Lewis Tax Firm a call, you wo

I was a little concerned about working with Will, but after spending some time speaking with him, there was no doubt he could do the job. I'm always amazed at his work ethic, attention to detail and ability to take care of his customers. Highly recommend.

Great team! Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. I fully recommend for all your tax needs.

I had always used turbo tax , however Lewis Tax Firm was able to do my taxes much faster than it took me to do it my self. On top of that the firm had better results and I always felt like I was getting the best result possible when using them. I would definitely recomend!

Very efficient, experienced and done in a timely manner.

Dropped off taxes end of January, he called to tell us he had to file an extension on taxes "no big deal right" me and husband have called repeatedly only to be told he would call us, never happen. Called last week demanded to speak to lewis himself still never got on the phone with him.... swear he would call at 1pm, guess what no I ended up calling at 2! Our files have been lost!

I had no clues about some of the new tax laws that have came out and how they affected my taxes. After doing my own taxes by myself for so many years I decided to let a professional handle it and not only did they take care of it but they also explained all the new laws and how they affected me. Would definitely recommend them for anyone needing taxes done.

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
