Mark made paying our taxes this year the easiest it?s ever been. He also explained some things we had questions about. Very knowledgeable and patient when providing information regarding tax issues. We will use him again in the future! His staff is welcoming and kind. An efficient place to visit for taxes.
I was thrilled having my wife of 55 years and I going to Marks office this morning to do our taxes. Every year we go there now , tax season becomes more and more comfortable. His demeanor and expertise on the current rules of the ever changing IRS is unreal. If there is anyone better at figuring out clients issues and saving them needless tax issues it?s CPA Mark Knauf.
Highly recommend this company. I?ve used them for the last 2 years and have been very pleased with their service and follow up. Accountants in the past have never reached out to me regularly to make sure things are filed on time, this company goes above and beyond!
Mr Knauf has been our CPA for the last 18 years since moving to Englewood. He is so very knowledgeable about tax codes and laws. Highly recommended his services. Great customer service.
Toni is fantastic at Mark Knauf's office. I am grateful she is so patient. Thank you, Mindful Change LLC.
Mark is very knowledgeable and helpful. The office staff are also knowledgeable and very nice. If you need any help with taxes or payroll don't hesitate to call Mark! The office is really cool too!
All these complaints about a vulgar email are without merit. It was obviously an email phishing scam using Mark as a scapegoat. Mark has been my trusted CPA for over 10 years. He is reputable, honest, and true professional. I'm sure his other clients would agree with me and not these "Fake Reviews" by non-clients. I will continue to drive an hour to personally meet with him to do my taxes every year.
Mr. Knauf is a most unprofessional businessman. He is unresponsive to messages, always with a ?client?. He does not accept phone calls. However, he will not call you back either. He has wasted over a year of my time producing exactly zero results. I was going to use this company to do our payroll and taxes for business and personal. After over a year of text messages and calls to the office that were NEVER returned I?m done with it. What he did produce was a bill for $800. I?m not even sure what that wa
Very easy to work with and great staff!!
Mark and his staff are very professional and responsive. They made even our tax experience easy. We highly recommend him and his staff!
Mark Knauf is a highly skilled, professional CPA with a friendly and intelligent staff. His advise has saved me a lot of time and money. You will enjoy working with Mark.
Mark is awesome, extremely knowledgeable and visiting him at his office is beyond an experience....he should charge admission. I enjoy his expert advice and candid demeanor.
Mark and his staff truly focus on their clients best interest. I've been using them for over 20 years, and would highly recommend them!
I have been getting my taxes done here for many years. Mark and his staff are kind and knowledgeable.
I have no Fing idea who he is but it appears someone is trying to hurt him! So I hope he takes a look and does make some sort of statement as looks bad! Also those who rated him so low because of an alleged email from him might want to double check your information as this could happen to you!
Mark is phenomenal! He got everything done for us so quickly! Great atmosphere and friendly people!
Mark and his staff are excellent. We've been clients for 14 years.
Amazing service. Got our complicated taxes done very quickly. Everyone in the office is very helpful!
I've been with Mark Knopf for the past 20 plus years. Have no complaints
Fantastic personal service! The entire staff is wonderful! Best Accountant in the state
Chris is so knowledgeable and quick to respond whenever I had a question. All the staff are efficient and friendly.
For some reason this company spams me with foul language. Either they need better email security or they need to grow up.
Mark the owner is a very dishonest person. Be very careful doing business with this man.
I just can say he help me a lot.
Top Notch!!! Best CPA in Fl gulf coast!!!
Accountant Savant! No kidding, and I?ve been around!

Very rude and unprofessional
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
